Fantastic experience: Just came for my first class - a leg focused workout. I was nervous because my legs are super sore today, but thankfully the class focused on lower body muscles while also being a full body workout. As someone who’s getting back into shape, I loved that I was able to modify the difficulty to my comfort level. Teacher was awesome and super supportive, great playlist, great workout, overall great experience! Will definitely come back!

Fantastic experience: Easily the best workout with the best trainers in the East Bay! HIIT workouts are challenging yet fun with enough variation each visit so it’s never repetitive or boring. The trainers (shoutout to Cassie and Josh) are great at remembering repeat clients and patiently help you with form/modifications so you always feel like there’s improvement whether you go every week or once a month.

Fantastic experience: The teacher set up perfectly and explained what to do at each station. Overall, the feeling and ambiance were great, and it made you want to work hard. The best part is that you have a reset room where you can recover immediately, including a cold plunge and sauna. A clean and sharp place to sweat!

Fantastic experience: This was first experience with cold plunge - definitely VERY cold! I felt super alert afterwards and the soreness did feel like it went away faster than usual. Definitely will need a few more tries before I can make it to the 5min mark.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to SWEAT for years. Even after having moved to a new neighborhood, I still find a way to make the trek. Cassie is a fantastic leader & business person. Her staff of well qualified trainers each bring exemplary expertise and unique teaching styles that make you feel like you're in good hands. Additionally, the clientele of SWEAT are cool, kind folks who often share in your drive to keep fit and stay dedicated. Seeing the same faces on a regular basis only furthers the sense of confidence and community you get with SWEAT. The promos are terrific ways to make your costs more accessible, so jump on them when you see them! Well worth the investment.

Fantastic experience: I love and have been going to Sweat for years - the trainers, space, workouts, and music are all great and will get your heart pumping. BUT they've really gone the extra mile with the new RESET room (both at the indoor studio AND the outdoor Sweat gym). If you are curious about cold plunge / cold therapy, but nervous to try it - DON'T BE. Cassie can help (if you need it - just ask!) and it's AMAZING. The benefits of cold therapy are numerous and practically immediate - for me, it's amazing for sore muscles / pain management, mood boosting, and sleep in particular. Yes, there's a good amount of science and research behind this, but the proof will be in how you feel when you walk out the door. TRY IT!

Fantastic experience: No matter what your experience level is with gyms and working out, Sweat is such a great workout! I have been coming here for over five years. I am the kind of person who sometimes goes to the gym and works out regularly, and sometimes gets out of the habit. Every time I get back into my workout routine and show up at Sweat I feel like I never left. I have had back pain on and off over the years from all the sitting I do at work and the trainers at Sweat have been incredibly helpful with very specific stretches depending on where the pain is. Sweat is such a great workout and community!

Fantastic experience: Friends! I have been taking classes at SWEAT since before the dreaded Covid lockdown in March 2020. I loved every class pre-March 2020 and now post-March 2020. These workouts are amazingly comprehensive and challenging with a plethora of amazing coaches. I love both locations: Emeryville and Rockridge. Fantastic experience: Sweat has changed my life! I had a baby during the early pandemic and between postpartum and lockdown, my body and mind were tired and out of shape. Sweat has been a lifeline, I’m in my 6th month of going 2-3 times a week, and feeling very strong. I am still very Covid conscious, and the Emeryville location is outdoors. I will probably never be super fit, but I feel more self confident, I have more energy, and am able to keep up with my running toddler!

Fantastic experience: SWEAT Family kills it! Been a big supporter of Sweat since the beginning. Cassie and the team she has built are amazing. The classes keep you on your toes and in tip top shape. Make it as hard as you need it or as light as needed for recovery. Of all the years Ive been going here, this is always consistent: Great Instructors, Great Community, Great Workouts, Great Gear…I think one of the fun things is when you do get one of those workouts with Cassie in your class (not as the instructor, but as a peer) and you pair up with her, good luck…she’ll push you! :) Keep it up Sweat Crew!

Fantastic experience: I started going to this gym in the depths of the pandemic because I felt much safer having the outdoor, distanced option. I'm so glad to have found them and now consider this gym an essential part of my self-care routine. My chronic back and joint pain has greatly improved, I feel strong and supported in my own body, and the workouts do wonders for my mental health and energy levels (and falling asleep is SO easy at night, which used to be a huge struggle). There's also a community feeling as the coaches remember your name, your goals, and any accommodations you might need.

They have excellent instructors who somehow always know your name, are always willing to give modifications, and are just wonderful all around. I’ve especially loved their outdoor workouts during COVID. The workouts are killer and I can’t recommend this place enough.

Fantastic experience: I love Sweat so much. I was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and my doctor told me I should train for surgery like I’d train for a marathon, that would help my recovery. I started going to group classes at Sweat 2-3 times a week, and I was in the best shape of my life by the time I climbed onto that operating table. My recovery went great, and I’m eternally grateful. I’ve been cancer free for years and now I’m back at Sweat to stay healthy. Thanks to the whole team there!

Fantastic experience: I love this studio for HIIT classes! Cassie and team are amazing trainers and they constantly motivate me. Every time I come to workout, it’s always different and new. The classes are usually set up with 8-9 workout stations that include a mix of cardio and weight lifting. They focus on your form and continue to challenge you which is very important to me. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I started going to Sweat in January 2021, and it was and continues to be a complete game-changer for my physical and mental health. I had previously had a regular fitness routine but my former gym moved to doing only Zoom classes - it just wasn’t the same, and I need that structure of group workouts led by instructors - so I stopped working out altogether. Unfortunately, we now know all to well the toll it takes when you’re isolated and stuck indoors without physical activity for a long period of time. I am so thankful I discovered Sweat, as they were offering in-person, outdoor classes during a time when it was very tough to find any in-person workouts in the Bay Area. Even now that gyms have reopened, I’ve stuck with the outdoor classes at Sweat - I just love getting my outdoor time and exercise all at once, and I find it much more enjoyable than working out indoors. I spend a large majority of my work week indoors and it’s so nice to change it up. There’s even a covered garage space for rainy days, so no excuses! (But they do have an indoor gym as well if that’s your jam!) I travel a lot and I love the flexibility of the class cards, which don’t expire, so I’m only paying for sessions in the times when I can actually use them. The workouts are designed so that you can go multiple times a week if you want without fatiguing yourself, because each day targets a different muscle group, but I’ve also missed several weeks due to travel and been able to jump right back in without feeling like I’m lagging. The workouts are excellent, efficient, and open to all levels while pushing and challenging you to grow and get stronger. In just 50 minutes of your day, you get an incredible work out that will leave you feeling great. The instructors and community are welcoming and encouraging. I always leave feeling better than when I walked in. Try out a class, you won’t regret it. Much gratitude to Sweat’s founder, Cassie, and the whole Sweat team!

Fantastic experience: I love Sweat SO MUCH! I have been going to this gym since 2018 (back when I still went indoor at the Albany location), and still make it part of my weekly routine (and it is always a highlight!). The outdoor gym helped me so much during the pandemic to still get a great, intense workout in with the support of a coach and in the company of others, and, as a bonus, to get to spend some time outdoors! As I work inside all day, I still super enjoy getting to work out outside and breath that fresh air- whether it is freezing out or the sun in shining! But if you prefer, there is also an indoor location. Another thing I love about Sweat is how challenging, dynamic and diverse the classes are! All I have to do is get myself to class, and then I know I’m going to have a great workout. No class is ever the same as another, so you never get bored, but the workout is already set/provided, so you don’t have to worry about challenging yourself- that’s a given! The coaches are also there to show you how to do the moves correctly so you don’t injure yourself and also how to adapt the moves for your body to get the best results possible in a sustainable way! The coaches and the timer also create motivation to push to your max effort while also still keeping things fun and positive with bumping music and high fives! It’s just a great atmosphere :) 10/10 recommend

Fantastic experience: BEST GYM I'VE EVER BEEN TO! Ever. I'd give it 6 stars if I could. I would never push myself this hard unless there were friendly coaches and other cool folks doing the same circuit alongside me. It's my favorite thing to work out outside too--so much better than a loud, dark gym. I love the 5 or 6pm classes (depending on the time of year) because I can see the sunset and birds flying over. When I was considering moving from my house to a different one, distance from Sweat was actually one of my deciding factors ☺️.

Fantastic experience: I can’t express enough how great this place is!! I am 55 and started working out at the Sweat outdoor gym classes with a buddy about a year ago. The classes are super challenging, but with great instructors, easy to follow. My core strength has improved so much over this year and given me stamina I didn’t have before. I love breathing the fresh air while doing this workout as well. I highly recommend this class on San Pablo!! ❤️

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a sweat member for 2.5 years wahoo :) My partner and I love coming in because everyday is a new workout program. It’s extremely challenging and by the end of class you feel on top of the world because your peers and the music motivate you to give it your all! Most importantly the coaches look at your form and correct you if needed. I love that attention to detail because I need that supervision! Fantastic experience: If you’re looking for a gym with a high vibe feel and community, this is it! I went for a drop in to the Emeryville location with my friend Nechelle and from start to finish my heart was so full. Josh is an excellent trainer who went over our movements in detail before we started. He brought great energy and kept the large class flowing without hiccups. The music was perfect, the workout kicked my butt (in the best way possible)and I had a blast. Looking forward to my next sweat experience

Fantastic experience: I love toggling between the outdoor and indoor gyms at Sweat. The two gyms pretty much mirror each other in terms of the circuits and focus areas (for example one day is focused on legs, another is arms/shoulders, another is total body) so it sort of just depends on which location you prefer. You’ll find TRX, a row machine, bike, but something unique to the indoor gym is the climber. That’s always a nice change! Overall I’m a big fan of both locations - once you get a few classes under your belt, you’ll be hooked!

Fantastic experience: I started going to Sweat 7 years ago when I was just starting to build out my fitness routine and I love how welcoming and inviting Cassie and her instructors were in making me feel comfortable in their group classes. Fast forward 7 years later and the instructors here still continue to push and challenge their students to build the strongest version of themselves. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to get a little bit of movement into their lives!

Fantastic experience: Cassie and the studio is fantastic! I was trying to get back into regular workouts after recovering from injuries and losing track during the pandemic. I took a few Sweat classes and while they were tough (I had to modify), I started seeing meaningful improvements in my strength and stamina. Recently, Sweat’s Academy program has been instrumental in motivating me to build a routine & get out of the house (after remote working)! It’s a commitment to 4x a week at the same time, and I truly feel more empowered and stronger since starting. The workouts are varied and effective, the community is great, and there’s a diverse range of abilities in the class. If you’re thinking of taking a class…do it! If I can do it…so can you!
Fantastic experience: I've been going to Sweat 2-4x/week for the past five months and just increased my membership from 8x/month to 12x/month, that's how much I love it. This studio looks intimidating (I was intimidated; took me months to sign up for my first class), but Cassie (the owner) is very welcoming and encouraging, and the people I've met in class have been so warm and friendly. I go to the Mature Muscle class at 10 a.m. It's great for us older folks and also those looking for an entry-level HIIT workout. All the exercises can be adjusted for different fitness levels, and Cassie mixes things up daily so I'm never bored. Remember Yo Gabba Gabba? There is a quote I say to my kids that applies here: Try it, and you might like it. Seriously, though, try it; you will like it!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to SWEAT for two years and hopefully will for a long time. I love the class structure and diversity. You hardly ever do the same class twice which keeps it incredibly interesting and challenging. They do a great job mixing cardio and resistance training. I have gone to several of their trainers that are awesome (Jason and Ashley back in the day) but honestly nothing compares to Cassie’s classes. She is the bomb. She remembers you (such a nice touch) and is an excellent motivator, knowing precisely when to give you encouragement. She’s also cognizant of your form which is what I really like to have. Their outdoor studio is safe and convenient - hope they keep it forever! If you’re on the fence, give ‘em a whirl. I’m so happy I did!

Fantastic experience: LOVE this gym - found it through classpass years ago and was so hooked that I quit c/p and moved to a membership here instead! the best thing about Sweat is that every day is different, so for those of you who tend to lose motivation once workouts become repetitive, this gym will fix that problem right away. Cassie's classes are still my absolute favorite (Saturdays @Rockridge) although I call them punishments during the workout because they're just THAT hard. Highly recommend for those who love HIIT/strength training/do not mind sweating.
Fantastic experience: Sweat is my favorite workout class in the Bay Area! It is a more fun spin on the traditional boot camp that has whipped me into shape without being miserable like most boot camps. All the teachers are fantastic- good at what they do but also not annoying. I wouldn’t go anywhere else to get in shape!

Fantastic experience: The HIIT and Fusion workouts are always different and challenging no matter what your fitness level. I usually do an outdoor Bootcamp in SF, but when I'm in the East Bay Sweat Strength & Cycling is my go to place for an excellent workout!!! You will definitely leave sweaty and satisfied :))

Fantastic experience: Great boutique style "gym." They are 50-minute classes and the HIIT workouts kick your butt. Three days a week they have fusion classes that incorporate cycling. They also do heavy weight lifting classes. I have been going regularly 3-5 days a week for 1.5 years now and still LOVE IT! The instructors are motivating and focus on form. Most of the classes are about 12 people (though they can get up to 20 or so), so it really is like getting personal training. Highly recommend!!!
