Experiencia fantástica: Love this gym! Been going for the last 3 years and it has consistently been good. Incredibly reasonable rates, very clean, juice bar. In my experience, everyone is friendly, from gym members to custodians to staff. No creepy experiences, ever. Gym membership is also diverse in terms of age and ethnicity, which is great. No towel service, so bring your own. Infrared sauna and showers in changing rooms. Lately I think membership has jumped so parking in the parking lot can be tricky when it is busy. However, there is plenty of parking down side streets, especially on the other side of Hertel.

From the moment you step inside off Hertel Avenue in the heart of North Buffalo, you instantly feel the genuine warmth of a community-focused gym that truly cares about its members - no Big Corporate vibes here! The facility offers an impressive range of well-maintained equipment spanning machine and free weights, cardio machines including treadmills and ellipticals, Life Cycle and spinning bikes, plus group exercise classes like boxing, barre, spin, Pilates and more. Every room is immaculately clean, as is every piece of equipment. Beyond all of this, what stands out most is the family-run atmosphere. The owners and staff are friendly, approachable, and make an effort to know members by name -whether you’re there for personal training, group classes, or open gym time. This creates a supportive, positive environment that motivates everyone to improve their health and well-being. Simply put, Terrie’s is a gem - a warm, inclusive place where fitness and community go hand in hand. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a friendly and effective workout experience.

I have received a warm welcome back, and I’m so impressed by all of the improvements that have been made- lots of great cardio machines, a beautiful yoga studio and amazing weight machines. Every member gets a free training session to learn how to maximize their time at the gym. I highly recommend this place!

Experiencia fantástica: I love this neighborhood, family owned gym. Staff are friendly and everything is always clean. They recently updated nearly ALL of their equipment. I would say over 90% of the machines, benches, etc are brand new (aside from cardio machines). Members are all kind and make room for one another.

We were visiting from out of town, and they were super welcoming, had diverse well-maintained equipment, and were reasonably priced. Experiencia fantástica: I injured my back in late December and I was looking for a place that had space and equipment to help with my rehab. I live near Terri’s so I decided to check it out and I found the Crown Jewel of Hertel Ave fitness. All the staff from housekeeping to the front desk were friendly and helpful. The facility is spotless and well maintained. They had everything available that I could ask for from yoga classes, room to stretch and any equipment I needed. They also offer boxing, cycling, fitness classes and personal training that I did not use but based on my experience there I bet it’s great! I highly recommend this gym!

Experiencia fantástica: I LOVE Terrie’s. It’s honestly my favorite gym I’ve ever belonged to. Terrie’s isn’t trying to be fancy or trendy, and that’s what’s so great about it. It’s a family-owned gym with a variety of good equipment, lots of space, and a range of classes (boxing classes are excellent!). The kind and welcoming staff keep the space very clean and the machines working well. The environment they’ve created is what I love most about it; Terrie’s is for everybody: man, woman, black, white, fat, fit, old and young. It’s literally the most diverse cross section of people I’ve ever witnessed at a single gym, which helps everyone feel welcome and encouraged to achieve their unique goals. Thank you Terrie’s!

Experiencia fantástica: Love this "old school" gym. This is not some fancy, luxurious fitness center...this is a true gym...and it's awesome! It's much bigger than it first appears, and it has an excellent quantity and variety of equipment. I used some of my old favorite machines here that I haven't seen in years. It's very clean and not crowded. If I lived in this area, this is the place I would definitely join.

Experiencia fantástica: Got a day pass here while visiting family in Buffalo. The facilities were very clean, the staff was incredibly nice, and the they had every single piece of equipment under the sun. Barbells, dumbbells, treadmills, stair-masters, ropes, cables, machines, squat racks, benches, etc. Everyone was very friendly and the locker rooms and equipment were clean and spacious. The price is pretty cheap compared to franchise gyms like LA Fitness. I would definitely recommend giving them a try if you're visiting or living in Buffalo.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing gym, Amazing gym, Amazing gym. I had to end my membership because I moved, but it was the worst part of moving. This gym helped me lose 70 lbs and I have been unable to keep up the good work I was able to put in at this gym. Great atmosphere and all of the employees care. They all could tell the amount of work I was putting in to lose the weight and they often asked how things were going. Not only did terrie ask how I was doing but often requested progress photos and even wanted me to keep in tough after I left. I HAVE NOTHING BAD TO SAY AND I DONT KNOW HOW ANYONE COULD!!!

Terrie is clearly passionate about what she does and everyone there knows what they're doing. They are there to workout and that's it. Amazing gym. I would never hesitate to recommend.

You may not get the same frills that you get at other gyms, but if you are self-motivated and want a clean gym to workout in with friendly members and staff, Terrie’s is the place. There are no hidden fees like at some of the larger gyms and classes are included. This can’t be said for many other gyms in the area. I’m glad it’s in my neighborhood!

Experiencia fantástica: Terrie's is a true old school neighborhood gym with modern amenities. The vibe is really chill, with all of the workers being very welcoming to all patrons of varying skill levels. The classes included with membership are good and high energy. There is a wide array of machines for weight lifting as well as tons of free weights (I'm fairly certain Terrie's has roots in being a boxing and body building gym). There is an adjacent parking structure for those who aren't in walking distance.

Experiencia negativa: I got a membership here because it's down the street from work and I thought I would like it. SPOILERS I didn't. My problems started out fairly mundane, when you sign up you get a free training session. I booked it the day I signed up the only availability the guy at the desk (who was for some reason the person I HAD to do my training with event though there were several trainers) had that worked out with mine was on a Saturday at 8am. This gym isn't close to my house but I figured whatever I can make that work. So I got up early went in and was informed somehow my appointment was scheduled for 7am. I do not open my eyes before 7:00 on a Saturday so I knew I didn't do that but whatever. I was told I would get a call to reschedule never did. I worked out maybe 5 times, didn't love the atmosphere, didn't like some of the equipment that I regularly use, and I just overall felt uncomfortable. I tried to cancel and was informed of the cancellation policy (which they aren't up front about, my fault for not checking but they could also be upfront about it) $100 to cancel early. I only owed another $110 for the membership so I was going to pay it either way and not use it either way. When she asked why I wanted to cancel I told her I wasn't comfortable and she went on and on about how in all her years no one has ever said that. She told me she would think about their policy & give me a call and never did. My credit card company sent me a new card so my payment bounced and then I got a letter in the mail saying I would be charged 10% a week for late payment. (Another policy they are not up front about) I just called to cancel again, and again i'm waiting on a "call back" so who knows if/when that will happen. I just want to never have to deal with this place again. I'll stick to the YMCA, newer equipment, better atmosphere and month to month memberships with no late charges or cancellation fees.

Experiencia negativa: Pros: - Not many people. I've rarely had to wait for a power rack or bench - Rounded plates instead of edged - Set of bumper plates - Lifting platforms - The staff cleans the place very often and it usually has a pleasant fresh scent Cons: - All of the barbells are bent and rusted, requiring replacement. - No chalk allowed - Med ball slams are not allowed - Very few people doing the main lifts. If you need an atmosphere of other lifters to motivate you this isn't the place. If you like never having to wait and can motivate yourself it's a plus. - They have one inexpensive power rack and an inexpensive half rack. The half rack isn't bolted down and therefore is only rated for 315#. Thats pretty light and dangerous. - Most of the equipment is very old and not maintained well enough or high enough quality to last. A lot of it has rusted. - While I have only seen two of the trainers at work, they don't appear to be high caliber. They teach things like "bosu ball kettlebell squats to overhead press". Do not appear to have a proper progression planned, which will make more than novice gains very hard to come by. *Have not seen, nor have the experience to speak to the boxing training* - Mirrors everywhere. Like carnival super villain amount of mirrors... - Pullup bar is too close to mirror forcing a typically unnatural form to avoid dragging your feet across it - Two of the cleaning staff are great. The third constantly invades personal space regardless of what you are doing. I've had to stop mid set on three separate occasions to avoid a barbell going into his face. He didn't acknowledge the situation. Nuetral: - Price is on par with other gyms in the area. More than the very cheap ones such as Catalyst. - Staff is about 50/50. Some are great, some less so. - Not for me, but a large dumbbell selection going up to 100#. - Even with a dedicated pull up bar, people still seem to prefer doing them in the racks for "reasons"

It is not a big box facility so you can tell they take a personal interest in their members and their fitness goals! I have tried larger gyms but I always come back to Terries. It just has a nice relaxed atmosphere that makes working out enjoyable!
