Experiencia negativa: Not all YMCA'S are perfect, but accountability is expected. Lap swim lane i reserved for walking & therapy not here! They utilize all lanes for swimming all the time. Today I got to swim with 2 others & a mom with her toddler. Not sure what part of lap swim that falls under. Hot tub discusting, tile floor never gets a cleaning. 2nd visit this week, thought it would fet better. No leadership in building to discuss this with.

Experiencia negativa: the workers got less nicer over the years they’re either still nice or kids 16-24 with no manners who give dirty looks, it’s like i’m going to popeyes with gym equipment

Experiencia negativa: They took down the boxing bags a month and a half ago and still haven't replaced them. I asked when they would get them back and all I got was a motormouth response with nonsense.

Experiencia negativa: Today I had a bad experience with Jade at the front desk, this lady was so rude, While I was trying to figure out what had happened with my daughter's class, she wouldn't even look me in the eyes and was just on her phone. In the end, she didn't solve anything because she didn't want to and left me talking alone. The location has had organization problems with class schedules since the beginning of the year. That's not the fault of us as customers, and I think the people are there to provide support and solve problems. However, this girl has a very hostile attitude. If she doesn't like her job, she could look for another option since she's at the front desk and her attitude doesn't help at all.

Experiencia negativa: This is the worst YMCA i have been to. I used to go to the pool and for straight a month the pool was not cleaned, literally there were stuff inside the pool and same thing for the next month. When i complained to the front desk, they said okay you can cancel your membership if you dont want to come. Perfect customer service skills! Please fix your stuff, you guys were good before!!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Diego from the front desk is so welcoming. My friend was visiting for the 1st time & she got a wonderful first impression of the Y thanks to him. I really appreciate his friendly, relaxed & professional demeanor. In regards to instructors, Sarah Utso is the best. She's hilarious, talented & caring. I've been taking her zumba class for years now & find it so fun. Plus, she's probably the only instructor there that NEVER calls out or cancels class. Please hire more humans like Diego & Sarah!

Experiencia negativa: This is by far the worst YMCA I have ever been to. Their policies for locker room allocations are completely out of wack children are only allowed in the all gender bathroom where any person can go in including creepy men who followed me and my 3 year old daughter around until I ran out with her to the woman’s locker room where we were berated because a woman didn’t want my three year old daughter to look at her. So the safety and well being of our children are of no concern but some self conscious woman are to protected again innocent children. I have no words and this facility should be ashamed of themselves!

Experiencia negativa: Avoid this place at all costs. Staff is inexperienced, rude, and have "God complex". Overcrowded pools which can not be used by children who can swim. Only youth 14 years and older can use lap swimming pool. Impossible to sign up for any lessons.

Experiencia fantástica: It's great. It's LGBTQIA+ ally/advocate and safe space. The employees are all very friendly. The only problem is the guests that refuse to wipe down the equipment after they use it... the disgusting, filthy, entitled guests that go there are the only problem.

Experiencia fantástica: I like that the Y is a non-profit organization that invests in people. Great place, friendly caring atmosphere, the employees and volunteers really care about helping people. It's clean and there have been a lot of new renovations all donor funded. LOVE the brand new cardio equipment and swimming pools.

Experiencia positiva: If you want to go to a health club that has it all in one place at deal of a membership price and you live in Burbank, this is the place for you. Gym... Check. Pool... Check. Classes... check. Steam room... check. Spa... check. Sauna... check Friendly Staff... double check! My only gripe with the place is that both times I've had a membership here, I've managed to get sick because other members who are obviously sick still insist on coming in to work out in the place and get into the sauna to burn out the sickness. Awesome place though!

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience with the Burbank YMCA, don't recommend it! We took our daughter here for a month for swim classes. During the last class we had to rinse off using a cold shower (apparently there were issues with the heater), and there weren't enough changing rooms, so our daughter had to wait for one while she was freezing cold. We then decided to cancel our membership. Our daughter was on a wait list for a class and the supervising instructor told us we could wait until the last day of the month to cancel our membership for the next month, in case spots would open up last minute. We went ahead and signed up with a different YMCA and cancelled the Burbank membership, three days before the end of the month - but were then told that we had to cancel five days the end of the month. We were charged for another full month, but were told we could put in a refund request. We didn't hear anything back for weeks, and when we called to inquire we were told that the refund request was denied and that the supervisor "didn't speak for membership", and we ended up having to pay for two YMCA memberships.

Experiencia negativa: After being a family member of YMCA for so many years i feel so disappointed in this location for hiring young adults who don’t have the skills to greet their guests and help properly. After working outside for months during covid with my family , my daughter and I tried to work inside but left with disappointment due to a faculty member by the name of Silva. She was not able to pull up our information and kept telling me I was inactive and my card was bringing up someone else’s name. I felt as if i was being convicted of stealing some body else’s card. After 20 minutes of arguing with me i had my husband send us his card and then she said “Oh yeah you are active??!!!!”Then she wouldn’t allow my daughter to go in with me . The customer service is below zero in this location so if you can join another location do so.

Experiencia fantástica: This property and staff are fantastic. The only reason that I had to leave was due to relocating. From Jamal in member services who is the epitome of professional and kind to the people manning the front desk. When you enter the facility this YMCA is one of the best. When I canceled my membership to move on to my next step in life I was given a handshake a smile and good luck no jumping through hoops or cancellation fees nothing but customer service. If I'm ever back in Burbank I will come back to this YMCA because of the staff and because the YMCA is continually updating and making their facilities better for their Community. Fantastic job. Thank you for everything.

Experiencia negativa: I have sent two emails about the women's sauna. Older women use it as a dressing room and leave the door open. This is unfair to people who use it for heat and comfort. It also waste energy. I did not receive a response to my first email and sent a second one today.

Experiencia positiva: My family and I have been involved with the Burbank Y for over 12 years. I didn't give the Y 5 stars because 5 stars means I'm perfectly satisfied with all levels of service and the facilities and I'm not. I joined the Y in 2006 to rehabilitate my right arm after breaking my shoulder and to get back in shape. They had a first class fitlinxx system then that was really fantastic to work with. They also had a full time staff of trainers on duty to instruct you on the usage and operation of the machines. They helped you keep track of your workouts. There was an incentive program of prizes for when you hit your weight lifted goals. All of this slowly went away. More cardio machines came in and it seemed at the cost of staffing. Over the years more renovations, new machines were bought and staff cutbacks were made. The result, new rooms, new machines and no staff to instruct a member on how to use them. Which is all right. I don't lift anymore. I understand how to run a treadmill and recumbent bike. Moving on to Aquatics. When we first joined family swim times seemed more generous. Lap swim times were very accommodating. You could come in and get a lane or share one most any hour of the day. Over the years this changed. This past winter and spring the pool was closed from 2-3. This used to be the best time to go swimming in the afternoon! From 1:30 to 3:00. People have gone back to work. Mom's are getting ready to go get their kids from school. The rest of the world has an hour and a half to swim! Recently the Aquatics dept started closing all the lap lanes during swim instruction times even when though only half the pool is being used for instruction. There are still 2 lap lanes open that could be utilized by members for lap swimming. All that said, the pool is the best thing about the Y. It's why I continue to come and where I spend the lion's share of my time. The staff on the deck is best. Jen, the director does a fabulous job given everything she has to juggle - laps, classes, lessons, CDC, employees, etc. The guards are conscientious and well trained. The instructors all put forth a lot of effort to ensure everyone in their classes gets a good workout and has fun. Me, I'm a machine. I swim laps. Lots of laps. Finally, membership and facilities. Membership hasn't really changed over the years. They're mostly young, friendly and cheerful. If you need an answer to anything but a general question ask for the MOD. They're stickers for the rules. If you're from out of town have ID ready and they'll be happy to accommodate you from what I seen. Overall, the Y is clean and tidy. The family and Men's locker rooms are nice. The Men's Locker Room at one time had a lounge area with a pool table, a couch and tv. Nice for hanging out after your workout. Then the age limit was lowered and that went away rather quickly with the under 18 crowd. The pool table was thrashed. It and the couch were removed never to be replaced. Now that room is being remodeled into God knows what. So... All in all... a good facility. Parking is something from the 11th level of Dantes Inferno. If you're looking for a great adults only workout gym, join 24hr fitness. If you're looking for a family friendly place, that's community conscious, that's friendly, where the staff knows your name, where your kids are safe 'til 10 at night M-F, that's clean, has great classes, reasonably priced for today's economy and generally accommodating to everybody's schedule, then consider joining the Burbank YMCA.

Experiencia positiva: One of my favorite Y's, and I've been to Y's all over the Western states, because I often travel for work. The maintenance, cleanliness, and repair of machines is very good. I would give it 4 1/2 stars, but there are no half-stars.

Experiencia negativa: The little kids that go to basketball are annoying. The staff is super lazy and they don't even have the correct schedules. Please improve your disipline.

Experiencia positiva: Kind of over did it at my regular Y so I came here to use the steam room to get my lactic acid down and work out my legs. It's a lot of minor things and the fact the receptionist was the only courteous staff member I encountered, the rest were a bit I abrupt. For a workout and a swim west Valley Y is still the best. This one is an oddly layer out maze over 4 stories.

Experiencia positiva: This is the nicest (cleanest and most modern) Y I've been to. However customer service has gone down the drain. The front desk people are mediocre. They used to have friendly young staff who were energetic and would greet all members, now they have older staff who are grumpy. This month they stopped towel service. It used to be included for all members. Even after increasing our rates recently they said that towel service became too expensive. Also, they remodeled the weight room around 6 months ago and got rid of a lot of the good 'ol weights and replaced them with machines and cross fit type stuff. In the past I'd dare to say this was close to being a hard core gym with a lot of regular lifters. Now the weight room is a teen hangout trying stuff that they saw on Instagram. All the teens come in groups and they are loud. This gym isn't what it used to be.
