Experiencia negativa: All in all not a bad gym. If you're looking for a serious gym , this not it. Do not complain to staff regarding plates that are not unloaded. They don't understand gym etiquette and courtesy. So, if you come in looking to do deadlifts and find 500 + pounds on the bar 0r 400 on the squat rack, do not complain or they will put you on a blacklist and cancel your membership for demanding that they do their job. But if you don't mind playing mommy, and many don't say a word, then this the perfect gym for you. Generally , the manager has a problem with everything and the patrons are very nice.So, do not try and tell her how to run her gym and you'll be fine. Good luck.

Experiencia fantástica: CFX Gym is elite. The vibe is always on point, the equipment is clean and high quality, and the people there are all about pushing themselves. Trainers know their stuff and the whole setup just makes you want to work harder. If you're serious about results, CFX is the place to be. Highly recommend.

Experiencia negativa: My wife and I went to check out gym. Already members at another gym and coming up on renewal. When at the locked front door approximately 4:15pm on a Friday afternoon. A (as we found out later) personal trainer let himself in. Didn't acknowledge us. We called number on door. Heard phone in gym ringing and got message. Then a member who was leaving spoke to us. He got the personal trainer who ignored us. Personal trainer said he couldn't help and neither could an employee who was working out. Can you back tomorrow, maybe someone will be here that can help you and let you tour gym. How does this gym stay in business? As a former fitness industry professional, it is sad to see the mentality here. Lost us for good and we live 8th of a mile away.

Experiencia negativa: Very outdated equipment in the whole gym. Not well maintained. Not the best gym in the area but gets the job done for a local gym.

Experiencia negativa: the worse gym in the state if you cancel your membership first they want you to go physically there. After that for some reason they charge you after cancellation in case if you don’t wanna pay they will report you to credit union to destroy your credit history. So watch out. Don’t join CFX at all.

Experiencia fantástica: The gym is clean and the equipment is fairly new and well kept. I usually go around the evening time and luckily there isn't many people around. There are spray bottles, towels, and the bathrooms are tidy and kept spotless. I would recommend this place.

Experiencia negativa: Gym is not well kept at all. Equipment is either all old or broken. Treadmills all make such horrible noises and the belts do not feel like they are being maintained at all. Bathrooms are not clean at all and all the sink handles are loose. On top of it all, they still increase the membership prices by 2.99??? Not worth your time or money, drive the extra 5 minutes and go to VASA fitness where you’ll get a much better facility and experience.

Experiencia negativa: This gym is clean and has great equipment. However, A: this gym is so dimly lit and depressing inside. B: I really didn't like the fact that I was told directly by the employees/ coaches working up front that I wouldn't be able to go up to them and ask for a spot or general training questions.. Even if they weren't busy! Which is obviously the only time I would ask for something like that. It just didn't feel very friendly or community focused the way a gym should be in my opinion.

Experiencia positiva: Love this gym but wish they have more exciting activities like zoomba or yoga sessions. Compare to other gym $26 a month is a bit much average monthly membership elsewhere between $15-20

Experiencia negativa: Decent for the closest gym wish there was another cleaner and better equipped gym closer to home. I have 2 gym memberships because of working different times and this gym is 24 hours so I hit it later at night like 10-11pm and yea there are a lot of hangouts there but that’s every gym.

Experiencia negativa: I like the space and variety in equipment although a lot of it is old and needs updating. I go after 9pm on week nights and it’s a daycare for high schoolers. They don’t clean/pick up after themselves and just kind of loiter in groups around machines/weights. It’s not a serious or motivating workout environment.

Experiencia positiva: Great place to work out. Mostly filled with young kids from 5 pm to 9 pm. I would give it a 5 star if they had better equipment for leg exercises.

Experiencia fantástica: I am updating my review because of my recent experience. I have an injurt which limits my exercise routine. I have participated in Team Training Classes for ten years at CFX. Why?? Because they are led by a trainer! All the trainers at the Carol Stream CFX are EXCELLENT. Have to put a shout out for Joe though as he has been especially attentative once I shared my limitations. YES, you have to let the trainer know when you need modifications. They can't read your mind! I also appreciate his diligence in watching and correcting me if I am doing a particular exercise inproperly as he makes sure I am actually working the muscles that should be utilized for that exercise. Because I need modifications for some exercises while my injury heals and because the trainers have ALL been very helpful, I have been able to continue going to the gym each day as my body heals. Highly recommend the Team Training classes!

Experiencia fantástica: I purchased a newcomer package of personal training and had the trainer Nathan assigned to me. It honestly could not have been a better pairing, we built great rapport and he was very accommodating to my medical restrictions. The only downside I have to add is the clients who drop weights and cause a ruckus. Part of the lift is bringing the weight back down with control, no one wants to hear you slamming weights to the floor. But that's a client issue, not a gym issue. The gym is very close by to me and it gets my needs met.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been a member of this gym for a little over a year and absolutely love it! The staff is super friendly, helpful, professional. Everything is clean and well maintained. It’s a no-frills, no gimmick gym that has all the equipment you need. I don’t feel intimidated here like I have at other gyms. They offer different classes at various times in the week for all skill levels. Nathan is my amazing trainer, extremely encouraging and keeps me focused and motivated.

Even though there are a decent amount of people during peak hours, it's rarely the case where you'll have to wait very long for equipment, due to the fact that there is a lot of equipment. Very good value in terms of what you pay per month and what you get.

Experiencia negativa: Machines are dusty and broken the gym is packed after 5pm. Bathrooms are dirty af which is weird because they're staffed 5 times a week. 25 bucks just for 24 hr access and no guest privileges. Honestly cancelling October 1rst not enough equipment might as well go to LA fitness.

Experiencia fantástica: CFX is a high quality gym that has everything that you could want in a gym! Weights, cardio, etc. Also very affordable and a great location. The staff is super kind and Cyndi, who helped me with my sign up process, truly went above and beyond to make me feel so welcomed in the gym!

Experiencia negativa: Did not notify customers that hours were changing and blamed it on the branding change to "CFX." Even though that change took place over a year ago. Now to come to the gym out of business hours, it costs $10 more a month. I signed my contract under the pretense that this was going to be a 24/7 gym. They even have "Open 24 hours" listed on Google Maps but it's only 24 hours if you pay more.

Experiencia negativa: I can say if you need a gym that's convenient 24hrs its nice. But you can tell they don't use your membership money to take care of the facility. I have been a service tech in the industry as well as a personal trainer for over 16 years & I have never seen equipment that looks so uncared for. From the lack of regular maintenance and cleaning rust has set in on everything from weight stacks, guide rods and not to mention the attachments/weight clips. I got blood blisters from 2 attachments that are rusted out. I witnessed duct tape being used to cover the safety adjuster pin for adjustable bench. I also witnessed a young man attempt to sit on it with 60# dumbbells only to fly up off the bench. What a safety hazard!! There is always clips missing from cable machines, not to mention all the ripped pads; I actually scratched myself on the bench pad just the other day. Lastly the most unprofessional was when i was using the upright bike and went to take my heart rate and i noticed the electrode pad was super glued down (clips that hold it broke so they glued it) and will never be able to work again. I have expressed my concerns and asked for a phone call from management as i am concerned for the safety of the machines and want to know where ALL the $$ is going members are paying for memberships. I got an email stating my concerns were forwarded on, how unprofessional!

Which I personally haven’t found here. This gyms an 8/10 for me!

Experiencia positiva: Not a bad gym, has all the basic equipment you really need. My only complaint would be that they need a bigger facility. It's way too small for how popular it is, and some days it's impossible to do your routine.

Experiencia fantástica: Just joined a week back. It is the most convenient location for the price and the equipments provided.

Experiencia negativa: The manager is the number one reason I am leaving this gym. She has caused multiple problems for myself and others I know who go to this particular location. She is very rude, nasty and does not make me feel welcome. Not to mention pushy and over-bearing. That being said, my second complaint is the equipment. 90% of the machines in this gym are fine. However, you do run into old, not taken care of and damaged equipment. A lot of the machines for basic fitness are available but usually only 2-3 of each. Which can be difficult when working out during peak hours. And peak hours are often. This location is usually packed with people. I didn't run into this problem in previous gyms like I do here. However, this is expected in a commercial gym. If you're seriously invested in fitness or body building then this isn't the location for you. It's a very small gym with limited supplies.

Experiencia fantástica: The employees have been here long-term. They are very professional, responsive, friendly, and helpful if needed. The equipment is in very good condition and functions properly. There is a turf area with a sled, tires, and other functional activity training gear. There is also a deadlift platform (YES!!!), and two squat racks. The facility itself is very well maintained and clean. I highly recommend this facility for all types of users. Whether your just getting into fitness, an athlete, or you’re a gym rat like me. The only people I would say who wouldn’t find it useful would be those who dumbbells over 100lbs.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to charter fitness for a few years now. I do the group training on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Our group trainer is Sebastian! He is awesome! It is a very challenging class for all of us that are there! Sebastian changes it up every week and definitely challenges us! While the gym was closed for a few months, due to Covid, I’m sure we lost some strength. Once we came back we had to rebuild a bit of strength and Sebastian made that happen! Thank you Charter Fitness Carol Stream, I wouldn’t go anywhere else! I also have to comment on their cleanliness! They have several protocols in place to keep the gym clean and safe. I always see them cleaning! I feel very safe going and working out there.

Their staff also do routine cleanups. Have been to many other gyms and believe me, you will not find a nicer staff and cleaner gym in the area. Especially during these times.
