Experiencia positiva: The Aquatic Center’s website reads that the pool water temperature is “about 82 degrees”. During my family’s visit in early January 2026, the pool was in the low-to-mid 70s. I may be in the minority opinion here, but that temperature is far too cold for anyone to reasonably enjoy during the middle of winter. The sauna and steam room located in the aquatics area were welcomed after a dip in the pool.

Experiencia fantástica: My friend and I brought four kids to try the giant inflatable obstacle course, and we had a great time! Every staff member we encountered, from the front desk to the lifeguards, was friendly and helpful. The course itself was fantastic, though it empties into 13-foot-deep water, so strong swimming skills are a must. Overall, it was a fun and safe experience, and we’re already planning our next visit!

Experiencia negativa: The real truth. After a year and a half of being a member at the aquatic center I'm sad to say I'm revoking my membership for multiple reasons. The state of the men's locker room is unacceptable from a health and safety standpoint, I have viewed members spitting on the ground, and hair everywhere in the shower stalls, and drains. Not to mention the constant smell of BO and stagnate air as soon as you enter the front lobby. As you move into the shared pool/wet Suna/dry sauna area the filth continues. The sauna appears to be cleaned once a day, there has been loose hair smeared on the walls and seats, visible peeling and cracking in the paint, as well as members using unknown essential oils to their discretion. Not only is this a safety risk for certain members but it is outright ignorant. The wet sauna and men's locker room also frequently smells of BO. The staff seems to ignore the state of the entire facility. There is no dedicated cleaning staff to my knowledge, and it shows through the building. The only "clean" area is the gym since there are barley any members inside. I would love to stay the convince of a pool/sauna and gym for the price is unbeaten anywhere else, but I leave feeling discussed every time. As with many other members experience the pool is often closed with no posting online or even a Facebook account to let members know. In the times I've had to call to see if the pool was open, I was treated like I asked the world of the staff.

Experiencia negativa: The facility is nice, STILL really upset that they closed the hot tub, not to mention just dry walked around it. It looks awful! Also, when did it turn into a 3rd world. country? So many rude ignorant people going here now with zero respect for others. Since being in a car accident I need to use the stairs to get out of the pool and people have their kids sitting in life jackets on the steps??? You do know there's a kiddy pool right behind it right? Not to mention not one lifeguard yelled at them for it. It took over 20 mins till they moved so I could get out!

Experiencia fantástica: I've started attending the gym here and I like it a lot so far. Not too busy even for the new year, and plenty of space. May update: I still really like it. Whenever I show up (the time can vary) I'm able to get a good workout in. Sometimes there's no treadmill but there's always space for weightlifting and stretching. And everyone is so friendly to each other, which is nice.

The locker rooms can get awkwardly crowded at times, due to the cramped spaces. But overall, after 5 visits, I'm pleased with my decision to come over from the Y.

Experiencia fantástica: LOVE the Tonawanda Aquatic Center! My kids beg me to take them there and they always have a wonderful time. They always have multiple lifeguards on duty. The facility is clean and well kept. Prices are very reasonable, especially for Town of Tonawanda residents.

Experiencia negativa: This place is alright but the hours of operation are terrible. They close without warning or they put a sign up and expect that this sign is sufficient. I had to beg them to extend their hours and all they did was stop closing the pool in the middle of the day. Today they were closed because they had Santa clause there…. I pay for a membership to workout. I don’t care about Santa clause. Also the family plan is not exactly a family plan. I believe it holds two people and if you make a plan for yourself nobody can be added to it… what was the point of me buying a family plan if I wasn’t able to add a family member to it? So my wife paid for her plan at full price just like I did. RIP OFF! They need to just be open 24/7 and close the pool at night.

Experiencia fantástica: Super clean and well supervised pool. There are always lanes for lap swimming. I wish showers were not on a timer but small annoyance compared to the satisfaction of how well the center is run!

Experiencia positiva: To whom it may concern, My son entered the deep end, and drowned in 12ft of water and was able to come back up. I'n the process of helping himself out he bumped his head OR lifeguard saving him and bumping his head. Lifeguard didn't know , why my son was complaining of his head. She had no story for me. She had nothing to say besides to talk to other lifeguards offering ice packs. I asked numerous of times and was forced to ask me son. What happened? To later find out, "No mommy I didn't just bump my head, I drowned". My son is ok, he left with a bump on his head and cheek bone. Paramedics & police came, checked him out. Everything seemed to be ok, minus brushing. I told them I believe my son panicked when he jumped in , he can't swim and tried to get back to safety. The lifeguard didn't even speak up to say she saved him, later he told me she did. I didn't see the lifeguard again once emergency help arrived. Until everything was over and they left. She was in the corner talking to other lifeguards. I did thank Staff for what I witnessed , showing concern with my son. Moving forward so this doesn't happen to anyone else . I am suggesting that each child is tested or parental consent is given before even entering the pool site. Today my son was only asked his age . My child is 7 in 2nd grade. A bracelet was given to my 10 year old that can swim very well and my son that is 7 in second grade and no swimming skill. After speaking to the supervisor he did say that the lifeguards ask age and grade. Age and grade aren't the best questions, the question should be can you swim and a safety test should be given. Maybe for non swimmers a life vest can be offered to still enjoy the blow up activity in 12 ft of water. Thank God my child was ok. I have to take accountability as well because I assumed a safety test would be performed . At check in the lady said that the lifeguards will handle everything with the deep end . I trusted that, and should have not. I just knew they would turn him around considering he can't swim. Yet I hear a loud horn and yelling to get out the pool and my son is climbing out the pool into a guards space. This incident is a parents worst nightmare. All staff were kind and helpful. I'm only reaching out so that moving forward this doesn't happen again. Things could have been worse. Definitely a SAFETY CONCERN at the aquatic center for non swimmers in general.

Experiencia fantástica: Great facility! I joined to work on my overall fitness and to improve my swimming strokes, breathing and endurance. A few minutes in the sauna after a swim is great to relax sore muscles.

Experiencia fantástica: Been coming here my entire life, my parents even brought me here as a baby, came here for swimming my entire childhood, was on the swim team here for years, and even now still come as a 31 year old man. I do miss the old layout of our gym though.

Experiencia positiva: It's a nice pool, one of the very few Long Course (50m) pools in the area. Unfortunately, some of the most uncomfortable bleachers.‍♂️

Experiencia positiva: Disappointed Jacuzzi has been taken out which was the best part for us adults to relax and watch our kids at the same time and WAS the perfect place to be winter time. Not anymore, now we will only go on school discount days because it is not worth the money for us anymore.

Experiencia negativa: Very affordable, great location, great facilities, and great staff. Unfortunately the hours are awful. They close at 3 pm on Mondays? Weekends also have even shorter hours. I'd still be a member if the gym was open until at least 11.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been coming to the aquatic center since 2018! I absolutely love utilizing the gym and pool here. It’s incredibly inviting and truly judgement free. All the staff are very friendly and the facilities are always clean (as a clean freak I’m impressed!).

Experiencia positiva: Suggestion: Add time limit on individual lane usage, to avoid "lane ownership" syndrome. Two older white ladies in there seemed to think they owned the place and certain lanes, even though it is a public facility. Otherwise great facility. Clean and many lifeguards on duty.

Experiencia negativa: Here's the thing....I go here 4-5 days a week for the last few months for their pool and the pool itself is great! Love it! However....the front desk staff always leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. If you ask them for ANY help or to do things that are within their job description, you will likely be met with a blank stare. And God help you if you try to call there to ask a question! That phone will ring so long you might as well get in your car and drive down there. I've asked the front desk staff for three things that are pretty reasonable: 1.) I asked them to change my payment card on file cause the one I had on file was hacked. The older woman at the front desk said it wasn't possible and only after I pressed numerous times that it SHOULD be possible under the circumstances, she took my name and had her office manager call me to do it. 2.) I asked for a new ID card cause I transferred wallets and must've let it in the old one when I threw it away. Again, they couldn't do it. I had to ask three separate times from different people before someone could suddenly do it. 3.) I'd left my swim trunks there one day while in a hurry and when I called to see if there were there, the phone rang and rang and rang some more. No answer. Next day I went in and asked if they were there, the person at the desk was gonna go look before another employee chirped "let the pool staff deal with it!" So she tried to call back to the pool supervisor office and they didn't answer....so instead of, oh, I don't know GOING TO PHYSICALLY CHECK! It became my problem and she kept saying "but they didn't answer the phone!" I work in reception and at the front desk of a hospital and maybe it's just me or how our company is run, but if a customer needs help, you go out of your way to help them! Great pool! Again, can't stress that enough! But be sure you NEVER need the front desk for anything.....

Experiencia fantástica: The pool was great.. lots of space and options for excercises, laps or walking. Must say the showerscleave alit to be desired. While it's appreciated that to control the volume of water used is understandable because there are those that abuse, but trying to shampoo and wash was difficult to do while holding the push button to rinse. There must be a better option.

Experiencia fantástica: Family membership for 5 years now. I believe the reason kids are not allowed in the Jacuzzi is because they are annoying to the other members. There is a kiddie pool and a Olympic sized pool. My kids are 6 and 8 and I like the fact they can't go in, they have their own spots to relax.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going here for years. Everyone is polite and the facility is excellent. Personally I'm glad kids under 14 aren't allowed in the hot tub. A lot of people go there to relax. The have an Olympic-sized pool for having fun.

Lots of different demographics and body types in the clientel so it's about impossible to feel judged. Highly recommended!!

Experiencia positiva: Overall a nice place to come for a workout, with a great pool area, but classes are lacking - most classes are weekdays in the morning to early afternoon, so if you work normal hours or have a kid that doesn't go to school or daycare, you're not able to go. A babysitting service of some sort would certainly make this place worth at least 4 stars to me! Other than that, the staff is nice, and the place is clean all around.

Besides the young blonde and older lady at front desk. She's the only one always smiling and happy. Good for you continue to remain positive.
