Experiencia fantástica: A "Perfect Score" Venue for Traveling Sports Families ‍♀️️ We traveled to Waukegan this past weekend for my daughter’s gymnastics competition, and I have to say: the Field House Sports facility is a breath of fresh air for "gym moms" and travel families alike. The Space & Visibility: Usually, these big meets mean being packed like sardines, but this venue is genuinely spacious. We were able to move between the different apparatuses comfortably without feeling like we were tripping over other families. More importantly, the sightlines are excellent—I didn’t have to play "musical chairs" to get a great view of every event. The "Audible" Advantage: If you’ve ever been to a meet where the announcer sounds like they’re shouting through a tin can, you’ll appreciate this: the speaker system is crystal clear. We could hear every announcement and score without any issues, which is a rare win in a large sports complex. The Logistics (The Real MVP): As a traveling parent, the "extras" make or break the weekend. • Parking: Plenty of it. No "hunger games" style search for a spot. • Proximity: There are a ton of solid food and hotel options nearby, making the "commute" between the hotel and the meet completely stress-free. The Verdict: Field House Sports is clearly designed to handle high-volume events without the high-volume stress. It’s clean, well-organized, and strategically located. If your athlete has a competition here, breathe a sigh of relief—it’s a great facility. Power Reviewer Tip: Since there’s plenty of room, you don't need to arrive too early to scout a seat, but do take advantage of the nearby restaurants for a post-meet celebration!

Experiencia fantástica: Wow! For a little over 30 dollars a month this beautiful facility has everything you need for your fitness and well being! Very clean, very modern and awesome friendly staff! It's almost too good to be true!

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been a gold member at the Field House for about a year now. We frequent the establishment weekly. Myself, my mother and my two year old daughter. Today just me and my 2 year old arrived to play basketball for a bit. I brought both of our membership cards in and left my purse in the car because of previous theft in the facility. I ask for a ball . Provide MARY my card, my daughter’s card. She says she needs my drivers license. I tell her it’s in the car because I don’t want to bring my purse back in, we often get a ball for my daughters FATHER with my membership card because he never carry’s any ID. She tells me no I need to take my 2 year old back in 20 degree weather. I am at a point where I would just rather cancel my membership than go through weird interactions like this one. Especially with the severity of the weather and just trying to get out and be active. The gold membership has provided no level of customer service or convenience. Will be canceling and telling my friends to sign up for bears fit or planet fitness that are both close to the area. Do not waste your time or money.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been coming to the field house for years now. Not sure why they charge the prices they do for memberships when it takes them 1-3 weeks sometimes to fix a machine that’s down in the weight room. Also when the filter on the water fountains are at RED meaning they need to be changed right away, they stay like that for sometimes weeks before they get changed. Right now it’s going on a week and a half that the water fountain between both locker rooms in the weight room is on red and hasn’t been changed!

Experiencia negativa: No track etiquette.Signs are posted everywhere.They say, walking lane one, passing lane 2, running lane 3. Do not walk in groups that block these lanes but ignorant, selfish people really don't care. I saw one jogger hit the wall, trying to get around their slow butts. I told staff members at the front desk and pulled out a picture. They said it's not their problem. "it's self regulated" I disagree. If someone gets hurt, it will be their problem.

Experiencia fantástica: Really cool place with a lot to offer. The basketball courts are big, the gym has plenty of space and equipment, and the pool is really nice. It does get packed sometimes, but it’s definitely worth having a membership. Overall, a great spot for staying active and enjoying different sports. Highly recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: We had the BEST experience having our daughter’s birthday party here at the kiddie pool area. The recreation supervisor Anthony Strack made securing the space a breeze, even accommodating a last minute switch in location. The lifeguards and pool staff were kind, professional, and observant of the kids, which made the water with many kids under 5 feel so safe. The door staff were friendly and quick to get our guests in the door, while maintaining community safety. We loved our experience with the parks district and would host events with them again!

Experiencia positiva: I've been a member for a year-and-a-half. I do enjoy going when I can. Some of the staff seems very friendly. I do believe the front desk could be a little bit Friendlier to the people walking in the front door .. and I just went back again and they're still doing the same stuff and now they're talking about the guest badly

Experiencia fantástica: Waukegan Park District Field House is Very Family Members Orientated to Satisfy all Your Excitement in Excersing, Swimming and all Activities to Enjoy. You can even get a coach for your One on one. Weight room is awesome. The therapy pool is Heaven. Very affordable Memberships.

Experiencia negativa: Nice place but ... apparently visited by people who can't read as they take food and drinks to the swimming pool even is written there not to and the staff doesn't care about that and does nothing. Really gross :-(

Experiencia negativa: It's more like a jail house recreation center now. I don't know what happened but they are 1 step away from frisking you & having metal detectors. I'm uncomfortable with the amount of staff and the new changes. I use to work at the county jail & this look is way to familiar. IN ADDITION, they have cut amenities, no longer have towels, & they get a part of our tax money right though the park district. #leavingsoon

Experiencia negativa: This gym used to be great clean, modern equipment so the employees always kind and helpful as of today it has not changed. But something that is making it be any other gym like the ones in the area unlike the gym that was in the past. Is seeing how people who does not pay membership gets inside just waiting by the main door waiting to get inside by waiving friends whose already are inside to let them in. Same situation and worse the second floor the friends just walk the track and wait for gym employees to walk away and wave some of the friends already inside to let them in totally unfair my husband paying our membership while other just walk inside without paying, unfair for us the members paying our dues and they taking advantage that noboby checks if only members are inside. The right thing should be everyone paying for this service. As previously mentoned employees are great.

Experiencia positiva: Great gym with much to do. They link a lot of activities through the gym so it’s never a boring day including the rock wall which is a blast. My only true disappointments were as a parent because they used to do childcare for a couple hours in the evening so I could work out but it stopped immediately after I signed up. And another thing I loved was the family pool but the schedule is kind of wonky with the different classes. Overall, a great gym and community center.

Experiencia negativa: I don't leave poor reviews but The FieldHouse is definitely doing some false advertising. Went to sign up as a new member with the bronze membership. The flyer and online said that includes batting cages, asked to use them and front desk said "oh its actually $55 per hour". Front desk told us it was free while signing us up So why is it listed as free, and why didnt you advertise as free? Also, says that you get an orientation with a personal trainer and the front desk asked for someone to come up multile times but they never did. Didn't bother asking about any of the other amenities listed and canceled the membership. They have free walking for waukegan residents but only certain times so that's something.

Experiencia positiva: I love it here. We have been coming for about two months taking classes and using aquatic center. Staff are super friendly. Cleanliness needs to be priority but I clean if I need to to feel more comfortable. It's a huge place and many people coming in and out I get it that it can't be pristine.

People know me I'm a great guy and you people ban me ? I do not recommend this gym to nobody

Experiencia negativa: Many inept young employees as well as silly old senior employees, really poor maintenance amenities break down whether it's the sauna or the steam room all of which needs a deep cleaning the showers are in lamentable shape and barely kept up with chewing gum in one particular shower stall on the weight resistance side regularly gets placed by some disgusting member and stays there for days before it is removed from the soap dish as a facility it has tremendous potential

Everyone that works here is super nice and and sweet, the lady that’s at the front desk every morning with long hair it’s very sweet she’s always doing her job and whenever I have a question she always has a answer for me. There’s also Omar, every time he’s at the gym he’s always cheering everyone up giving us motivation. He’s always cleaning even when he’s off the clock. He really does make a difference when he’s there. I’ve been coming here for over a year and I love it.❤️

Experiencia positiva: Place is nice. Lap lanes were pretty chilly felt under the 80° temp it’s suppose to be. Family rooms were spacious and they offer towels for the pool you can check out. We were thinking of getting a membership here as it starts at 29$ and up and for a family of 4+ would be 69$ BUT we found out once we arrived they no longer do childcare, so if your looking for a family gym this isn’t the place unless there older then 12+

Experiencia fantástica: Lots of things to do, huge gym, several pools, open early morning till 10pm, indoor track mostly for walking, outdoor 3 laps per mile track at times very busy however nice community feeling. I like the lap swimming available almost any time facility is open. Pictures of well organized gymnastics competition.

Experiencia fantástica: Staff is friendly,fitness/weight room is clean plenty of space,the showers are clean, the low rate of 29 per month is good just wishing you could bring a buddy or otherwise it be a 20+ additional extra per month. All you need is some really good music and can block of the world and focus on you. I have just started coming here,although i come alone and was a bit shy at first, you get used to people there because when you look at it, the people there for the same reason as you are to exercise,and you'll feel good afterward for doing so. This is the closest gym to my house and like it. The outside track and park look stunning from inside the fitness room. Look forward to coming here again soon!
