Experiencia fantástica: Awesome gym, lots of old school equipment. Dumbbells up to 130, Super friendly staff especially Johnny who's there in the AM. $40/ month so can't go wrong there. Only con is no wifi and bad 3g reception in the cardio room.

Experiencia fantástica: After trying out a few gyms in the LA/Long Beach area this is by far my favorite. Did their 3 month plan to try it out and completely fell in love with the place. In the hours that I go (usually after 6 pm) it is never crowded and in the few times that I've gone early there was still plenty of equipment to use. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The vibe all together is just welcoming. Whether you are pushing 300 lbs or 80 you will feel welcome here. Showers/locker rooms available and they even have an area outisde to hit the bag and do some jump rope. Key equipment available: Flat press bench (many), incline press bench, pull up bars, squat rack, preacher curls, leg press machine, multiple lap pull down machines, cable station, abs station upstairs. Very affordable as well.

Experiencia fantástica: Love this gym. I’ve been a member on and off for 15 years. It’s not overly crowded. Lots of machines and free weights. Cardio room full of treadmills.

Experiencia fantástica: No frills gym located in Silver Lake, last month we paid $55/month which has gone up to $69 now without any other hidden fees. We signed up for a month and were pleased with the cleaning and front desk crew. Some of the equipment pieces are a bit worn down, but really no complaints for the value of the gym. Their small fridge beverages are also adequately priced without large markup.

Experiencia fantástica: I first encountered Body Builders Gym walking along Hyperion, on my way to an experimental/drone show at the Hyperion Tavern. It must have been 10:30pm. Through its many windows, I saw a man wearing a Dead Kennedy's t-shirt, old Sony headphones wrapped over his ears, performing a standing military press. The rest of the gym was quite empty. There was something in this solitary moment that transcended the rat race of life I found myself in, having recently moved to Northeast LA and not knowing what I would do with myself. Well, a couple weeks later I ended up coming back, got a three-month subscription, and haven't left. Quite literally, I enjoy this gym so much I have not switched neighborhoods. An awesome housing opportunity opened up in the Arts District/Boyle Heights. Gentrification aside, I could not bare being farther than a bike ride away. No, this was impossible! The staff is familial, the facilities although on the are much sufficient as long as you are not planning on having an entire gym to yourself during rush hour, and the clientele is great too-- a minimal amount of groaners, very few liftbros, and everyone seems to keep the place sparkling clean. Family owned since 1978, what the heck you waiting for!?!?!

Experiencia fantástica: I'm no gym person but decided to get into shape recently. This place is exactly what I wanted, no pressure, no upsells. It's a local gym that almost feels homey in all the right ways. I generally don't have a problem getting to the equipment I want to use, they are busy but I have never seen it packed(I work at home so I go between 11am to 2pm). The attendants are nice and professional, they have a nice selection of trainers that you can work with. The equipment is good and well maintained but nothing fancy. The people who go there are nice and respectful of the gym rules for the most part. So far I'm very happy with this place.
