Experiencia positiva: The review is for the summer camp. The facility and the program are good, however, the management could be improved. Our daughter complaint about being hit unintentionally almost once a week (and she cried so it was not a gentle touch). I suspect that it was too crowded. Also, kids were taken out to the tennis court even when heat advisory was issued. Finally, the camp counselors are part time and some of them could be better trained.

Experiencia negativa: My kids and their dad work out at this gym every day, Suddenly the guy at the front desk snapped at my boys just because my boys didn’t have the card to scan in at the time, he was very rude and disrespectful to my son, he was practically yelling at him. The employees definitely need to be trained on customer service, if they don’t like customers they should NOT work the front desk. After all, the customers are the ones paying their salary. Do NOT forget, NO CUSTOMERS= NO PAY!

Experiencia negativa: Made a lane reservation only for half the pool to be taken up by the swim team. Waited 30 minutes to see if anything opened up and it didn’t. Spoke with the front desk and while kind and apologetic, it seems there are no real systems in place. The lane reservations mean nothing. Totally unorganized and unprofessional.

I wish I still lived in Louisana just to enjoy it again, my best memories are here. You do not realize what a wonder this place is until you move away.

If that doesn’t sell you, there’s even an app that gives you lots of stats about your health, weight, strength, and more! Amazing! Membership is a bit expensive though.

Experiencia fantástica: Does anyone know what the current mask policy at the Y is? Since we are not under a mask mandate in LA., I would think the policy has changed at the Y. I had stopped going because I cannot tolerate being "masked up" while working out. Totally unhealthy to not be able to breathe in fresh air when working out! And due to asthma, a mask causes me to have problems getting a full breath. Thanks for a response. I pray to be able to return soon.

Experiencia negativa: They need to get their act together. Their coaches don’t show up for practice or games. The uniform shirts were given out after two games were already played. We played a team on our third game and they still didn’t have their yet! If you go into the building to ask them about any of this, they know NOTHING….. I think they have been a round long enough to have all this under control by now.

Experiencia negativa: me and my partner came in workout and it was to busy for us so we left but we had already checked in, so we double checked with the front desk to make sure since we had checked in and did not workout would it be okay to leave since it was so busy, she said no problem, me and my partner went out to our car and a few minutes later the desk receptionist followed us out to our car to get our license plate number, it was so disturbing me and my partner immediately left because she kept walking around our car, a very racist atmosphere here

Experiencia negativa: If there were a “zero star” to give, I surely would. We were signed up for the YMCA basketball course for the 2 present summer months. The scheduled practices were expected to be every Tuesday evening with games scheduled on Saturday mornings. The coach that we were assigned to missed a total of 3 practices thus far as well as a Saturday game. Again, summer is a very short season so this was nearly half of the time we expected. Concerned about the lack of participation on the coach’s behalf, I emailed the director of the sports program, Phillip Williams, to inform him of my concerns which in turn he told me that basically in so many words was not the YMCA’s problem, but instead the problem of the coach who I must keep in mind is not being compensated for her services being that she is a volunteer. However, because the payment was made directly to the YMCA it is also a poor reflection of how their programs work. If you are paid for something and you aren’t supplying that service, what are you even charging for? I’m beyond disappointed and in the future will not be using the YMCA’s services any longer. I advise anyone looking for a sports program to first do your research before paying your money towards it, especially at the YMCA since we now know that due to their coaches being volunteers there isn’t a contract demanding that they participate in practices or games. Instead they are able to choose what and when they want to participate with the paid program. $120 was flushed down the drain so be sure you know what you’re signing up for before using the Y.

Experiencia negativa: Long story short.. I signed my daughter up to take swimming lessons for the mornings.. The first day we got there Sarah Kelly told me we have to come back in the evening because there was no one to teach my daughter at the time. I asked for a refund Sarah Kelly told me it will take 5 days so at this point it’s been 3 weeks. Sarah Kelly gave me the run around and ignored my calls and messages. So I had call my bank and do a dispute for the transaction to get my money back.

Experiencia negativa: My first time at this location most staff not friendly but the guys near the pool were, they invited us to get in the pool. I have a family membership but this location not family friendly. I was told I have to bring my own basketball, also the little kiddy room my 5yr old and 10yr old couldn’t go in there because a staff member said no one in there to watch the kids. I didn’t feel welcome at all, I left right away. This location is around the corner from where I live but I’d rather go elsewhere.

I went to the Manship Y to continue Zumba with Tania who is an awesome instructor that moved from Pennington to this Y. I have continued to do Zumba at Manship because their Zumba instructors are so motivating that you forget your exercising. We have a great group that has developed into many friendships. If you been wanting to try Zumba this is the place!

I love the Active Older Adult class; it seems more “active” than “older” and Jo does a fantastic job of pushing us to do our best while making it fun and welcoming for anyone who comes.
