Experiencia positiva: I just started getting therapy here this week on my doctor's referral. Fortunately, I was able to get in quickly for treatment! Another benefit is that PTS is close to home. So far the two PT therapists I have worked with really seem to know their stuff. Because I just started, this won't be my final rating. I will revisit my rating upon completion of my therapy. Hopefully the therapy will correct my issues and I won't have to resort to surgery. So far, so good!

Experiencia positiva: The pool is tiny and difficult to book but great for PT. The gym and locker rooms are small but very nice and PT friendly. I’ve had very mixed results with therapists. They charge a LOT. If you have insurance it’s okay, but wow. I don’t know how the insurance companies pay that much for a couple of exercises with no access to the gym. I don’t think I’d go there for PT unless I needed aquatic therapy.

Their rates are reasonable and worth every penny! I highly recommend them to anyone needing Physical Therapy or who just wants to get more in shape. Don't put off your health. Experiencia fantástica: I love everything about Asheville Family Fitness. From the moment I walk in the door I feel like I am a part of something. The staff has become like friends or family. The atmosphere and energy is always very positive. Our GX4 instructor, Ross, is hugely responsible for keeping me fit and able to run our beautiful trails. He has even begun to join us on our Sunday trail runs! I also attend Trish's Step Aerobics class and LOVE starting my Tuesdays sweating and grooving with her moves and jamming music. I sweat more in her class than I do on the trails! The gym is small enough to get to know the regulars and big enough to get the job done! If you haven't been… plan a visit to Asheville Family Fitness… "where everybody knows your name". Just like Cheers! ;))

Experiencia fantástica: I had been through the mill with the local medical mafia i.e. spine surgeons and pain management money grubbers and wasted my time while being abused. I had been to PT at several different places in NY and eastern NC and they usually made me worse. Before I had my primary care hacker send me on a fool's errand I stopped into this place and I got a good vibe so I figured what the heck.. They actually helped me get out of most of my pain. I still have flare ups because I have stenosis but this place helped more than anything else I've tried.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a great facility with a wonderful training staff. The highly trained staff do a great job of providing individualized attention, even during the small-group training classes. As someone who has had a hard time exercising on my own due to some chronic injuries, I've found the attention to detail and targeted training has enabled me to stay on track. I've even managed to relieve my chronic headaches by working with the physical therapy center as well.

Experiencia fantástica: I LOVE Asheville Family Fitness. It's the first gym I've been in where you get the kind of help that really makes a difference. The staff is very knowledgeable, but what sets them apart is how committed they are to their members. I also love the fact that I have access to Physical Therapists for assistance with old injuries, and for the best way to rehabilitate and strengthen them. Also, I love their classes. I've never been big on classes, but these are fun as well as challenging, and fairly tailor-made for the participants, which is awesome. This is not just any ol' gym. This is a place where you can get support for healing, health, and strength.

Experiencia fantástica: We love going to the gym, my children love playing in the childcare room while I work out and they love the pool for the children's swim classes. Very friendly, supportive, and knowledgable staff. It's the most holistic gym and health center in Asheville. It is a great place for anyone wanting to attain greater health and wellness through physical therapy, exercise, nutrition, etc.

Experiencia fantástica: Made an appointment for Shin splints, and was able to be seen shortly after. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, the therapists are attentive and funny. They explain some of the things that may need to be strengthened to treat your pain and as long as you do the work at home as well, getting better could surprise you on fast it can happen.

Experiencia fantástica: I have seen Marc and Jessen and am very grateful for their insight and care. They have helped me significantly. Thoughtful, kind, skilled, it’s very clear these folks aren’t just going through protocol, but rather giving individualized care and exercises to deal with chronic pain issues and recovery from injury.

Experiencia fantástica: At first I thought I was just going in for some physical therapy, little did I know I was going in to meet my new family. I thought my broken spine was going to be a life sentence of pain, but actually it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I was glad to have Ben's (among many others) help through the process and the incredible indoor and outdoor space of the facility to get back on my feet.

Experiencia fantástica: I have had several sports and work injuries that required physical therapy. Most recently, I broke my pelvis in 5 places that required surgery to repair. I can say that the staff at Asheville Family Fitness are competent and have done an excellent job getting me back on my Feet. I have primarily worked with Andrew and he is knowledgeable, compassionate and helps you push through difficult times towards recovery. Julie who does the scheduling has done an excellent job in working around my needs. In addition the reminder calls are excellent and ensure I don't miss an appointment. Overall could not be happier and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a speedy recovery from an injury.

Asheville Family Fitness is by far the best I have experienced. Talented and caring staff, an excellent facility and superb management all combine to achieve results.

The gym area has plenty of equipment, the steam room for sore muscles, and a pool you can reserve time in. Hasn't been packed so thats a plus too. Friendly staff as well

Experiencia negativa: I can't speak for the therapy, because I never made it that far. As for most of the low ratings, mine is based on dealing with the Business office/reception. I received a $30 fee b/c I called to reschedule 24 hours in advance, and even though their website said there was a 24 hr cancellation policy, they told me it was 48 hr, and hence the fee. When I spoke with the Office Manager, I told her that the website said 24 hours and even sent her a screen shot while we were on the phone. She then told me she was changing the language on the website to 48 hours, but still was unrelenting when it came to waiving my fee. It made absolutely no sense to me. How are they going to see their mistake on their website that I pointed out to them, change it while on the phone with me, tell me they're changing it, and then still charge me the fee? Ahahah! She said I should have known...?? It's kind of humorous, but that kind of stuff is what makes the world the way it is.. I was seeking physical therapy, not internet service or a credit card.. what's up with getting fleeced by fees before I even get in there? Let me just add this to be fair: The Office Manager did take plenty of time to talk with me about this, and I could be wrong, but it sounded to me as if she didn't have the authority to remove the fee, and she did say she was checking with the Director. The end result was the same.

I was in Asheville for two weeks with the Humane Alliance and went to Asheville Family Fitness to workout right when they opened during the business week. Everyone was very friendly. The "Sweating with Oldies" group welcomed me to join them in their class and made sure I was getting along okay in Asheville. They even gave me suggestions of places to visit. The facility is very clean and the equipment is well maintained.

Experiencia fantástica: This is in response to the one star review. I do not work at this facility, but was looking into going there and have friends who have gone there and loved it. I think it's just unfair to give one star because you missed an appointment and wouldn't pay the fee. Paying a missed appointment fee is completely standard practice. While I agree that Merrimon Family Chiropractic is a wonderful place, A) they also charge missed appointment fees like everywhere else and B) they offer different services and it's important to also see a physical therapist if you have long-term issues as I do. If there front staff was unfriendly, give three or four stars. That can be fixed and doesn't make up the core of who the company is. If the actual people providing you care are also not good, that would be the time to give the lowest possible review score.

Experiencia fantástica: All the fine folks at Asheville Family Fitness & Physical Therapy are truly exceptional in the services that they provide. Having experienced a number of different physical therapy providers, I am particularly impressed by the level of knowledge, hands-on approach and genuine patient concern that was provided.

Experiencia negativa: This place is absolutely horrible. The PT's themselves aren't bad, but the office managers or whomever is in charge lack empathy of any kind. I was in a car accident and due to my injury had lost my job. I was going to regular appointments and the treatment was "OK" I guess overall. I thought I had been told they were going to be closed over the Christmas holiday and as a result missed an appointment. ONE appointment. I was told I couldn't come back in until I paid a $30 missed appointment fee. I get it, I understand that these things happen and that someone missed a client, etc. However, under the circumstances, wouldn't it be best NOT to lose a client and overlook ONE missed appointment due to misunderstanding? You would think so, but no. They refused to see me until I paid that fee. I ended up NOT getting the treatment that I needed. I called and told them repeatedly that I was out of work due to the accident and surviving on only $50 a week. They couldn't have cared less. Not only that, but when I asked about other treatment options they were rude, callous and condescending. Surely there are better places in town to take your money and get better treatment? I will not advise anyone to go to this place. They have no client empathy and are only concerned with the bottom dollar. THIS IS A FOLLOW UP: I finally found another place to see me. I am currently being treated at Merrimon Family Chiropractic and I have to tell you the difference is night and day! They have been so kind to me, I am getting much better treatment and it seems my injuries were worse than previously thought. The new place took X-Rays of my neck and back, which LPT never did. They also have my appts scheduled same time, same days of the week so there has been zero confusion. I had to cancel last minute one day and rather than charge me an exorbitant amount of money and then hold my treatments hostage, they simply rescheduled for the later the same day. I strongly recommend that if you have had a car accident or other accident DO NOT go to this place. They will show you zero compassion and mistreat you.
