Experiencia fantástica: I posted this review, because I realized the personal training (PT) team is world class, and I think other reviewers don't want the secret to get out. Honestly, you are probably sleeping on the improved quality of your movement, health, strength, and body image if you don't sign up for at least one session with a team member. I was able to realize my fitness goals and I noticed an improved quality of movement that ended up translating to unintention pain relief amidst other positive benefits. Do yourself a favor, try it.

Experiencia fantástica: Best toilet paper of any gym I’ve ever been to. Soft and strong toilet paper, thicker than a protein shake. None of this 1-ply transparent stuff that you see out there. Quality where others would cut corners. The gym facilities itself are also high quality and clean with a nice variety of amenities. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Experiencia positiva: The free tea & coffee were replaced by ads for a new coffee shop with a one-dollar discount...It's been very detrimental to the collective lounge reading/working sessions which I appreciated so much about Mactivity. Returning from the summer, the community atmosphere seem to have dissipated, and things feel way more corporate, and the membership fee only seems to be on the rise. Just canceled my membership this morning - sad to say goodbye.

Experiencia negativa: Benefits have declined while rates rise. The license to Les Mills classes has been terminated, members are charged higher rates, and group fitness teachers are being pressured to teach classes without licenses. Just this week the mangers announce they will no longer provide the coffee members were charged for to pressure members to support their friends coffee shop. The moral compass here is off and managers need to reevaluate their priorities.

Experiencia negativa: I had a very bad experience with the manager of this gym regarding my membership. I attempted to cancel the membership on the second of February after I was charged on the first of February. They took 3 days to get back to me. The manager Rose Martin did not agree about reimbursing me at all. If you decide to sign up for this gym, I recommend being cautious about giving your credit card due to this lack of flexibility. To be clear, I am upset about their policies about reimbursement, the delay in cancellation for 3 days and the fact that I need to log in to their website to cancel the membership instead of doing this cancellation over the phone or email (to clarify I initially attempted to cancel this membership via the app Mactivity and was not able to). In my opinion, would not recommend this gym due to poor customer service which genuinely soured my experience at this gym.

Andrew (awesome employee!) fearlessly sacrificed his arm to reach back into the stair stepper and retrieved the case, and buds individually. Thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty!

Lots of equipment and machines. The customers seemed happy and like they had a sense of community. I wish I lived here so I could go to this gym.

Experiencia fantástica: this is the best gym. yes it's more expensive than Payne or Planet Fitness, however I would pick this gym over those any day--the equipment is brand new and in great shape/well-maintained (especially the iFit treadmills which are AMAZING), unlimited classes are included (that alone can more than pay for the membership), there's a sauna and a steam room in the locker rooms, free cryo and compression once a month, they have free tea and coffee at the entrance, there's a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere (lots of different kinds of people of varying fitness levels and no one making anyone feel like they don't belong). The staff is all super friendly. They also host monthly social gatherings. Also you accrue points by going and they have actually nice rewards like a great gym bag, yoga mat, free sessions with trainers, extra cryo and compression sessions, and more. Totally, totally worth the price. Really can't say enough good things about this place. I hated gyms until this gym so that says a lot!!!

Despite its advertising as a community-oriented and inclusive environment, it does not live up to those claims. An overall unfriendly environment. Note, they claim any person that leaves a bad review "isn't a member". I came as a guest and won't be returning.

Experiencia fantástica: MActivity offers tons of exercise opportunities for everyone. I am amazed at the amount and diversity of the exercise equipment. You could never run out of things to do. The classes I have taken are very good. The culture is diverse and welcoming. I have been working with a trainer and have made great progress in overcoming injury. The price is amazing for all they have to offer. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Cleanest and best maintained gym I’ve ever been to. Way better to go to than giant gym chains or the cursed Payne Whitney. Not the cheapest option but definitely think you get your money’s worth. They have great communal space and social events and cool stuff like cryotherapy which I had never tried before but liked a lot. I cannot emphasize how much cleaner this gym is compared to much larger chains and I really have to applaud the staff for keeping it spotless. Out of order machines weren’t really a problem for me here either, and ending my membership was really easy. The other gym members were overall very respectful. If I had to name a downside, I would say it would be some of the classes that occur around 5pm/6pm that take up a lot of the turf space and use a loud timer that I found distracting; I would prefer if larger classes were not at peak time and less disruptive, but not a huge deal. Would definitely have stayed a member if I stayed in New Haven!

Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend this fitness center. The available space is insufficient, they employ unprofessional attendants, and offer limited operating hours. If you’re a Yale student, go to Payne or consider a similarly situated commercial gym. The gym's space is notably inadequate compared to commercial gyms, resulting in frequent machine congestion and workout delays. One of their attendants, Brian, exhibits unprofessional behavior by frequently badgering long-standing members about their membership status, often implying they don't belong. Brian seems disinterested in assisting members and prefers not to be approached. His presence is mainly during the evening shift, so it's advisable to avoid that time for a hassle-free workout. Also, the gym's closing time is notably early compared to similar gyms in the vicinity. Consider choosing an alternative gym that offers lower costs, more space, and fosters a more inclusive and welcoming environment.

Experiencia negativa: Me and all my friends were kicked out and the owner said and I quote "I own and business and we don't need you're money" and made up things that we supposedly did at the gym like disrespecting staff and leaving out equipment in which we have never done. Do not go here, their gym is also very small and has a lack of machines and weights and doesn't fix machines quickly at all. For 100+ dollars a months your simply getting scammed go to planet fitness for a better gym for 80 less dollars a month.

Experiencia negativa: I'm shocked and disappointed by the mActivity gym new membership fees at $149 per month. There's no pool there and a very limited space in general. They are creating a non-inclusive, white and elitist facility and should be ashamed of themselves.

From the friendly, personable staff who go above and beyond, to awesome classes that are included, to the incredible spa area with a sauna and steam room…all contribute to an all inclusive, amazing experience. I’ve used the chryotherapy and compression treatment that’s offered, and how recharged I feel when done, speaks for itself. The owners are so generous…They have themed monthly community events, that bring people together, and opportunity for local businesses to take part in. I have joined many gyms in different areas of the state and on the west coast…Mactivity has exceeded all my expectations and more. The best gym ever ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Experiencia fantástica: This is a wonderful gym! Gyms can be intimidating, but everyone at mActivity (staff, members, instructors, etc) is so kind. It's a great and clean facility with a lot of natural light. The gym offers a variety of fitness classes everyday (yoga, barre, strength training, spin, and more!) that are included in your membership. I spent the majority of my time taking classes because I needed the guided workout and energy that can only come from a class workout. All of the instructors are amazing and great at keeping the music and workouts interesting, but a special shout out must go to LaToya who is so strong and whose classes are so fun that I barely noticed how hard I was working. There are too many perks that come with the membership to name all of them but here are some of my favorites: monthly catered socials, a point system where you can accumulate them by signing up for classes and referring friends to the gym and then redeem them for gym swag or personal training sessions, free towel service, and a sauna. I'm moving away so I can't enjoy this gym anymore but I hope this review convinces you to join!!

Experiencia negativa: It’s a standard gym. I’ve certainly been to better. In general, the gym is clean and offers a good variety of equipment and classes. Additionally, there is usually little to no wait time for equipment. Unfortunately, the lack of professionalism of one staff member in particular ruins the entire experience every time she is there, hence the reason for the 1 start rating. When I ask her to sign me in for my visit, she acts as though I’m asking for her first born and insists that I use my key card, which I don’t carry bc it will get lost (I don’t carry any key cards for that matter - my choice/decision). I also caught her looking at me in the locker room one day when I was getting dressed. She clearly doesn’t know what is appropriate and what isn’t. For a gym with a mind/body mission they are failing the former miserably. I go to the gym to take care of myself, and find I leave more often than not extremely annoyed, frustrated, disgusted, etc. Looking into other better options…

Literally everything I could ever want is in this gym, the weights and machines are phenomenal and the group classes are amazing! Also all of the amenities are seriously unreal. The sauna and the steam room are both amazing but the new cryotherapy is a whole other level. I hate being cold so I was hesitant to try it but HOT DANG the energy it gives you before a workout is like endogenous prework out! mActivity is seriously my happy place!

Experiencia fantástica: I loved being a member of this gym! Everyone there is so welcoming and friendly, especially Burch, Rose, and Pablo! They hold social gatherings/art openings that are catered and really fun! The place is spotless and I saw people cleaning all of the time. They have great equipment, great classes, and great customers. The space is really well organized and I felt comfortable in all spaces, including the benches for weight lifting! I recommend this gym to graduate students especially! Free coffee and a workspace made working out fit more regularly into my schedule!

Experiencia fantástica: Mactivity is by far the best gym around. Can't ask for a better staff. Owners are hands on and most people are on a first name basis. Mactivity provide all the necessities required to keep yourself physically fit. Steam room, sauna, freeze booth (cryo), red light therapy. They provide classes including yoga. Staff offers towels as well. If you're running late and you forgot your coffee, there is a coffee shop right next door. There is a convenient store/gas station 2 doors down also. There is a special staff person who catered to members who have diabetes. Love this place.

Experiencia fantástica: I love mActivity. it has everything I want plus some. Not just a full gym and classes, but a community that is fostered by the front living room/Cafe. The front room is great for mixing work with working out. My office away from office. Add to that steam and sauna as well as the new cryotherapy, it is just the complete setup. The food hall and brewery next door rounds out the complete picture. Eat/Drink and then work it off and finally relax with a sauna or cryotherapy.

Experiencia fantástica: I have never taken a dance class in my life and I LOVED fire and ice class. The instructed is wonderful. Her attitude is contagious. I'm going to sign up for more of her classes, and try more new things. The atmosphere at MyActivity is actually a no judgement zone. It has fosters an atmosphere that causes other patrons to be respectful, clean, and the energy is just good. Literally never been to a gym like that. The variety of equipment and fitness types is awesome. It literally covers every fitness trend/type. I just saw cryotherapy has been added which is amazing! Plus the stretching offered! It's truly holistic.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a member of this gym for almost a year and it is very worth the membership fees for me. Even through COVID, they provide a nice mix of classes so that my workout never feels overly routine or stale. Additionally, between the turf, machine, rack, and free weights sections, there are adequate equipment for so many people to work out at the same time without feeling crowded. Cardio section is fine, though many of the spin bikes have dead monitors and I’ve seen quite a few treadmills be down. The instructors and classes are really good and mostly quite qualified. My favorites are jessica, latoya, julia, steph, and lisa. I wish there were more classes similar to jessicas (hour long hiit with weights/not dancing) and i wish there were some diversity in the instructors in charge of teaching the dance fitness classes (i think ive been to all 5 offered and while good, all are taught by white women). I also would love a class like that to be scheduled later in the day on the weekends for those of us who dont love waking up early on weekends. Finally, in terms of amenities, i love having fresh towels, the sauna is good, and the points rack up pretty fast if youre going a lot so you can get the inbody assessments or even do training. The showers are nice, and the mask brackets are useful

Aside from my childhood gym on the west coast which was pretty sweet, this gym is a solid 5 stars. Well done. Clean. Nice staff. Good equipment. What more do need? Maybe just a couple more stair masters, but first world problems immaright?

Experiencia fantástica: In these days of hoping to get what you paid for this place stands an unusual ode to value. It isn't cheap but affordable and one price gives full access to classes (in person and virtually), so no extra fees for them. Big enough but not so large it feels impersonal. The front porch and foyer are pleasant enough to hold small meetings and the free wifi means study space without corn muffins and triple shots ruining a great workout. Clean space, great equipment, points earned for showing up. The staff is pleasant and low key. Classes cover good options too.

I like the 2 days free trail, you can check the gym and see if you like it, they have, family and monthly and annual plans. It’s very clean and organized. However, You have to park on the street but there’s a nearby parking. Ultimately I recommend this place.

Experiencia fantástica: I am 63 and a long-time runner and exerciser. I have belonged to a lot of gyms, but mActivity is without a doubt the best gym I have ever belonged to. A huge selection of equipment; you never have to wait for something. AND a huge selection of classes; yoga, pilates, and great "trainer specials." And for me, the absolutely unique and best thing are the 30 minute "turf classes," with a dedicated trainer urging everyone on and working on form of a large variety of exercises that lead to a fantastic "whole body" shaping by the end. Exhausting, but wonderful! The trainers and staff are great! Responsive, always available, and knowledgeable. And this gym costs much LESS than anything even approaching it in other cities. We could also discuss ample parking, wine and food bar in the front, music and literature activities, community meeting spaces.... But the gym itself is enough for five stars. mActivity sets a high standard that, I predict, other gyms will try to emulate. mActivity should patent its design! Six stars if that were available!

The equipment is state-of-the-art, the employees are all kind and wise (especially the yoga instructors!), and the space is a genuine pleasure to enter. Between the yoga/dance studio, the pilates/biking studio, the strength training equipment, the wide array of cardio machines, cafe, recreation room, bar, music lounge--there is really something for everyone. It was my greatest joy in New Haven, and I'll truly miss it!

Experiencia negativa: This company charged me $350 for five months after I canceled, and refused to find out who else they’re doing it to. Five months ago, I canceled my membership online. Well, a couple days ago I see they’ve been charging me this whole time! I called the front desk who took my information, told me this happens sometimes, and a manager would be in touch. If it’s happened to other people, there's clearly a bug in their cancelation software or business process. What have they done to fix it? More importantly, what have they done to find out who else is affected? Apparently, absolutely nothing given the situation was not detected over the last five months. After speaking with Alisha, I received no word of apology. I told her that if this has happened before, it’s likely going to happen again, and is probably happening right now to others. She told me, “it’s not my job" to find out whose cancelations weren’t processed. Alisha, that’s the bare minimum you can do. That’s the kind of response I expect out of a business who takes no responsibility for its mistakes. It IS your job if you make it your job. Do better. You too, Pablo. If you do something, do it right. Most importantly, do right by your clients. To anyone thinking of joining, best take your business elsewhere. This is business as usual from yet another gym that takes your money any way they can.

Experiencia fantástica: The best gym ever! The facility is excellent and clean and they are always adding new equipment. The staff is friendly and the classes are super fun. The price is great for all of the additional things included. This is the best gym I have been a member of in a long time!

Experiencia fantástica: This is a unique gym. It has a comfortable and spacious community space and equipment and trainers for everyone. Want to powerlift? They have you covered. Want to do classes? They have those too. Want a comfortable atmosphere welcoming to all? Check. I have never seen so many people of varying ages, fitness levels, and exercise styles working out in one gym. This place is great and the ownership really cares about having the best equipment for all fitness types.

The friendly and helpful staff are ready to help you meet your fitness goals. Members have unlimited access to group classes; at least five are offered each day. There is something for everyone, whatever your age, interest, or fitness level. Those seeking a personal trainer have that option at an additional cost. This relatively new addition to the East Rock neighborhood is much more than a fitness center, offering spaces for community gatherings, a public café, and a venue for Sunday evening concerts. Experiencia fantástica: What a cool concept for a community space. We saw two great folk groups here. A variety of seating was available from tables and chairs to couches. We sat on a comfy couch and the acoustics we're fantastic. They have a small stage for an intimate concert experience. They had wine and beer for a donation and some people had pizza delivered. Such an amazing asset within walking distance to the Brew pub.

Experiencia fantástica: Such a great gym. Friendly staff, brand new equipment, a little cafe with Wi-Fi. They have all the equipment you need for powerlifting, with multiple squat racks and deadlifting areas. I've never had to wait for a rack. They have a 15 kg bar also if you need that, tons of bumper plates of various weights. The general vibe is very chill, a variety of folks working out (I.e. it isn't overrun with bros). Lots of cardio equipment, including 2 stair machines.
