Experiencia fantástica: Visited SIUC for a short weekend to meet my friends. They are very generous and allowed us to play inside Rec center. It’s huge and has lots of facilities.

Experiencia fantástica: Really nice here. Fully outfitted with everything you could possibly need to get fit at any level. The cardio room is amazing. The lower track is my favorite. I do wish the dumbells were more organized in the weight rooms. The mates can be hard to find.

Experiencia fantástica: The SIU Rec Center is a good option if you’re looking for a lot of space. The Rec Center has more equipment and activities than any other gym around here. It’s also much easier to cancel your membership here than it is at Gold’s Gym in Carbondale in my experience.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been going to the rec center since 2010ish. It's a fantastic facility with everything you could ever need to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I use the sauna routinely.

Experiencia fantástica: My daughter is a student at SIUC. I went to her concert and was blown away by the beauty of the building. The music was fantastic. The John Logan's choir sang, amazing, and SIU band played, amazing. I absolutely loved it.

Experiencia fantástica: Always a great experience at the rec. If you can't find something to do here there is something wrong. What a great asset to our community. There is some work that needs to be done in the locker room, but that is the only negative.

Experiencia fantástica: Ive been trying to get into the habit of going early in the morning before work. It's so nice to walk to the gym in the morning workout then shower before heading to work. I prefer going early in the morning because at night the gym is packed!! I mean it's a great thing, everyone who's there is there for self improvement. The women's locker room is big and has showers and a sauna! I wish they had a nice lounge area with couches and mirrors kind of like the bathrooms at the student center. But it's wonderful the way it is. I wish they had more ellipticals And a food court with healthy food... But I guess that's why I go to the gym now because I eat too much. I love the rec!!

Experiencia fantástica: The gym here is a winner, they have so many machines and free weight, one of the best gyms in Carbondale. Two running circuits and several basketball courts and one futsal court. There is always programs to join where you get trained by a trainer. I recommend this place for health and well being by sports and workout.

Experiencia fantástica: Larger and superior to private facilities. Olympic-size pool, reasonable pricing with discounts for alumni and emeritus, well-managed and safe.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing facility providing nearly everything you might need. Just wish they had a bit more marital arts resources like a ring or wrestling room. Also they have new hours and close earlier but they're still open nearly all day.

Experiencia fantástica: so far I have had a good experience using the rec as a student at SIU. I know some ppl here in their reviews have complaint that it's not fair that the fee is part of their tuition since they don't use it, but don't most universities count Rec stuff in as part of the tuition?

Experiencia fantástica: I have been coming here for six or seven years. I highly recommend the Rec, the amenities it has for the cost is incredible. I love the variety it has to offer I can swim in the pool one day, play basketball on one of many courts another, racquetball another, lift weights in one of the multiple weight rooms and I could go on. I will continue to come as long as I am in the area. It's a great facility for the community and for students.
