Experiencia negativa: I haven’t gone to this gym for a long time, yet they keep charging me. It’s been very stressful trying to deal with the billing. Be careful and read the contract carefully before joining.
If you subscribe to a recurring service without an end date, which most are, you are required to cancel that service if you no longer which to use or pay for it. We were very clear about that when you signed up. You have been notified dozens of times since you first went past due and never responded until the account was closed and referred to collections. When you came in, we agreed to a lower balance and let you make payments. You then went home and wrote this review. You could have come to the club to cancel, mailed us a letter, or even called us and we’d send you instructions to cancel online. There are no “gotchas” in the contract you signed, this was a matter of personal responsibility.

Experiencia positiva: Always liked going to GA Fitness as it’s usually not too crowded and overall, the staff is very nice. But recently, there is an individual there (not sure if he owns the place) that usually puts the weights back and he usually does it in between sets. The last time i was there, i was using a machine and i put a 25lb plate on the machine’s rack and went to to get a heavier plate. he scolded me saying only 45lb plates go there. I understand to put the weights back when done but i really do not want to have to walk across the gym to get a desired plate with this individual being the re-rack police. Always walking around with his bedazzled rhinestones of a workout shirt. Just irritating.
Hi Percy, thank you for your feedback. There are a few members who try extra hard to keep the place neat and occasionally overstep when they think someone is leaving a mess. Not sure who wears the rhinestones, but we'll keep an eye out.
The owner doesn't usually correct a member unless it is a safety concern or the equipment or facility are being abused.
Experiencia positiva: The gym is great. It gets a little crowded during class time, but the gym is great. Very friendly staff. It is a little expensive but a great place and a great location

Large center that still feels personal; clean and safe; lots of options--join classes, work on your own, whatever is best for you. But the most important feature is their amazing staff! They listen to you and get to know you. And if, like me, you decide to work with a trainer, they will connect you with the professional best suited to your goals. My trainer, Lindsay, creates weekly programs that move me forward, taking into account my age (70) and my physical history. In just 2 months, I've lost weight, added muscle and improved my balance, strength and endurance. She's fabulous; they all are at GA Fitness!

Experiencia fantástica: Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming. Paul, Charles, Joesea, just a few of the guys at GA Fitness that have helped me tons on my fitness journey. The equipment is in good shape, and the gym is lively, usually quite a few people throughout the day which is a good sign for me! They've got a wide variety of personal trainers if you're looking to improve even more so, or looking for someone to guide you, help you get to where you want to be both physically and diet wise. 5/5 Easy.

With more space and more equipment than 99% of clubs in the entire county and only about 30% of the membership capacity, it makes me curious to learn about the experience you had.

Experiencia fantástica: Cannot recommend enough. The owner actually cares about this facility, you'll see him out on the floor maintaining the equipment, and if something is broken it is addressed right away. Plenty of equiptment to use, classes, sauna, etc. We love GA Fitness!

Experiencia fantástica: Love this gym, always guaranteed a warm welcome and all the equipment you could imagine. Some people have criticised the lack of windows etc but in truth what would you look at? I'm too busy focusing on my routine to care. Users are respectful and clean up after themselves, which wasn't the case back in London. For two people membership is 69 USD, which to be honest is the best investment of 69 bucks I spend each month. Keep it up, team, you are doing great.

Experiencia positiva: Been here since the beginning when it was Gold's Gym. It's a great place and atmosphere to workout. There is a little bit of an annoyance with broken machines/equipment not being fixed in a timely fashion, but most gyms operate the same way.
Hi Corey, we certainly understand your frustration. We're repairing equipment as quickly as we can get parts/ or in some cases, we're at the mercy of a repair company, which we've just changed again to find better response.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent gym. GF is very well equipped with multiple platforms and bumper plates, as well as a plethora of machines and other equipment. If you have an interest in olympic weightlifting (snatch and clean and jerk) you will be set here. I will say that the gym could use more windows though, and having a punching bag would be nice as well.

Chris is always checking in to see if I need anything and keeping me motivated. 24 hr access is nice and the pricing is reasonable compared to other gyms in the area. This is my favorite gym so far and I would recommend Atlanta Fitness to anyone who wants to improve their health & fitness. Keep up the good work!
Experiencia positiva: People seem nice in this small gym. Teachers were really nice. I like that it has many classes. However, there was only one staff in the child care, she seemed very exhausted(dinner time). Wish they had at least 2 staffs, because as a mom, I know how hard it is to watch all the kids by oneself even when the numbers are low. The machines look a bit old, and not much windows to get sunshine.. Still debating which gym I should choose.
Thank you for your feedback, Breeze, we're always trying to improve our club, so even comments we cannot immediately act on are welcome. We made a lot of sacrifices to be the only small business gym in the area to survive the pandemic, and were the only club in the area that did not bill their members during the shutdown, so a lot of planned upgrades were put on hold. Still, the equipment is high quality and built to last for decades and we do keep it maintained.
We'd love to have more help in childcare, but finding help has been very difficult, which may be why it is an 8 to 12 mile drive to the next club offering childcare.
We'd love to welcome you to our family, but we understand if you don't feel like we're a good fit.

Lots of cardio and free weights equipment and a scheduled packed full of group classes. The gym has a wonderful community vibe, especially in the group fitness rooms. You will make friends to encourage your fitness journey right away. There’s also a sauna, tanning beds and CHILDCARE!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: I like the fact that I can send my teenage son to the gym unaccompanied. I tried to get him signed up with a personal trainer but due to his class schedules, he could not commit to the time. At times he will work out with his friends and other times he is comfortable going alone. The staff there are very friendly, courteous and keeps an eye on them to make sure they don't injure themselves or other patrons. One of the staff even shared some pointers and tips to help with his work out routine. This facility is well maintained, clean, and the monthly membership costs are pretty reasonable too! Would highly recommend this place!

Experiencia fantástica: I absolutely love this gym! I have tried many over the years but this one was the first I really felt at home. The staff and trainers are so professional and welcoming. They have a great variety of classes and every thing is clean. My favorite class is Body Combat. It is challenging and always interesting. The instructors make it fun and are encouraging while offering choices for all levels throughout the class. My week would not be complete without my fitness family at Georgia Fitness

She’s very supportive of all levels and always gives great tips on how to improve your form, while making sure everyone has a great time too. Highly recommend the gym and the classes. All the teachers I’ve had are amazing, but Kaye is my favorite!

Experiencia positiva: I'd like to share this little incident I had with GF. Back in June of this year, I signed up my son with a personal trainer at this facility. I told the gentleman (Felix) that I wanted my son to spend his summer learning how to workout. So it was a three months session, ending on August 31. I guess Felix forgot to put that in the contract because at the end of August they continued drafting the September's fee. I tried numerous times to explain the situation through the trainer and phone calls. Finally someone called back. Long story short, he said that Mr. Felix was no longer there and the contract clearly indicated that after three months, it became a month to month service. I was frustrated and began to lose my composer. I said my son is 14 yr. old, the summer ended and he went back to school. I had specifically told Mr. Felix that at the beginning. I demanded to have my money refunded in a not very pleasant tone. Days went by and I thought to myself, well let's just chalk it down as a loss. I called in one last time and a gentleman apologized that the process took a bit longer but the refund was on its way. I thanked him and felt deeply embarrassed for the way I acted before. So Charles, if you're reading this, I apologize for the unpleasant things that I've said, and thank you. Brian D.
Hi Brian, this is not meant to be argumentative, but due to the public nature of this post, this situation needs at least a limited explanation. Felix did leave a few days after you signed up for PT. Your signature appears on the Automatic Renewal to month-to-month line of the agreement, so that is how the system billed it. Without a written notice of cancellation in accordance with the signed agreement, we could not know no to bill again. Imperfect as we all are, Felix wasn't known for being dishonest, so the first assumption is that the agreement was signed as intended. The trainers have been instructed that members wishing to cancel are to be brought to the front desk immediately, and have been reminded again since you called a couple of weeks ago. A few hundred dollars here or there is not worth ruining a relationship, which is the key feature we strive for in our club. Because we pay CC fees both for the original charge and for the refund, it was only responsible that we encouraged you to use the sessions vs. a refund. Please also keep in mind that by the letter of the signed agreement, a refund was not warranted, but we gave you the benefit of a misunderstanding in hopes of preserving our relationship.
You're not happy, and we have to own that our team let you down in one way or another, so I don't consider this review to be unfair. I hope we have a chance to prove a better experience in the future. Either way, I am sorry that we did not serve you as expected and we will use this to improve. Good luck to you and young Mr. Duong.

Experiencia negativa: I recently decided to try out a body combat class at this gym with an instructor (her name is Ms.Kaye, as I saw it on the class schedule). I was very uncomfortable with how this instructor conducted her class. The gyms I have visited have instructors that motivate and encourage everyone. I believe that is what makes a great instructor, someone who is there to teach and create an enthusiastic atmosphere. This instructor did the opposite throughout her class. The way she conducted her class was by calling out people with a sarcastic and critical tone. She even mocked one of the girls attending the class because she was not doing exactly what she was showing. I felt very uncomfortable, and it was difficult to exercise knowing that she could call me out or shame me. I felt discouraged throughout the class. She was extremely rude, and I will for sure never attend her class again. I think she must understand that not everyone who attends her class is in great physical condition. For example, some people have back pain, pain in their shoulders, or any other area that might prevent them from doing what she’s showing. These classes are supposed to help people exercise more, not degrade people.

Experiencia negativa: They do not follow CDC recommendations. I walked in with my mask on and the person who was supposed to show me inside the gym was not wearing the mask. Then when the manager spoke to me, HE WAS NOT WEARING THE MASK even when I was wearing it (IT IS A CDC RECOMMENDATION, NOT MANDATORY, BUT IF YOU REPRESENT THE GYM YOU MUST BE THE EXAMPLE OF WHAT THE CDC RECOMMEND). The manager told me that they "respect" the 6 feet apart, which is not true as he was speaking in front of me without a mask and without 6 feet apart, which I found to be very disrespectful. All machines are full, they have no distance between the machines, all areas are enabled to be used at the same time reason why I felt very uncomfortable by the moment I entered. Truly disrespectful staff.

They had several locations east of Atlanta until they reduced it down to only one (maybe two with the second being the one in buford) so I can speak from experience on the changes I have seen. The new owner has definitely made huge improvements on this gym. Equipment use to be out of order for weeks before anything was done and the wifi was not the greatest. And the cancellation process has always been a nightmare from the stories I have heard from people I know. But now you will not find any of that. You will find issues being addressed quickly with gym equipment being well maintained. The wifi has been greatly improved which I think is very important since I stream my music. The bathrooms (men at least) have been maintained and well kept. And there are plenty of classes to take if you so desire. Tanning beds are also available which is a plus to maintain a tan when its winter time. If I could stay here I would but when you move you're forced to find another fitness center. All this is to say this facility had everything I needed after having gone to LA Fitness, Planet Fitness, Lifetime Fitness, and Golds Gym at a reasonable price. The new owner has made it even better. If you are in the area I would give this gym a try.

They make you feel welcome at whatever level you are. And the people who come to the gym are very friendly. I love this gym.

Experiencia fantástica: This is the best gym in this area. I have been a member at Lifetime for 3 years and at LA Fitness before the pandemic. Lifetime got too costly. Lifetime is like a country club with fees to match. LA is cheaper but not enough for what you get. It has too many members and not enough of anything to go around. The staff do try though. However, it can feel like a jungle for members like me. Lifetime got me accustomed to a posh setting. I loved it. Here at Georgia Fitness it’s a perfect fit for me. Unlike Lifetime, it’s affordable; reasonably price. I’m an avid gym goer and need access to all types of weights, cable and pull up machines. This place has it all and more. In addition, there’s plenty for everyone to use. There’s even a CrossFit room and a cycling room. Childcare is also available. I don’t need it but my friend used it when she came a year ago. She has a 4 year old. She liked it. She’s a choosy mom. Her son liked it too. In fact, I drove by it this week with him and he spoke of it fondly. Most importantly, this place is clean and the staff is friendly. Everyone does his job and safety procedures are in place. I feel safe. Members are respectful and the environment feels warm. Everyone goes in and does his own thing. Working out is incredible here. There are also multiples of equipment pieces that you may use to diversify your workout: bosu balls, weighted balls, jump ropes and tension cords. Locker rooms are spacious. There are cubbies on the floor for extra storage as well. Nowadays, the price is right. It’s an opportune time to join. It’s usually more expensive; as it should be, it offers a lot. I’m excited to be here. I’m glad I took a chance and came in!

This is a systemic issue in this industry but the gal of these people to treat a long term customer is just unacceptable. Beware prior to signing up! I am adding my thoughts to your response 1. Customers typically sign up to a brand “GA Fitness” and rarely look at owners or ownership changes. Until you told me, we had no idea that management changed 2. The reason my son came to you is to stop next month’s billing since his dad lost his job. He was trying to help in anyway he could 3. Lesson learned for us we sure are not coming back Update 5/31/19 - We truly appreciate this business agreeing to credit the last month’s charge. We were just notified by our credit card company that the dispute was resolved in our favor. Thanks so much GA fitness
Hi Vidya - we hate you feel this way, your son was not told rudely at all in fact it was a good conversation with your son. We do apologize he signed an agreement and on that agreement it states the cancellation policy which is a 30 day notice, he requested to cancel TWO days prior to a payment, therefore it would have fell within that 30 day notice, additionally he signed up with the previous ownership and management, not us. We do encourage everyone to actually read their agreement to understand all terms and conditions. It’s unfair to slander us due to not reading the cancellation terms.

Georgia Fitness cares more about their members then any other gym I've ever seen. It's a clean club with lots of equipment and programs to help you reach your goals. Great gym for the price. Awesome value. The staff are super nice and knowledgeable.

Experiencia positiva: Good amount of cardio equipment and if something is not working they fix it quickly. Nice staff. There aren't enough yoga classes on the group fitness schedule and the Barre isn't workout Barre it's more like ballet.

We offer as many classes at the moment as our current member interest can support.
LES MILLS BARRE™ is a modern version of classic balletic training. It is a 30-minute workout designed to shape and tone postural muscles and build core strength.
We offer more group fitness classes than any club in 30024 and 30518. It is something we pride ourselves on and seek to expand the schedule further. We hope to see you again soon!

Experiencia negativa: I would give o stars if I could. Be aware! This gym bought my gym so I got stock with them. I decided to stop my original membership to get a special they were offering. Very bad decision.I was miss led and lied to and ended up paying for my original membership plus two times the amount I was paying after annual fees, etc. I was told twice they made a mistake and that they would fix it. They never did and sent me to collections! Unbelievable!The person that helped me with my contract is no longer there. Of course his not there. They are horrible. Stay away!

Experiencia negativa: This club just like the location in Buford is owned by the same guy, total scam. Don’t give out your information as they will just bill you for months or years on end. Personal training is a joke because the trainers don’t last more than 3 weeks and quit. All staff tried to be friendly and all but management doesn’t care and is rude and will disrespect members. Avoid this place.
Leo is an a disgruntled ex-employee of the previous ownership. He is part of cause of problems we've been having with previous members. This club was sold to new owners in December 2018 and is no longer associated with any of the other clubs or old ownership. We have all new ownership and staff. These remarks are unfounded and libelous.

Please take precautions if going to this gym and read any documents thoroughly. New Management has arrived in Dec ‘18 and they are clearky hungry for revenue, now a "new" $49.99 has been withdrawn without our consent. My wife already signed her cancellation notice but it won't come into effect until Jan '20 based on the original two year agreement with the fine print they did not divulge at the time of signing. Beware ! This new management is VERY dishonest and will steal your money.
Hi Ignacio - you signed up under previous ownership and management so how would we be shady when we had nothing to Do with your signup process? The $49.99 annual fee has been in place for over 3 years AND YOU PAID IT LAST YEAR ON 4/1/18. it’s nothing new. There is a cancellation fee on any contract agreements, and you guys signed off on the terms and policies. In way does that make us hungry for revenue for sticking to an agreement your wife signed and did not read. We have been thoroughly cleaning up and turning the facility around and have received many many compliments in doing so, it hurts us to get a negative review due to your own negligence and blaming us as new management for this.

Hi Justin - We apologize you had this issue with us, you joined with the previous ownership and management, everything has changed hands since December 2018 and we are very thorough on explaining everything and reviewing agreements being very transparent. We do encourage everyone to ask questions and review the agreement within the first 7 days for any discrepancies or questions, your agreement was signed and you were emailed a copy to review.
Experiencia negativa: The gym itself has rundown equipment, broken and unusable sections of the gym, and half the gym is reserved for training programs. Staff seems nice enough, though. Broken WiFi, no service inside of the gym. You can tell they cheap out on everything that they possibly can for this gym, from equipment to services, they don’t even have dedicated lockers just open cubbies. If you are looking for a decent gym for a fair price, this is the wrong place. You’re better off doing jumping jacks in your garage It’s also a complete scam, I got roped into a 3 month membership program that some rep convinced me was a good deal. Then when I called in to cancel the membership, they lied to my face and confirmed that it was, even though apparently I’m required to sign it in person with a pen and paper(which is unreasonable in itself). They then charged me on a canceled credit card, and billed me for another 3 months and late fees without notifying me. Incredibly shady business practices, not even fair to say business practices more like a running scam. From the quality of service, equipment, and customer service, you can tell they have no respect for customers and don’t care about running an ethical establishment.

Experiencia fantástica: I almost just gave it four stars, because there's always room for improvement, but theres nothing I'd complain about with this gym. The equipment is clean and serviceable, there is plenty of it, and the locker rooms are clean and comfortable.

It has many options for group classes or to work out on your own but personally I have been very happy taking personal training sessions with Jasem! Experiencia negativa: I signed up for the monthly membership in which I was told I would NOT be charged the extra membership cancellation. After having an awful experience with one of the employees I ended my membership. Almost immediately after that, I was charged an extra $240. Getting ahold of someone who knows anything is like finding a needle in a haystack. This is such a painful experience and so disappointing. I would NEVER recommend this gym to anyone. Please do not sign up they will rob you blind!

Experiencia positiva: I had some issues cancelling but Albert helped me with no issues. Gym is nice but make sure you ask lots of questions and get things in writing before signing up so you know what you’re signing up to and the fees.
Experiencia negativa: Poor customer service. Moving. Took 2 calls, 1 visit and 1 email to get a manager to process cancellation. After this time still had to wait 30 days and one more charge to account! And not nice about it.

Experiencia negativa: This place is a rip-off!! BEWARE!!! There are lots of hidden fees. ***UPDATE- See the awesome response from the owner basically calling me a liar!!!! Instead of responding that in the future they would be more careful to make sure new clients are aware of all fees, or they will work to improve their process, the owner doesn’t acknowledge the mistake could be on their end and blames the customer!!!!! My husband signed up a few weeks after I did, also with Jeff, and was not told of the $49.99 fee or the 30 day cancellation notice. He was also not given any paperwork. Shame on us for not demanding the contract in writing and trusting that this employee was honest and truthful with the information we were receiving. NO INTEGRITY!!! When I signed up with Jeff, I was told I would pay first and last months gym fees. I was told if I cancelled the last month fees were being paid that day. When I went in to cancel my membership (you are required to cancel in person) there wasn’t a manager there at that time and I was told a manager would call me the next morning and email me paperwork to sign in order to cancel. When I didn’t hear from anyone in two days, I called back. Again, a manager wasn’t available so I gave my number and email and was told someone would call me before the end of the day. After not receiving a call that day, I called again the following day and was finally able to speak to Andrew who said he would cancel my membership over the phone. I was told that I would be paying for March ( I spoke to Andrew on February 28) AND I would also be paying for April because you are required to give a 30 day notice of cancellation. I was not told this but did not argue. When I signed up with Jeff, he took me in his office and pulled up the forms on his computer. He read through a few things and then had me sign the electronic signature pad on his desk to agree to the terms. He NEVER mentioned the 30 day notice NOR the $49.99 quarterly fee that I was charged yesterday (April 2). Also, they don’t print the paperwork or offer a hard copy. This Should have been a red flag. I also have a $14.99 fee that was charged the day I was finally able to speak to a manager (Andrew) to cancel the membership. I called today at 8:30 AM to ask why I was charged $49.99 and $14.99. Guess what, there isn’t a manager there!! The gentleman I spoke to said he could explain the $49.99 because he’d been receiving calls about that fee the last few days. Obviously I’m not the only one who was unaware of this fee. He had no idea why I’d been charged the $14.99 and kept saying “I signed the agreement and the quarterly fee is in the agreement.” No, I signed an electric pad on a desk while I was being asked questions and a form was being completed for me by their representative. This is an unethical way to scam customers. You can’t even voice your concerns since managers are routinely unavailable. Save yourself a headache and major money by joining another athletic facility.***UPDATE*** I called back and spoke to Tamela who is looking into the $14.99 fee for me. She was helpful and is going to credit the $49.99 back. She assured me no other charges would be issued from this gym and my membership is cancelled. I will change my rating once I have the credit and the $14.99 has been resolved. I was told to email her a copy of the bank charge. I’ve tried to email her directly twice and both emails have bounced back undeliverable. I called to verify her email address but it isn’t working. After reading some other reviews, I found the customer service email and sent it to that address. Fingers crossed this is resolved.***Received an email from Pamela stating the $49.99 is in process to be credited but told they could not find the $14.99 charge even with the screenshot of my back account and gave me the number to resolve it with their billing company myself.

Experiencia negativa: After their change to a subscription service, they are practically committing highway robbery I am back from school for winter break, and they had me sign up for a membership which I then canceled before I left. For using the gym for a grand total of 5 weeks, they billed me 230 dollars. When you are signing up for their services, they don't ask you if you want to read the contract, and they don't mention the fees associated with the membership. It's all legal I guess, but it's about as deceptive as car dealerships. With all this money, they don't even bother to repaint the lines in their parking lot. These guys are all about the money grab
