Experiencia fantástica: They helped our Trail Life troop out by donating old rope pieces to help our troop with knot tying. They couldn’t give us full ropes understandably because they were old retired ropes. So they even cut them into 3-5 foot sections for us. Thank you so much.

We are saving for a family membership to keep our kids active instead of inactive on their devices.

Experiencia fantástica: Staff is very friendly. The gym is very inviting and good music at a volume that doesn't overtake the environment. Everyone I've met there are very friendly and helpful. Overall a great place to start climbing. Edit...many years later. Still an awesome gym. Wish they would add cracks, considering their recent popularity. They put up some good and hard routes for the grades on the big wall. The boulders are also hard for the grade, as it should be on both accounts. Needs more cracks!!

Experiencia fantástica: This was an awesome facility with great staff. Our family had a wonderful time our first time there. They have many auto-belay routes (I think around 8 or so) with multiple colored routes at each auto-belay line so you have so many different options to climb. We loved it! Our kids loved it as well.

Experiencia fantástica: Awesome, friendly, and super helpful staff. I’m new to climbing and they’ve patiently answered questions. There’s plenty of bouldering options for newbies, as well as auto belayed climbs. Truly appreciate the later hours too, it’s what convinced me that I could try this as I live out of county and sometimes work late. They constantly change out routes, but not too often so you have plenty of time to work on problems. I love all of the comps they hold too!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve always wanted to learn to climb and unfortunately have waited far too long to give it a go. Recently, I went to LEF. I was oriented by Mitchell. I must say that if it weren’t for his patience and kindness I would’ve been much more nervous about going there alone. I observed how he was with other customers and was pleased that he showed everyone the same amount of care. The gym itself was pretty amazing. Better than ones I’ve visited in California. The other members there that I spoke with also seemed very kind, we’re quick to help and answer my many questions. No one made me feel too old or silly. I was extremely satisfied with my experience and am excited to go back. Thank you for the assistance on my learning journey to be a better climber. Cheers!

Experiencia fantástica: LEF is genuinely an amazing place, with a really good balance between bouldering and sports climbing, plus a well equipped weights and cardio room. I climbed there for nearly 6 months before moving, and as good as the facility itself is, the best part is the sense of community among everyone there.

Experiencia fantástica: Super friendly environment for first time/ not-so-experienced climbers! I was anxious that we would feel out of place but it was very welcoming! They have a cardio room with weights, and what appears to be a few rooms for group exercise classes: yoga, group room, and cycling. It's a great workout with a good selection of walls at varying difficulties. I would recommend to any friend, and already have plans to go back again! If you're thinking about it--just do it!!

Experiencia fantástica: I am terrified of heights but my niece Courtney convinced me to try one time. I felt safe with the tutorials and safety gear. Honestly the body harnesses are better grade/more robust and more comfortable than what my work provides for high working spaces. I slightly overcame my fears. I became able to climb higher and higher. I found my limit even if it's the higher part of the kids area haha. I had fun though and that's what counts right?

Experiencia fantástica: Lots of variety: about 10 auto ascenders, lots of boldering, lots of more advanced rope climbing too (Belay and lead climbing), plus a kids boldering area. They start you with a pretty quick orientation on boldering and auto belays, and the staff seems more engaged some other places we’ve climbed. Tables and cubbies for your stuff. Facilities are clean and well maintained. The day pass includes shoes, harness (and free chalk bag if you ask for one).

Experiencia fantástica: One of the best climbing gyms I've been too. I've had a membership for several months while in college and it's been totally worth the money! The auto-belay systems make for a great climbing experience even if you are by yourself!

Experiencia fantástica: Probably the best toprope gym around. I literally take weekend trips here (from Louisville, so 1 hour away) so we can practice lead climbing. Facility is state of the art. Walls are probably like 60 ft tall and the lead has a great overhang on the mid section. Toprope isn't bad either and has some autobelays in case you don't have a partner. Bouldering is also pretty solid. The walls are a bit shorter than what I'm used to though. The different problems can also be more comp(etitive) style but I enjoy them.

Experiencia fantástica: Brought my son and three of his friends here for his sixteenth birthday this summer. Called ahead and stopped in for a tour beforehand. Staff were courteous and helpful, and made sure we had the best experience possible. Summer camps were being held while we were there, but there were still staff members available to accommodate our party. Safety seems to be a high priority at LEF Climbing, and the facility is clean and well managed.

Experiencia fantástica: I love this climbing gym, it's super spacious, and has nice runs. It offers auto belay so no one is needed if you want to climb alone and it has a nice amount of bouldering.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing climbing/bouldering gym. They are consistently setting new routes to keep it fresh and challenging yet fun. Great staff who have a passion for climbing. They have everything from kid-friendly bouldering and top-roping/auto-belay to multi-angle lead climbing. No matter your skill set or experience there’s something to enjoy here.

Experiencia fantástica: A very good climbing facility. There is a bouldering area which is regularly set. I don't often climb on the big wall, but I do know that there are auto-belay devices as well as top rope and a large lead climbing area. On top of that, the staff are always helpful and friendly.

Experiencia fantástica: L'Escalade is awesome! From beginners to advanced climbers, everyone belongs at L'Escalde. The staff are kind, fun, eager to help, and have fostered a real sense of community. The facility is incredible. The climbing and bouldering walls offer the best indoor climbing in Kentucky, by far, and the routes are frequently reset. You can top rope, lead climb, or auto-belay if you don't have a partner. They have all of the equipment you might need on hand and have patient staff ready to instruct you if you are just trying it out or are new the sport. The fitness room is big and the fitness equipment is nicer and cleaner than any of the gyms I've been to in Lexington. The yoga, cycling, training rooms, and locker rooms, are also really nice. The yoga classes and instructors are great, but be sure to sign up in advance because the word is out and space is limited. The only drawback that I'm aware of is that the facility isn't open 24 hours a day.

Experiencia fantástica: Awesome gym! The setting on the lead wall is well thought out, challenging in the best way. Lots of bouldering too! The bathrooms have showers and towels and everything was really clean. The staff is really nice and they don't charge to use their lead ropes. I wish I lived closer to make this my home gym

Experiencia fantástica: The facility is top notch with tons of bouldering problems as well as lead climbing and top rope routes. There is a great fitness gym located inside as well. Staff is very helpful and friendly and the general atmosphere is very communal with most people willing to help others and encourage them when they need it. I recommend visiting this gym even if you've never been on a rock wall before as you will, at the least, have a great time and you may even find a new hobby.

Experiencia fantástica: I've always wanted to get into rock climbing but I honestly never knew where to start. A friend recommended me to L'escalade and after a few times I got a membership. While yes it is a bit pricey it is totally worth it. The facility is top of the line and the atmosphere is great. No matter what skill level you are everyone is super friendly and wants to help each other get better. Even though the climbing gym is the main attraction they have hands down the nicest conventional gym in Lexington. L'escalade has something to offer for everyone it's worth checking out!

Experiencia fantástica: I've climbed at several gyms and I also climb in the wild. This is definitely the best gym I've climbed at so far! It's huge and the routes are well thought out. Chalk dust is minimal and they keep the air very clean. The bouldering pads are thick and deep. There is a kids area sectioned off from the main gym, so that's great. Overall L'Escalade is great.
