Experiencia fantástica: Just went here today to get out of town and workout in a new gym. Not only were the staff beyond amazing and friendly and helpful, the gym itself is awesome !! Very clean, very neat set up and great, smooth cable machines. DEFINITELY worth going to.

Experiencia fantástica: Very nice gym, true to the name with a nice open space for athletics, plenty of plates, barbells, racks, platforms, belts, bands and chains for strength training. I was there only twice during a business trip and the daily pass was simple and straightforward. When I called, the owner/staff was super helpful and was wiling to work with my busy schedule. Recommended!

Experiencia fantástica: Hands down my favorite gym in Ames. I personally prefer the tight knit atmosphere that this gym provides. Everyone at this gym is incredibly friendly, and the staff here do a fantastic job at maintaining a clean and organized environment for all of the gym-goers at the Athletic Club. It has just about everything you need (free weights, cardio equipment, dumbbells, a powerlifting rack, a punching bag, turf for agility and stretching, cable machines and more), and the management are keen on listening to their clientele on additional equipment preferences and ways to improve customer satisfaction. Not to mention the gym community here is one of a kind; even if you don’t personally know anyone at the gym, just about everyone is ready and willing to lend a hand, whether it’s racking weights, providing a spot, or just being there for moral support. The atmosphere here is always upbeat and engaging. Definitely an environment that welcomes both beginners to the fitness world, and those who are more advanced in their training.

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to train! Came here after switching from a commercial gym, and I can definitely say the atmosphere is very different! You're training with like-minded people and common goals of strength, and if that's not enough, you get to watch some very strong individuals lift some ungodly weights like its nothing. Not only that, its 24/7 access so I don't need to worry about not being able to make it into the gym late at at night after work! And the staff are very friendly I'm happy I came to this place Need a place full of strong people? Come to the Athletic club. Want to find new friends and/or that motivation that you need to get out of bed? Come to the Athletic club!

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve never lifted at a gym with this kind of family atmosphere. Everyone seems to know everyone here. Everyone is super supportive and it’s nice to train next to some strong people. The gym is equipped with a great powerlifting setup as well.

We were in town for a short period of time while our kids competed in the 2023 Track & Field Junior Olympic Games in Des Moines and they opened the doors up to offer both strength/agility type training and pre-competition preparation. We thank you so much for the time and training tips!! If we are back in town we will be sure to stop by. :)

Experiencia fantástica: I LOVE this gym. I have not been a regular gym person but this space is one of a kind! It is inviting and open, doesn't feel stuffy like a gym with rows of equipment. You walk into an open turf space for workouts with a large glass garage door that brings in natural night, my FAVORITE part! There are levels that have equipment and machines so it is not crowded. It is a community of support, great people and trainers to make it a great workout. I recommend stopping in and touring the space, you will be amazed.

Experiencia fantástica: LOVE the open space here. Great sense of community. Everyone gets to know everyone very quickly. The equipment is nicely spread out so it never feels crowded. The trainers here do an AMAZING job with their clients. Can't wait for some nice weather to open up the glass garage door and take my workout outside. So many reasons why this is the best place to work at.
