Experiencia fantástica: We love the Southside YMCA! My youngest can't wait to go to their child watch, and my oldest loves to utilize the workout equipment. They have numerous fitness progras for all ages and abilities! We love and support the Y!

Experiencia fantástica: The Y South is staffed by the most attentive, caring people in Des Moines. Don't be surprised if there is a pop up soup kitchen for the underserved in the lobby. That is the very reason I pay more than I would have to at a traditional gym, I want to know my hard earned dollars are rolling over to help people in need in my community. The government's not going to do it. The rich aren't going to do it. It's you and me helping out our fellow human and we happen to be getting a little bit of cardio to boot.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm getting my physical therapy with Joe! He got me into the pool when my own husband couldn't. I'm impressed! He has helped me, my husband, and my Dad. Keeping it in the family! Soon I'll be ready for the recumbent bike again and can get back to training for my 5k walkathon!

Experiencia fantástica: All of the YMCAs in the Greater Des Moines Area provide safe and clean spaces to workout and be together in a family environment. The South Suburban YMCA is no exception. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they often have fun events for the whole family to attend such as movie nights and days focused on activities for children.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been a member of the South Suburban Y for years. The director, Tyler, really cares about creating a comfortable atmosphere for people of all fitness levels. Hollie and the front desk crew are always welcoming me by name. I like that it isn't usually crowded. I’m not much for fitness classes but I have always enjoyed the spin classes here. I like that it is a smaller spin room so not so overwhelming. I strongly recommend joining this branch. You can visit all the branches but this is a good one to call home.

Experiencia fantástica: South Suburban Y has an excellent and friendly staff. They provide an assortment of workout classes that will fit anyone's workout needs. I love the body pump class! They have a great pool for children and adults alike. Finally they have a safe, clean, fun, and interactive day care facility for parents who want to workout! Awesome place to go!!!
