Esplanade Fitness Center

Experiencia positiva: I like this place. It's relatively quiet and they play fine-arts (aka "classical") music in the locker-rooms. Many other fitness centers are horribly noisy and cater to a brain-shallow crowd who either feel as though they need visual and aural stimulation all the time, to keep from getting bored and realizing that their inner life is empty, or they are so mentally dull that they don't notice that cacophony. At Esplanade, you can get your fitness needs addressed without having to be bombarded with sound and visual stimulation, as though we were children. The only serious problems, that I've noticed are the Sunday hours (only 8 to noon) and the fact that the pool is sometimes completely reserved by a swim-team from a local school, though those are not peak hours, and the whirlpool tends to be closed too often for one reason or another. On the other hand, if people would stop being so GD shallow and start signing up for memberships there, they would make more money and be able to have longer Sunday hours and get the whirlpool fixed better, etc. !*BY THE WAY*!: The web-site says 6:30am to 7pm M-F and Unstaffed on Sat & Sun. THE TRUTH IS that they open at 5:30am M-F (not certain closing time) and they ARE there on Sat, 8am to 6pm, and Sun, 8am to noon.

The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The lockers and facilities have always been extra clean, but during the pandemic everything was sanitized daily.

Experiencia positiva: Hidden gym located off of Butterfield road connected to a Double Tree Marriott. Does have a weird stench in the locker rooms which is due to poor ventilation. The gym looks like it was retrofitted so the machines are placed separately to the cardio which is separate to the basketball courts. Could stand to be a little cleaner overall but not bad considering the lack of people that come to the gym. Makes me feel like it's my own place.
