Experiencia fantástica: Nice facility. Can get crowded.

Experiencia negativa: They really don’t want inquiring potential new members to know the membership price. Called and Dana at the front desk answered. I asked about membership pricing and she said she would transfer me to “Memberships” and they didnt answer so I hung up. Called back and asked Dana the price and she claimed she didnt know (lol yea right). One star for wasting my time trying to retrieve basic information that should be posted on the website and that should not require a phone call. I won’t be joining this fitness center.

Experiencia positiva: The workers are very nice and helpful. But its hard to navigate the place if you haven't been there before and the shower doesn't show which way to turn for hot vs cold water. The swim area doesn't have a play area for small children. The swimsuit spinner machine was out of order.

Experiencia fantástica: Love the J. Variety of classes are excellent. Susan S teaches Cardio Pump and does an excellent job motivating everyone and gives a great workout. Laina teaches spin and is a fabulous instructor. She educates and challenges you throughout the class. So happy they are instructors with the J. Please don't leave!!

Experiencia negativa: I have belonged to the J for over 8 years and always when I come in the gym at night it is reserved and they have some stupid event going on when I’m just trying to come up and work on my basketball game. They promised us a court would always be available to members just trying to practice or play and use however this is not the case and there are countless times, actually on a weekly basis where I have driven all the way to the gym only to leave because the entire gym is reserved by someone or some actual game going on. Please change.

Experiencia negativa: I am happy with the service and ambience of the facility but certainly NOT happy with the way JCC keep charging despite I emailed twice (Nick) and visited membership manager in person to cancel my membership. I am requesting JCC to add the feature in their app to manage the membership.

Experiencia positiva: Very clean facility and professional staff. Both locations are excellent but I now prefer Chesterfield bc it’s less crowded which is important during the pandemic. Right now the mask policy requires masks when not working out and there is one hour a day when everyone must mask up even when exercising. I think these all mask hours should be extended to two hours in the morning and the last 90 minutes before close at night on week days and extend a bit on the weekend. Also some clubs have put up plexiglass in between cardio machines, they may want to consider. I’m fully vaccinated w booster but that does not mean I can’t contract covid…it just improves my recovery chances and even vaccinated folks can still spread it.

Experiencia fantástica: They do a wonderful job of making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. I enjoy classes from every coach and have been a member for over 2 years. The Chesterfield studio is my favorite!

Experiencia fantástica: Unlike the YMCA and the Lodge of Des Peres, the J provides towels (Large Ones), shampoo, body wash, conditioner, etc. The water pressure that comes out of the shower heads is simply amazing. Literally your cleaned from head to toe within 2 minutes. The hospitality is great! The employees are respectful and let you relax. They don't bother you and are not overbearing. The locker rooms are nice with TV's inside. Place is great and compared to the others the price for membership is around the same. I'm surprised they don't charge more $$$ because they are well above the YMCA and others.

Experiencia fantástica: What a pleasure to visit the J!! My mom is a member and I came in as a guest (I live out of town). The facility is super clean and the equipment is well maintained and current. I took a spin class with Alana that was every bit as challenging and fun as the Peloton rides I usually do from home. I couldn't have been welcomed more warmly by Stacy the receptionist, Alana, and the other members taking the spin class. Great experience. I wish I lived in St. Louis so I could join!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent gym and workout place. The place is clean, not too crowded and had array of equipments. The basketball court, indoor and outdoor pool and variety of aerobics, spinning classes make it real fun place to be. We tried two nearby similar facilities: Y and chesterfield athletic club and this is far superior place! Also has a children corner where you can leave the young ones in good care.
