Experiencia negativa: I’ve been a member of this gym since 2017, even back when they were at their previous location. They grandfathered me into the new location, and I stayed loyal through the COVID shutdowns—even when they continued charging me while the gym was inaccessible. I reached out at the time, and they promised a refund, but I never received it. Recently, I noticed they increased my monthly fee by $20 without notifying me. That was the final straw. I belong to multiple gyms and only used this one sparingly, but I still wanted to support it because of the cool atmosphere. Unfortunately, the lack of transparency and questionable business practices make it hard to trust this gym. I can no longer recommend it. I’ve been trying to resolve an issue with my card being charged, and your customer service has been completely unresponsive. I’ve contacted you multiple times, yet I still have not received a proper response or resolution. I need my card declined on your end so that I am not charged again. This should be a simple request, yet I’m being ignored. If this is how you handle basic customer concerns, it raises serious doubts about your business ethics. I expect a response immediately and for this issue to be resolved ASAP. I shouldn’t have to leave a public review just to get your attention, but clearly, this is the only way to make you take action. If this isn’t resolved soon, I will be left with no choice but to escalate this further. Do the right thing and handle your customers’ concerns properly.

Experiencia fantástica: If you liked lifting in the 80s and 90s you’ll love it here. The equipment is mostly old school and is kind of all over the place but it has its charm. They place metal music which is way more motivating than what other gyms play. It is also really inexpensive. All in all it’s a great gym, there aren’t many left like this.

Experiencia fantástica: My “home away from home” for training when traveling for work. Clean, good lighting, great equipment selection, nice staff and the perfect vibe! Also they are staffed at 5am weekdays so I can get a day pass and lift in hours before other gyms open.

Experiencia fantástica: Old-school Iron pump house. Im Active Duty and Was in town for the holidays, and they took care of me. I intentionally drove 35 minutes for this kind of atmosphere and was not disappointed. Definitely my daily goto gym when I'm visiting my hometown.

Experiencia fantástica: I was traveling through the Chicago area and stopped by Brickhaus Fitness for a workout. The staff was very friendly and the gym had good equipment for serious lifters. This is a bodybuilders ideal gym. I had a great workout and highly recommend this facility!

Experiencia positiva: This gym is a decent gym. It has its pros and cons. Pros: -- There's a lot of equipment. There are really no complaints I have about the gym lacking machinery needed to work out a certain muscle or muscle group. The gym absorbed the equipment from Retro Fitness when it closed, so it has a variety of machines. They even have an area with punching bags, which is nice, even if I don't use them personally. -- Hours. While the gym isn't open 24/7, the hours are still nice, being open until 11 pm on weekdays and 10 pm on weekends. Although I wish they'd stay open till 11pm on weekends. -- The gym is big. The gym has two main areas connected by a hallway; the front and back of the gym. There's also a small room with some exercise equipment in it. -- Locker rooms. The gym has decent locker rooms with locker storage, showers, and toilets. These are a newer addition to the gym, and not having them before wasn't the most convenient. -- Location. This really only applies to me, but the gym is a block away from where I live, so the proximity is convenient. Cons: -- Very crowded certain times of day. The high occupancy usually dies down in the evenings after 8 pm or so. Weekends are less crowded than the weekdays. -- Lack of maintenance. The machines are constantly dusty, the padded parts of machines and benches are ripped or torn frequently, and the walls of the gym below the mirrors are busted up with holes and nicks all over the place. Two machines were previously missing their pins, so to use them you had to steal a pin from another machine, causing the pinless machine to rotate throughout the day. It was that way for several months and no one that worked there ordered new pins (makes me think no one was maintaining the machines otherwise it would've been noticed) so I ordered my own and brought them in. You're welcome Brickhaus. Cable machine clips go missing a lot too. People like to remove them and throw them where ever, making it hard to find them when I need them. I would appreciate the gym maintaining the machines by zip tying the clips to the cables so that they can't be removed. I also had to buy my own and bring them to the gym because I was tired of not being able to find clips in order to use the cable machines. Again, you're welcome Brickhaus. To be fair, though, when a cable machine breaks or a padded part of a machine completely tears, the gym is pretty quick to get it repaired, which is nice. --Lack of supervision/Culture. Male teens and twenty-somethings often take off their shirts and flex or work out shirtless in the back area of the gym. It wasn't a problem until a few months ago. People started doing it and realized there were no consequences, so the frequency of it happening increased. Went from once in a while, to once a week, to now almost once a day. A lot of people go shirtless in the locker rooms or the small side workout room, which is fine. However staff does nothing about people going shirtless in the main areas. There's only one person running the place and they sit at the front desk, out of view of the back of the gym, unaware of what's going on. People also record themselves a lot on their phone, tripod, etc. so you may end up in someone's video in the background.

Experiencia positiva: Awesome gym, clean and excellent equipment, this gym need to be back 24-7 so we don't have to see high-school kids, weight 110 lbs with broccoli haircuts, walking without shirts, thinking they are Mr.Olympia.

Lots of good ol' bodybuilding style equipment. Change room and showers are extremely clean and nice. Drop in price is reasonable. I would highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: I hate leaving bad reviews, but I’m out of options at this point. I was a member for nearly a year, but ended up having to cancel my membership because of a job move. Everyone I worked with to cancel my membership was nice and helpful, so it really sucked when I found out they retained my credit card info and continued to charge me for months. I’ve done everything I can to fix the situation, but they still haven’t given all of my money back. They refunded me two months worth of fees, but I’m still out nearly $300.

Experiencia fantástica: I started going to the haus a couple months ago and my experience has been great so far. They have everything you could need at any experience level, from newbie to elite level athlete. Very motivating environment and it's pretty much never packed, even at peak hours. Best gym in the area.

First of all, it encompasses equipment needed for all fitness levels, so anyone should be able to achieve their goals here (given attendance is regular). But the most impressive part for me, is that their equipment range is so large, that it surpasses the limited selections of almost all gyms I have encountered aside from professional sports facilities and division 1 NCAA weight rooms, which I have had much experience in. If you are a professional athlete, competitive fitness athlete, bodybuilder, weekend warrior, or stay at home dad or mom... this place has everything you could need from now till the last day you ever walk in a gym. For those strong enough to need 200 lb dumbells... they have them! Single leg Hammer Strength leg press?... Yup. All the variety you could ever want for any goal. Just a heaven of a gym. Couldn't be happier with my visit today!

Experiencia negativa: This gym was opened early despite our COVID-19 pandemic, which is still not over. This business opened before it was safe to do so and was issued violations for it. I do not agree with ignoring state laws as an official business, they should follow the law. No respect for the well-being and safety of customers or citizens. Therefore taking my workouts elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: Don't know what Brickhaus was thinking when they took over Retro Fitness. Even when expanding Retro Fitness it still won't be enough to accommodate both Brickhaus and Retro Fitness members. Needed to move into a gym that is about twice the size as the old Retro Fitness gym there will be a lot of unhappy members it will be so crowded you wont be able to get a good work out.

Experiencia fantástica: Always a blast at Brick. When I moved back to the Midwest, I tried a bunch of gyms but none of them stood out like Brick. My dad was at Lifetime for 17 plus years before he went to Brick with me one Sunday, and he never went back. I’ve brought my friends, family and coworkers here and it always feels like home.

I've been a member for almost two years and train here regularly because the owner, Brandon, is someone who is extremely passionate about health and fitness. He's committed himself to creating a facility that offers its members anything and everything they need as far as equipment regardless of your goals...general fitness, bodybuilder, powerlifter, strongman, combat sports athlete. Whatever you're looking for...this place probably has it. I can't comment on the afternoon or evening crowd because I train in the early morning hours, but at that time...the members and staff are all great people to be around. A workout at Brickhaus is a great way to start your day.

The staff is great and the owner is hands on and really cares about the gym. You definitely can't say that about the other 24hr gyms in the area. I highly recommend them.

They have all the equipment you need and different equipment that a lot of gyms don’t have. They have many supplements and the guys at the front desk help you and what you should get if you’re looking for a lean body tone or bulk body tone. Love the Brickhaus gear the t-shirts and sweatshirt,shaker cups, sweatpants, shorts and there own pre-work really gets you going.

The owner is super friendly and even suggested some movements for my set of issues. The supplements are top notch, not overpriced. The layout is great, and atmosphere drives me to be the best I can be. Highly recommend....also the music cycles between a few insanely good stations...if you walk into a gym blaring Korn you basically want to give them your money...
