Experiencia positiva: Staff is great. The Y provides a wide variety of classes the instructors are fantastic. The Y is going through much needed update renovations to the facility. When completed it will definitely be a five star fitness center. I am proud to belong to a club that does so much good for the community as well.

Experiencia positiva: Great pool however the lifeguards frequently are on duty looking at their cell phones. I’ve mentioned it to management several times to no avail. Today the lifeguard was on phone with earbuds in. I’ve seen kids jumping in at the deep end during open swim while the lifeguard texts away. Smh.

Experiencia fantástica: no hay mucha gente en el Gimnasio y puedes estar muy cómoda haciendo tus ejercicios,pague por la membresía familiar y solo van a ser $75 por mes,me gusta muchísimo! Porque somos 6 en la familia,ya que solo por una persona se paga $25 al mes. Y puedes hacer uso de la piscina,también la cancha de basketball.

Experiencia fantástica: The front desk staff and life guards are all very helpful and supportive. I have been a member of the YMCA or other comparable facilities for over forty years. As a former fitness director (US Pentagon) and consultant for US Public Health Service I give the people that work here: Lily, Chris, Kumar, Thomas and Jen to name a few a “5” star rating. They are some the most wonderful and down to earth people I have ever met and are the true gate keepers of this very nice community center…

Experiencia positiva: I have been a Y member for over 40 years, primarily to use the pool. I have always come in the early morning, 5 days a week, so my comments reflect that time frame. The current reception staff are fabulous and the early morning lifeguard is always on time and never misses a day. They are real gems!!! The renovation of the pool and women”s locker room are fantastic!! I only wish the showers and the pool deck could be kept consistently clean.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been coming to the YMCA for over 40 yrs, I am currently 51 yrs old. I prefer the Kingston Y to a more modern Health club (and I have been a member to many). It has just what is required of a very humble man. A simple weight room, quiet and relaxed atmosphere , THE BEST steam room and down to earth neighborhood people who always show gratitude and kindness to me. THANK YOU

Experiencia fantástica: The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County is an incredible place. My 6 year old son currently takes swimming lessons in the beautiful and newly remodeled pool. His instructor is knowledgeable and caring, and he's made a lot of progress in a short time. The YMCA is more than a place to exercise, it is a place to support the diversity of Kingston's community and the youth in Midtown. We are lucky to have this community asset.

Experiencia fantástica: The YMCA of Kingston has never looked so good after a massive overhaul of upgrades in 2020! I knew the pool was being replaced (which is now state of the art), but I also was impressed with the brand new parking lot and accessibility, 3 brand new gym floor surfaces, and brand new locker rooms. I grew up using the Y, but the Y was never a state-of-the-art facility it is now. And it is always better to support a charitable organization over a for-profit gym in my opinion!

Experiencia fantástica: This facility has been improved dramatically over the past 2 years, including: Men's and Women's Locker Room renovations, New Gym Floors (3 gyms), New Entrance lobby, New Parking Lot and Landscaping, Total new Pool with: new filters, lighting, climate control, pool surface. Brand new Steam Rooms.

Experiencia positiva: Okay, while the monthly membership fee is higher than any gym around (I think.....), I feel really good about investing at the Y because it offers me a rare opportunity to be in a multi cultural, multi generational and varied socio- economic diverse environment. Few places do this in such a hospitable positive inclusive way. Sure I do not like that there can be a shortage of hot water in the ladies room but over all the entire facility feels clean and well cared for. The staff are always friendly and super approachable. The hot tub is huge and has super powerful jets. It feels great to go in to after a swim in the usually very empty pool. I love being a part of the Kingston YMCA.

Experiencia positiva: The facilities are a bit outdated, but there are few facilities in the region for swimming indoors and, for that, the YMCA is the best bet for northern Ulster County. The swim programs for children are excellent and keep them active throughout the year. The competitive youth swim team is top-ranked when compared to other YMCA's throughout New York and the region.

Experiencia positiva: I love the Y, because by using their facilities I'm helping the community. also, they're the only pool around. the aquoga class is excellent, and the instructor, amy, is knowledgeable, patient and kind. their personal training staff is as good as any at a top tier city gym. that being said, the facility needs upkeep. the pool can be cleaner. the hot tub can be cleaner. there is mold above the shower stalls in the women's bathroom. they need to clean up the place a bit. i would've given it 5 stars, where it not for the conditions in the facility. if you're looking for an affordable place to work out, the Y it is...just make sure to wear shoes or flip flops at all times.
