Experiencia positiva: This specific location is closed down, came to look into the building and there was a notice, at least until further changes, this one should be removed from google maps.

Experiencia negativa: I visited the Onyx Health Club Parma location on June 9, 2023. Upon walking in this club, I noticed the extremely hot temperature throughout the building. It had to be a 70 or 80 degree day so I didn’t understand why the air was not on. I decided to start a membership with this club because I needed something that was close to my house. I was quoted a monthly price of $54 for unlimited use. However, as the months progressed I noticed that my monthly cost has gradually increased to $62. Since I was not notified of this, I decided to cancel my membership. The other reason that I decided to cancel my membership is because no staff were ever there and no one ever answers the phone. In fact, if you do a Google search of the Onyx Health Club in Parma, OH, it list a phone number that is disconnected. I sent an email to an email address listed on their site, to cancel my membership and I was sent an electronic form to complete then I was told that I have to contact the club directly. It seems virtually impossible to cancel this membership. In addition, the Parma location is no longer listed on the Onyx Health Club website. I am very dissatisfied and upset that the owners and staff of this club have become more money hungry than customer focused. I would not recommend this club or any others to anyone.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a really nice gym. It is pretty big and has lots of equipment to choose from that they keep in good working order. You rarely have to wait to get on anything. It is very clean and the staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help you out in any way possible. The prices are really good compared to other gyms that I have been a member of. They have quite a few giveaways, competitions and fun events throughout the year that other gyms dont. If your looking for a good gym to join, this is your place for sure!

Spoke with the manger on the phone and basically insulted me. So if you ever plan on trying to cancel good luck.

Experiencia negativa: I never leave negative reviews but this is a disgrace, I tried to cancel multiple times and they kept giving me the run around I called and even showed up in person was told your account is canceled and im good to go. After 3 months now still getting charged. I called in to see why im still getting charged and Alyssa was extremely rude saying that im a liar and I was told to fill out some form that they emailed me but I WAS NEVER TOLD TO FILL THIS OUT WHEN I SHOWED UP IN PERSON! What kind of gym does not let you cancel your membership in person!!!! For being a member for years you'd think they'd be alittle more understanding and willing to fix the situation but no. STAY AWAY also AC didn't work most of the time i was there, leaked during rain take your money elsewhere.

Experiencia positiva: The equipment is what you would expect. Good options and plenty of room. The biggest issue is the heat. I’ve been in plenty of gyms where there is no AC and they aren’t as hot as this place and they have AC. With the continuous raising of membership fees and dues you would think running the AC would be standard practice but instead we get cute notes written around the gym about if you’re hot, eat a popsicle, and responses from the staff about the heat burning calories. If the heat is meant to help burn calories why are you telling people to eat sugary popsicles to quench their heat exhaustion and dehydration? I’m not asking for it to be an ice box in there and I don’t think anyone else is either but when it’s over 90 degrees and humid outside and then it feels like you ran into a wall of heat when you walk into the building, it’s unacceptable. Something has to be done! ☠️

Experiencia fantástica: This is an absolutely fantastic gym! It is never crowded during the week and, even on busy weekends, there is usually enough equipment. Equipment is kept clean by all members and the environment is very welcoming. Personal training with Rich has been a delight. If you show up and put in the effort, he will more than match you and bring out the best in your workouts! He is always professional, diligent, and generous with his time and personal gear. Considering the price, there is no question about the value proposition. Personal training sessions are very accessible and the base membership is more than fair. I can not recommend this gym enough!

Experiencia negativa: Very sketchy gym with constant charges to my account I wasn’t told about, they would constantly suspend my account for no reason and charge me extra for that, I would get random charges out of no where. Very scammy gym, the worst gym iv ever been to not to mention the employees need to drop there ego and realize they work at a gym for a living, especially “alyssa” she was a nightmare to deal with. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something bigger going on behind this gym the way they were charging my account and not telling me.

Not a power gym but has everything needed and even offers free programs like must Thai and yoga that’s included with the monthly membership. GO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT

Experiencia negativa: I have been coming here for about a year. Good weights usually. Kind of clean. Lots of broken stuff the toilet doesn’t flush (disgusting). Now the AC apparently doesn’t work at all. I sweat 75 hours a week at my job I am not trying to pay 55$ a month to come sweat and feel like I’m about to pass out here. A joke. It’s so hot i dropped weights on myself. Get it together before you lose all your customers. Ridiculous it can result in serious injury. And you’re locked into a contract you have to pay to get out of? This gym is rigged. And unfortunately your workout will get cut short by some random classes they host that nobody shows up to… what a joke and a waste of time! Is this a free weight gym or a rec center?

Experiencia negativa: the tour was great but that’s about it. I went there on a free day pass after work around 6 o’clock. Not knowing that my workout would be cut completely short simply because their staff was leaving. I feel as if they should have included that in the tour or the email because they asked what time I would be coming in and I notified them of that. I should have been able to finish my workout simply out of courtesy. The weights were also all over the place and everything. Not a good experience wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.

Experiencia positiva: I checked the place out on a Saturday and nobody was there and every time I called nobody answered. Luckily a member was there and let me in to check it out. The equipment didn’t seem to be anything special but it is pretty decent sized and is very clean. I would of rated it higher if an employee was there at the door and if they answered their phone. I won’t be joining due to lack of customer service.

They have great deals for memberships. They’re constantly improving the facility.

Experiencia negativa: The facility has a lot of equipment to offer, as well as plenty of courses included with your membership fee. That’s about all that’s good about this place. At the time of my enrollment, I was fairly active at another gym and was looking for some guidance in order to progress in my fitness journey. I had decided to get a personal trainer and I liked the initial vibe of the atmosphere. On top of the monthly charge being around $50, I was paying around $300 per month for 1 hour training sessions 5 days a week. I had no problem paying this, until my trainer stopped showing up to my sessions. They wouldn’t respond to my texts, phone calls. Staff members wouldn’t tell me what was going on. And yet, I was still getting charged for my sessions. An absolute utter rip off and 100% do not recommend this place.

Experiencia fantástica: I would workout here a couple times a week and therefore pay for a day pass, since I only worked out a couple days a week at this gym, and a couple other days at my other main gym. As I started working out more consistently at this particular gym, I’ve learned more and more about the staff and people at this gym. Everyone here at this gym is kind, respectful, supportive and welcoming in every way possible. I have never felt uncomfortable at all by any single person or staff members. I ultimately made this my home gym because honestly everyone here has that same hard work mentality. Training with heavy weights can usually cause issues in most gyms , and between all of the heavy weight I train with and throw around, nobody ever says anything negative about it whatsoever. And the staff will do anything to put a smile on your face, make you laugh and come up with what ever deal they can, to get you signed up without any problems or pressure. The staff at this gym offers a top tier environment, genuineness and a vast array of workout equipment and training options that fits everyone’s needs, from the basics to the more advanced this is the gym for you.

My home location, Parma, hosts a wide variety of quality equipment, plenty of space to claim and move around in, multiple rooms with tailored functions, a massive parking lot, and access to a track across from the building (look for the gazebo). Above all of that are the great people. I'm one of a score of regulars, and those are just who I see at my normal time. The staff are personable and professional, especially the trainer Sam. They and the community are helpful, social, and respectful. Make gains and make friends at Onyx Parma!

I tried to put my account on hold but after three months I failed to call and cancel. I found out today that I still had an account with them. I called and spoke with Alyssa, she was so kind and helpful even with my not so pleasant tonality. She told me rich, the manager, would call me back shortly to discuss my situation. Rich called me back within a few minutes. He was so helpful and patient, answered every question and went over all my account info until I felt I had a full understanding. He reassured me he would do everything in is power to help me and he did. I have never experienced better customer service. Thank you so much everyone at onyx.

Experiencia negativa: I usually use the Twinsburg location, and today was a perfect example of why. I only live 5 minutes from the Parma gym, I had today off work so I figured I would visit and get a quick workout in. ALEX is the problem at this location. I really hate name dropping, but this is who keeps people away. Always has a horrible attitude, and not pleasant to converse with at all. During my workout, I see Eddy their handyman there. Was doing things like repairing the light in our bathroom, he took apart and removed the old Smith Machine, and hung a painted bulletin board. After he was done, he and Alex were talking and he inquired about some machines because she hung tape across the whole rear by the squat machine. She rudely almost put her hand in his face and said "That's an Alex problem, let Alex handle it" I exclaimed that was very rude, and I'm sure she heard me. With that, he picked up his things and left. I did the same hoping to catch him and let him know we all see how hard he works, and love it. I heard at another location that he is part of a "Corporate Team" well if staff members are allowed to talk to corporate like that, it's no surprise that things are the way that they are.

Experiencia fantástica: Sickest gym in Cleveland. 5 different rooms full of equipment, multiple squat racks and benches so you arent all waiting for one rack. The place is always clean and is open 24/7. The staff are always friendly and walking around engaging with members and they run their own classes. The pictures don’t do it justice to just how big this place is, def go take a tour if you are interested in joining!
