Experiencia fantástica: Great school, one of the best around, it's located close to my workplace. I have been going there for on and off for 5 years. One of the originals, Kurt and Amariah are great people with tons of knowledge to share on the martial arts. Oh! And their two twin daughters are adorable. The school offers many great arts which is displayed on many films such as the Jason Bourne films, Book of Eli, John Wick , and many great other action films. The school is MKG which is Sifu Rick Faye' s organization. The lineage is traced back to Guro Dan Inosanto. You have to sign up and check this school, because it offers Jeet Kune Do/Wing Chun, Filipino Martial Arts, Muay Thai, and Panantukan (Filipino Boxing). This is a school you do not want to miss out on. You are talking to a guy whom has many years under his own belt. LOL! Definitely come and meet Kurt, Amariah, and the entire MKG family. And of course as mentioned their two daughters.

Experiencia fantástica: Love it here. I've been going here 2-5 days a week for several months now. Very open to both experienced Martial Artists and completely new beginners (like me). There's a couple advanced classes you have to test into as well. Also very good at promoting local events and seminars spanning a variety of different Martial Arts.

Its brings a lot of great character and a unique style when a student step into a gym, ready to trained. It gives a good positive energy unlike other gyms. A student will learn a effective self defense system. You leave the gym with a smile and cleanse spirit.

Experiencia fantástica: MKG Detroit is a great place to train martial arts. The students here are as friendly, helpful, and welcoming group of people as I have ever met. Sifu Kurt Cornwell is an excellent instructor who teaches with humbleness and humor. His knowledge of martial arts is extensive and his ability to convey it in a simple and direct manner makes taking classes here a real pleasure. Another bonus is the emphasis on fitness. Along with the yoga program you are able to achieve improved conditioning and mobility. If you are interested in beginning or progressing in the martial arts, I highly recommend MKG Detroit!

Experiencia fantástica: Kurt is a great representative of the MKG group, who have always captured my respect with their values of training seriously but having fun in a welcoming environment. From the way he moves it's obvious he has real skills and experience, particularly in Filipino martial arts (Kali & panantukan) as well as JKD (Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do). He also can break things down and explain very clearly. The fact that he knows his art works, combined with just being a nice guy, allows him to be very open-minded and straight forward. He's not looking to be admired or called, "master." He just wants to share the joy of movement and martial arts, is one of the nicest people I know, and what a martial artist and teacher should be.

The teachers & students at MKGD are very welcoming, and immediately made me feel comfortable. Kurt has an insane amount of knowledge and experience across multiple disciplines, and teaches with patience, awareness of individual needs, and a sense of humor that keeps the classes fun. It's made a big difference in my life, I highly recommend!
