Experiencia fantástica: Wanted to give a shout out to what is now the new EoS La Mirada location. I have been a La Mirada Gold's Gym member since it opened in 2021, and really enjoy coming to this gym for my daily exercise regime, it is convenient, well equipped and staffed with great folks who are always friendly, professional and helpful. I'd like to highlight that the front desk staff are always friendly and welcoming, all the front desk staff members always bring a smile when I check in for my daily workout, in some ways it makes it feel like a second home... they make the EoS experience superb compared to other locations like Cerritos and Fullerton... honestly. Things have improved markedly since EoS took over a few months ago, and it appears equipment needing repairs are handled much quicker than when Gold's Gym ran this location. The gym may have a new name and a new coat of paint, but I'm glad they decided to retain all of their fantastic staff members so there is some continuity. Looking forward to many more years as a member here at the La Mirada EoS. Keep making this the best gym in the area.

Experiencia fantástica: William is an excellent instructor. It’s not difficult to follow the body combat choreography because he explains and demonstrates it very clearly. He also led the body pump class last night. Again, he was very good. I hope he will be our regular instructor for both these classes at Tuesday’s class line up.

Experiencia fantástica: My first time at the gym was a really good experience. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. I started with some light exercises to get a feel for things, and it felt great to move my body. The equipment was easy to use, and I liked how everyone was focused on their own workout. By the end, I felt accomplished and excited to go back. It was definitely a positive start to my fitness journey!

Experiencia fantástica: Gold's La Mirada truly has a great, classic, "Health Club" atmosphere. This is very much akin to that of Founder Joe Gold's original Gold's Gym in Venice and as shown in the movie, "Pumping Iron". At Gold's Gym, La Mirada, you feel more like you belong to a loving family, rather than merely another fitness center. I highly recommend Gold's Gym La Mirada for this and for many other very positive reasons.

Experiencia negativa: Gym silently updated their policies to include being recorded by staff members and they’re not subtle with their intentions either. They will literally stand in front of you as you workout and record you without an ounce of shame. So if you feel like you’re being watched, it’s most likely that you are without being able to tell whether that someone is an employee or just some random creep or maybe they’re all the same. Either way be cautious when you enter the gym to avoid being predated upon.

Experiencia negativa: Manager and staff seem friendly if you don’t have any problems, but once you do, it’s like they’re 3 year olds. They don’t know how to properly convey information, just chit chat to themselves, and don’t fix the machines. The chest fly/rear delt machine has been broken for about 4 months now and they haven’t done anything to fix it. You should hire new managers/employees because they only know how to the bare minimum.

Experiencia negativa: ⭐☆☆☆☆ Disappointed and Frustrated I’ve been a loyal member of Gold’s Gym for quite some time, but the past couple of months have been extremely disappointing. Several machines—especially some of the most-used ones—have been broken for over two months, and there seems to be no effort made to fix or replace them. This has led to long lines just to use basic equipment, which not only wastes our time but also ruins the flow and energy of our workouts. On top of that, the digital scale has been out of order, and the bathroom facilities are in poor condition, with leaking toilets that have yet to be addressed. It’s honestly unacceptable for a gym of this size and reputation. I’m seriously wondering who the manager and district manager are—because it’s clear they haven’t been paying attention. This is not the level of service we pay for, and definitely not what we expect.

Experiencia negativa: I used to love coming to this gym occasionally, but on my visit today some random dude approached my car just as I parked trying to sell me some shirts. Not trying to be rude I listened to his sales pitch and was interested but ultimately decided not to buy any. He became super rude and confrontational after that and I ended up going to a different gym because I feared he'd retaliate on my car while I was at the gym. The worst part of all of this is the staff is well awake of this but cannot do anything about it.

Experiencia negativa: The gym used to be very nice, but they really let things go. Bathrooms stay dirty for too long, and one weekend there was no toilet paper in the ladies for atleast 2 days. The equipment is falling into disrepair, with cable machines go months without being fixed. Staff always say “okay we will fix it,” but they don’t get fixed. It’s always the same machines being broken. Get it together and use our membership fees to maintain the gym.

Experiencia negativa: Signed up for the gym in June; wasn’t told about any annual fees until I was charged last week. I called the gym and asked for the 2 gentlemen who helped me and was told they no longer worked there!! The gentlemen on the phone had an attitude and laughed about me not knowing there was annual fees. I asked for a manager and they said they don’t have one. This place is very unprofessional and there are a lot of hidden fees; make sure to check your bank accounts.
Experiencia negativa: Leaving this because of how Gold’s La Mirada treated my mother, Yvonne Lee, who was a member for over 20 years. They shut her out over something she didn’t even do, gave her zero heads up, and wouldn’t hear her out — all while she was still recovering from lung cancer. Seeing how badly this hurt her has totally destroyed our trust in this place.
Experiencia negativa: UPDATE (7/3/25): It’s now been a full week since I reached out to both Gold’s Gym corporate and the local retention team — still no response at all. Meanwhile, the location continues to actively reply to positive Google reviews, yet chooses not to address legitimate, disappointing experiences like this one. Still hoping they’ll step up and make this right. ORIGINAL (6/26/25) My mother, Yvonne Lee, has been a loyal member of Gold’s Gym La Mirada for many years and a resident of La Mirada since 1993. This gym has played an important role in her health and recovery—including from multiple surgeries, most recently lung cancer surgery just months before the incident I’m writing about. Roughly six months ago, her key fob suddenly stopped working. There was no call, no email, no explanation. She later found out she had been “blacklisted” after being wrongly blamed for something she didn’t do. At no point was she given the chance to respond, explain, or even understand what had happened. She was so distraught by the experience—and unsure how to advocate for herself—that she kept it to herself for months, not wanting to burden me. I only recently found out and have been trying to understand what occurred. I visited the gym in person, remained calm and respectful, and was still refused a conversation. The staff simply repeated, “she had an altercation, those are the facts,” and began backing away as if I were physically threatening them. It felt dismissive and performative. I’ve since contacted Gold’s corporate, because my mom deserves the dignity of being heard. I’m sharing this publicly not out of anger, but because there has been no clear channel for resolution. No longtime member of the gym and community deserves to have this experience in the first place, and worsened (significantly) by the experience of not being justly heard. We’re still hopeful Gold’s will be willing to engage directly, acknowledge what happened, and help make this right.

Experiencia fantástica: Having gym memberships at two major gyms, one that opens 24 hr and the other that's in LA, gives me the ability to compare these 2 gyms... Gold's Gym is the best by far...machines and equipment are better maintained, clean and organized. Locker rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Pool sauna and spa are clean. Freeweights are not scattered throughout. I've reported a machine out of order and found it fixed the following visit... The building's decor is very conducive to an atmosphere that inspires working out... The staff... The staff is very welcoming when entering. On the floor the staff is very friendly and encouraging and respectful... The Traing staff, however... I've experienced that they are friendly only when they are trying to selling you a workout package. But don't give you a second look or the time of day if you decline to purchase... my 5 star rating is for the staff, gym and equipment and facility...

Experiencia negativa: Omg. I will no longer go to the lahabra location Talia is so unprofessional. And rude The staff is always unorganized And. They. Won’t let you use the gym restroom unless you have a membership. Even if u have a friend who is a member cause i tried to use my friends card and I was like outed in front of people. For trying to do so cause it was an emergency and I had to pee I try to explain that to a manager and she was like no u need your own membership can use your friends card I tried to explain it was an emergency and I really had t Lee and I couldn’t. Hold it and she literally outed me in front of everyone not cool so I left uncomfortable
Experiencia positiva: Always a great workout staff is always awesome ....but there needs to be an Escape Room at this location as its the location that sold me on the platinum membership. Can we get the room at the top of the stairs turned into an escape room? Also too many machines out of order we need them repaired in less than 2 weeks, it takes them months to fix them.
Experiencia negativa: Horrible management, gym is good but management is horrible. Their front desk charged me for “my monthly bill” I paid it, next day I went and they told me I still hadn’t paid my monthly bill, so I paid it AGAIN, went the next day and they told me I still owed my monthly bill, at this point I had paid twice, I asked to speak to management, I spoke to their main manager of the gym, he basically blamed me for not telling them the first time, said he would look into it, a week pass by and still no call back from him as he said he would, turned out, their new employee made me pay two other peoples monthly bill, and that he couldn’t do anything about it. He was very rude, disrespectful and started to get verbally violent with me, said he was not going to help me, I asked for the distract managers number and he laughed, gave me the number and said go for it, he’s not going to help you, he’s on my side.

Experiencia negativa: Abs crunch has been broken for almost a month as January 12 2025. None bothered to fix this. Asked the front desk, they have no idea when it'll be fixed. SMH♂️
Experiencia fantástica: Love gym exercise such as yoga, zoomba, body pump and body balance. They adds new classes and updates each classes to a new version. Never the same classes each time. All instructors are professional and many years experiences!! Now I become stronger than before and maintains good balance
Experiencia fantástica: I just joined Gold’s Gym La Mirada. James the General Manager gave me a tour of the gym. Everywhere I went I saw someone cleaning. The gym is tidy and has a very friendly atmosphere. I was there in the evening. It was busy but I didn’t have any trouble parking. I was able to use the equipment I wanted. The pool area is very clean as well as the locker rooms. I took the Yoga/Pilates class which also includes tai chi and loved it. I look forward to going back.
Experiencia fantástica: Josh is such a great Body Pump instructor, especially someone like me who is new to this type of workout.
Experiencia negativa: A lot of issues with out of service equipment but the biggest problem is with the sauna and steam room which are the only reason I pay to come to a gym. I have weights at home. I along with a lot of others I’m sure pay to have access these things. I’m canceling my membership to go to a gym that doesn’t have these kind of prolonged problems. The sauna shouldn’t be down a week straight ever. Bad business. On top of that the staff doesn’t even have a time range on when it will be back up. Management and ownership here only cares about that monthly payment you’re gonna make and not about facilitating their customers.

Experiencia fantástica: This facility has top quality cleanliness and maintenance, a variety of conditioned equipment. The ambiance and additional amenities are great for recovery. Staff and customer service are always there to provide any answers you have. (i.e friendliness, knowledge, billing.) Love seeing my community better themselves.

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed. I had 2 members sign up under me as a referral. Second member was not asked who referred him and he forgot tto state. Called the manager the next day. Was told it was not a problem Email him. Fast forward. New management. I was only given 6 months free. Was told cannot resolve problem Second member had to state referral at sign up or no go. What? No motivation to fix problem I don't matter just another nember.
