Experiencia negativa: Had a really bad and embarrassing experience, I decided to take a family friend to the gym since he was looking for one and they wouldn’t allow him to come in and check it out for one day and wanting to charge him $20 it’s crazy! He end up getting a membership at in-shape and im thinking on joining him as well..

Experiencia negativa: Worst experience ever after being a member for more than 2 years I’ve finally had convinced my 2 friends to come to the gym they wanted to check it out first but the front desk workers where being so unprofessional and did let them come in to check it out so I’ve decided that same day to cancel my membership and when straight to in-shape they gave us a 3 free day pass they give us towels every time you come in and when you sign in you can bring a free guest with you it’s just amazing so if anyone is looking for a gym “city sports” it’s definitely not for you ‍♂️

Experiencia positiva: I genuinely enjoy City Sports in Antioch and the gym is clean, organized and well maintained. The staff is friendly, welcoming and consistently greets members. Overall, the gym itself is great and I always look forward to coming here! However, there is one ongoing issue that I feel needs to be addressed because it affects the experience for other members so I'd have to minus 1 star. One individual regularly brings his dog into the gym. While it's described as an "emotional support animal, it's NOT a service dog and does not appear to be well trained. I've personally seen the dog roaming freely without the owner noticing, laying on stretching mats where people are trying to work out, sitting in the middle of the walkways and licking people who are clearly just trying to exercise! I am a HUGE animal lover and I have absolutely no problem with dogs in public spaces (when they are properly trained, closely supervised, and under control). Having an untrained dog roaming around creates obvious hygiene and safety concerns and it's honestly a bit uncomfortable. I've also seen a legitimate service dog at this gym before (very cute!) and the difference between the two are like night and day. That dog stays right by its owner's side, doesn't interfere with anyone and behaves EXACTLY how a service dog should. It's very clear that training and owner awareness makes a huge difference... something the other dog's owner could definitely learn from. If you're going to bring a dog into a gym, awareness and responsibility should be the bare minimum. I would honestly be embarrassed if my dog were roaming around, licking strangers or laying in the middle of workout areas while I wasn't paying attention. Loving your dog is great!! But respecting everyone else in a shared space is even better!! Again, City sports in Antioch is a great gym with excellent staff. I just hope management considers setting clear expectations around animals in the facility so that all members can work out comfortably and safely (without having to step over a dog on the way to their next set).

Experiencia negativa: Honestly so disappointed, my friend has a membership here and mind you she was helping City Sports to gain a member. Never been here so I was trying to try out the gym, did the 3 day free trial and the guy was being very rude about me not being able to get in because he said it takes “24 hours” to activate when no where on the website it says that. I’m super disappointed never will I come back again and will not recommend this gym, staff is super rude instead of gaining customers they are loosing customers.

Experiencia positiva: A large, well equipped, well designed and maintained sports club. Includes a swimming pool and Basket ball court. Coaches are available. There is a well run Day care for looking after the children accompanying their parents to the club. The staff are friendly. The users are polished. Ample free parking space available. Charges are very reasonable. Strongly recommended.

Experiencia negativa: I had a very disappointing experience at City Sports today. I went in with a guest pass, but the staff member at the front desk—a shorter man with a darker complexion—refused to scan it, claiming I had already used it. He was extremely rude and lacked basic manners. I felt humiliated by the way I was treated. Based on this experience, I will not be returning and would not recommend this gym to anyone I know.

Experiencia negativa: Worst customer service, been going to this gym for years and have never been greeted as I walk in and check in. Cancelled, build your own gym at home guys. Save your money.

Experiencia positiva: Been coming here for almost 3 years with my husband. Pretty basic gym, wish they had more updated equipment but it’s get the job done. Biggest complaint… the music in here is so LOUD for no reason. As a person with sensory issues I’ve gone through 3 different types of noise cancelling headphones. Between the gym music and the Zumba classes with the door open I get overwhelmed. This is the only reason I’m considering trying a new facility.

Experiencia negativa: I signed up and when I went to cancel my membership, they kept charging me even though I hadn't checked in and would not refund.My 3 months that was charged on my card. Very no carrying staff.

Experiencia negativa: I visited Antioch Memorial day week. My cousin and father in Law both are members in this Gym. They gave me a link for free pass for a week which never worked. The employee did let me get in for one day. I went to 24hrs fitness for the rest of the week. No issues with the pass. Employee had no clue why that happened, only to say "people take advantage of the pass that is the reason company do not allow it". How nice of a customer service policy. Will encourage my family to drop these clowns

Experiencia negativa: Gym is ok but I went today to try out the 3 day pass and the guy there was very disrespectful. He immediately turned on our 3 day pass and he wasn’t taking me and my brother seriously when we asked about the membership. Guy was just smirking at me thinking something was funny. I’m guessing that guy is the manager but I definitely don’t recommend coming here at all.

Experiencia fantástica: I've been a member for over a year now and I can confidently say that this is a top quality gym with ample equipment. It's a pretty huge space and hence naturally comes with its own set of occasional maintenance challenges which are usually addressed in a timely manner. I appreciate the overall efforts of the staff and management.

It's a good thing that I didn't trust some of the negative comments that others have wrote, because they are not accurate. Making the move to City Sports Club what's the best decision that I've made in regards to my fitness.

Experiencia negativa: I've been a member for over 3 years ,I've seen staff come and go, I have rules that changes and not what I've signed or what I've been told. No one never calls you back from the corporate office and the spa/ jacuzzi has been down over a month they can never keep it clean. When I first became a member I was fastedtalk into a membership to pay money for a family membership of four people but while singing I was told that what I was signing but it was nothing of the sort , it was something different. I also told them I was disabled band wasn't a good reader and ask him to read it for me so I can know what I was signing. This man also ask me my 4 members names and I went back to him to change two members names. So a year has passed there are new staffs again trying to get your business and you your money that is faithful deduct it out of your bank account every month. So I was told the paperwork that I signed was not a member of 4 account/ membership and that my wife had to pay again to go on my account and pay down payment and a extra $40 a monthly on my account. I felt I was mislead, taking advantage of, lied to, and talking to these people asking for my contract was a hassle. I also told them I was only getting the membership because my daughter was overweight and disabled and have a lot of health problems but I like to be in the water so I like the jacuzzi and spa my child was underage at the time. From day one I was never on a family membership package. I was manipulated and lied to to signed up at that time. I have to pay 20 a PC for my family to come in ,there's no names on my account. And they standing ten times down that's what I signed. And I did but that's not what me my and adult cousin was read before I signed.

Experiencia positiva: I’ve been a member of this gym since 2022. It’s been great for my personal goals. It’s usually clean and tidy thanks to the employee who wears glasses with short black hair. I haven’t seen them in a while so I hope they are still employed here. The employee with the colored dark/blue hair is always friendly and cleaning up in the ladies locker room, too. The employees are pretty good here but these two have stood out to me personally. Great work ethic. It has been getting busier in the mornings and now midday. I do have one suggestion: early morning classes! I’d love to join the classes if they were available in the early morning. I saw that they recently added a mat pilates class which I am excited to try. I hope there are more times that become available for this class sooner rather than later. Just one star removed for the lack of early morning classes. Other than that it is a great gym!

Experiencia negativa: I dropped off my son like I have done many times before to play basketball. No one has ever said anything. As, I am walking out a girl at the front asks if I will be staying. I said no I will be back .She states that I can't drop off my guests. I said well I have done this all the time. It hasnt been you when I come in. She then says I have spoken to you about this before and the district manager has called you. I said what, that's not true and you have never said anything about my son and no one has called me. She proceeded to argue with me. So, we going back and forth. I get my son and I said has she ever said anything to you? She says it's in the notes, so I say let me see where it notes you have spoken to me and I was called. She then says I can't its internal girl bye you lying. If its noted then you should be able to back up what your saying and she couldn't. Then she says October something at 5:34. I said yeah that's the last time he came in here and you weren't here. She just went on the last time I scanned in at that time for my son. Then some dude walked up telling me to be quiet boy get out my face. This girl is straight up lying. I guess she needed something to do. Just for lying I canceled my membership. Girl you got the wrong somebody. I guess they pick and choose who they do that too I see it all the time when I was coming regularly. Sometimes, I would come early morning or afternoon. The girl that opens is really cool the people on Saturdays really cool. This girl yes I am calling her a girl because she is. I stopped coming because the gym is nasty only one person cleans. The machines are grouse. One time there wasn't any toilet seat covers for a week. Give me planet fitness, 24 hour or Inshape any day.

Experiencia positiva: Only great thing about it is Location in Antioch. But it is short of so many amenities or equipments. Big negative is no racquetball court in it. Compared to other City Sports center, its smaller and the number equipments you could use are very less and little too closer to the other equipment to work out. Could have been better with larger space or reduce the membership fees compared to other bay area locations which has more for same amount of fees. Though location is the only best positive thing about it.

Experiencia fantástica: Huge gym with great equipment. Not a lot of weight time. There are enough equipment for everyone. There is a separate weights lifting section as well. An affordable place with access to pool and sauna!

Experiencia positiva: Been coming here since around 2018. The gym is spacious lots of new machines. It has plenty of squat racks and benches. Upstairs is cardio. Some of their stair masters have been broken for past 6 months need to get that fixed, everything else is legit. It gets crowded from 3:30p - 7p. Pretty empty from opening to around 3p and from 7p til closing. The mens locker room could be a bit cleaner. Keep the soap dispensers full and paper towels. In 2019 my car window got broken in the gym parking lot. It was an increasing concern as others where getting broken into as well. They have a Cop come by and patrol the lots ever so often now. Over all minus my incident in 2019, its a good gym. Has all the basic stuff you need. Staff is chill mostly mind their business and I've never had an issue with staff. 3/5 since i got my car broken into at the lot, cleaner locker rooms, fix cardio machines.

She’s all about what you want out of your work out and supports and follows through to keep you on the right track to reach your goal . Best experience hands down and work out had me feeling it throughout my whole entire body . She’s legit

Experiencia positiva: Since joining this gym over 3 years ago (when they first opened), I've seen minimum improvements and an influx of members. Not sure if all of them are paying members becuase certain level of membership allows you to bring 2 extra people for the price of one. The place has gotten really crowded after the pandemic and wait time for equipment can be long. You definitely have to adjust your workout per availability. If you come after 8pm, the parking lot is pitched black. I've notified the staff a couple of times and they simply ignore me. They said the lights are on a timer. I understand that but that doesn't mean the timer is properly set. The parking lot should be brightly lite during evening hours for the safety of everyone. The staff does a decent job keeping the place clean. Membership verification is too lax and no inforcements of proper gym attire. I've seen people in sandals working out. I only continue coming here because of convenience.

Experiencia negativa: I signed up a month ago and was told I pay only the monthly fee. I also paid a hundred additional because I don’t want to be in contract. In the end of the month they charged me annual fee which they never mentioned. This place is run by bad management and they are not ethical at all.

Experiencia positiva: I started with this gym since november 2021, inspite of having a lot of machines, and less walkable space available, a recent rezoning, has made the gym look like a machine market. a new turf for the functional training, and squat racks.The gym still follows covid protocols, front desk staff is very helplful, they have contactless checkin. depending on the membership, you get to access basketball court, otherwise you get the pool, sauna, and hottub access. Value for money, but its getting crowded nowadays..so plan ahead.

Experiencia positiva: Nice place lots of options and these gyms are usually very good. Big complaint, don’t know if workers are just lazy because you do usually see them lounging, and the same one or two doing everything else around the place. They don’t have vacuums a mop ? Restrooms stay ok and I do see the same workers cleaning them but the main gym don’t drop nothing on the floor because they do not get cleaned ever neither to the machines . Pick up any of the many weights and you’ll see the dirt caked up on the stand. Look at the machines they never get wiped down. If I put my phone on the floor I pick it up and there is dirt hair rocks stuck to it. If they were to clean this would be an amazing place.

Experiencia fantástica: I had issue when signing up for city sports however, a wonderful lady name Amanda help me through all the technical issue. Thank you Amanda for all your help in signing up. She was very professional and nice to me, most gyms I go to are very aggressive but she explain my options and gave me recommendation. I've been going to city sports gym on and off for the past 5 years. I tried multiple gym like inshape, planet fitness, 24 hours and diamond hills but I preferred city sports because of how clean it is and all the equipment available to us. Overall, I highly suggest visiting and going to this gym because it by far the best one in the city.

Experiencia fantástica: This gym is huge plenty of equipment lots of squat racks rarely have to wait and if I do there's usually a great second option I love how clean it is the cardio equipment is always available even during social distancing I've never had to wait in a line to get into this gym all hours of the day.
