First City Barbell

Experiencia fantástica: First City Barbell is an incredible experience. The gym itself is very nice- super clean with great, well-kept equipment- & the community of lifters are very encouraging. The magic lies in the passion of the coaches, though- Josh & Kim are in love with weightlifting & it shows. Their attention to detail, excellent ability as coaches to break down the lifts to meet an athlete where she's at (wherever that may be) to net improvement, & patience as we learn is moving. They are kind, & they are very good at what they do; we are quite lucky here in Monterey to have this winning combination as a resource. Use it!!

Experiencia fantástica: The coaches are very knowledgeable about how to give instructions on weightlifting techniques. They have a fixed program every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. and each class is worthy of trying out. Regardless of your level, the class will definitely be of great assistance! All members are super friendly and professional! What a great gym!!
