Experiencia fantástica: I have been in CrossFit for 5 years now and this is hands down the best gym I have been a part of. The coaching is EASILY the best in town. They spend the time to coach everyone through the movements and not afraid to have some scale as needed. The classes have the community atmosphere that every gym needs. No one here is ever on their own. They all stay till the end and help everyone through each workout. Contender has done a great job even with growing as fast as they have. The facility is also the best I have ever been a part of. The equipment and gym is always taken care of and clean. I had reconstructive knee surgery a year ago and along with working with a PT I used their classes as PT. The coaches and I scaled the workouts accordingly so that it was still safe and effective for coming back. I was cleared by the surgeon after only 4 months. One of the fastest he has ever seen. If you are looking for a CF gym with quality all across the board then this is the only place to go in Corpus Christi. I have been to all of them and none of the others come close.

Experiencia fantástica: I love it here! This is my first time ever doing CrossFit and I’ve now been here a month and I don’t ever want to stop! The staff is so friendly and the environment is great, the people here only ever want to see you succeed and are always there to assist and scale workouts to fit your individual fitness level! I attend morning classes with coach Celestial and she is great, so helpful and always has a smile on her face I look forward to seeing her every morning knowing that she’s going to help me in any way possible

Contender Crossfit is by far one of the most organized and well run gyms. The coaches are knowledgable and involved, and the business as a whole runs very smoothly. It's easy to log into classes, keep track of your workouts, and the programming is phenomenal. Great quality, very professional, and excellent communication. I'm super happy to have found a home here!!

I immediately felt right at home, even though I had a long way to go to get back in shape. The coaches always work to scale workouts for each individual’s abilities, while also pushing us to be our best. Other athletes are super supportive. These athletes and coaches have become my family. Experiencia fantástica: I have been a member for 5 years now and every day brings new challenges. From the group classes (competitions) that are super motivating to the one on one from our Coaches. Coaches immediately recognize your abilities and help you strive to reach your goals. I turned 60 last year, but I feel that because of the movements, motivation from members and coaching at Contenders I can easily go toe to toe with people 10-20 years my juniors. They say your are what you eat, I say you are what you do with your life… Keep on squatting!!

Experiencia fantástica: I'm the type of person that if I workout on my own, I won't push myself. I love that everyone at Condenter is so encouraging and helpful. That workouts are challenging, can be modified to any level and there is no judgment. Coaches are always happy to answer questions. There are showers and lockers available if you like to get ready after a workout to head straight to work. I have been a member since 2019 and I love it.

Experiencia fantástica: Yaz is the best trainer in Corpus Christi! She is professional, skilled and supportive! I can tell I am stronger and have better balance than before I started CrossFit. I’m 71 years old and didn’t realize how important it was to build strength and agility so I can prevent falls. I enjoy the friendships I’ve made at contender and how we encourage each other! The coaches were knowledgable and very involved with the athletes. The staff was friendly and the athletes welcomed me with open arms. Contender CrossFit is a shining example of the camaraderie CrossFit communities should foster! I'll definitely be back!

They go out of there way to make everyone feel included, and ensure you are getting personal feedback for progression. I would recommend this gym for anyone. Experiencia fantástica: This is not your typical Crossfit Gym. This is a “Welcome to the Family, and welcome Home” kind of gym. This is a gym dedicated to its members, and truly invested in trying to be the best place for people to come and get better. Safety is huge here! They never push you to the point your scared you may get hurt, but they will push you to be better. The coach team is great! They’re are grinding everyday to help the gym grow so it can keep pace with the growing demand of its members. As soon as I moved back to Corpus, I got started here and it was the best thing I could’ve done. They have helped me reach levels of fitness I haven’t seen in years! Their motivation keeps me coming every day and it won’t stop! During Covid they proved their loyalty to the members by going out of their way to help people stay I shape ( and sane!) by loaning out EVERY piece of gym equipment practically no questions asked! Show me a big brand gym that does anything like that. These people, these coaches, and fellow members are here for each other and you. If you’re within 100 miles of North padre Island… THIS IS YOUR GYM

Experiencia fantástica: This place and the people in it have changed my life forever. I tried Crossfit probably around 10 years ago in the Houston area and knew I enjoyed the program and atmosphere. However, I never could find a box here in Corpus that really resonated with me and felt like a place I could fit in. I remember passing by Contender while working pretty often, and decided to stop by and check it out. I was immediately engaged in conversation with one of the wonderful owners of the place and was encouraged to try attending. This was over 3 years ago now, and I can’t possibly say enough to do justice to just how great the owners, coaches, and all the other members are. No matter what your skill or fitness level, there is something for you here, and you will always be encouraged and on the right track to do better for yourself, your fitness and personal health. If you’re even remotely thinking about taking your first steps to getting into shape (or let’s be honest, back into shape after all the COVID shutdowns), do yourself the biggest and best favor you ever could and give this gym a shot. I did and I have never looked back, and never will.

Experiencia fantástica: I am from out of state and dropped into Contender Crossfit for a week. Everyone was really welcoming. The trainers were awesome and the owner was really laid back. Honestly these people have a great understanding of the sport but more importantly really care about the community of crossfit. If I am ever back in Corpus I will for sure be coming back.

Experiencia fantástica: Great CrossFit Gym!!!! 5 stars because of the most important things to me in a box, which is: 1. Friendly passionate knowledgable coaches. Every coach I met loves their role and what they get to do. Coach Jackson and Kristal are awesome!!! Ervin (owner) runs the best gym I've seen since I left my home of California. 2. Great programming! It makes a huge difference when you have great workout programming. Plenty of classes/options too if you want more intense athletic training or even something with less impact to be easy on the joints. Also, I love the fact that there are mobility classes and tons of open gym time. Even yoga. Good stuff. 3. Community. The people I have met there are such wonderful people. Friendly and welcoming. Some are becoming my good friends. 4. Quality equipment. This isn't the most important thing to me, but it sure is nice. Tons of Rogue gear and plenty of weights for all. Plenty of goodies from axle bars to crossover symmetry, and much much more. 5. Clean environment. They work hard to keep this place fresh and clean. If you are thinking of trying CrossFit, or looking for a new home...this place is definitely one to visit!
