Experiencia fantástica: I have never worked with a personal trainer but Jared is your guy! He has a lot of knowledge with boxing, nutrition, and probably many more things as I have only had one session so far. I am looking very forward to going back he doesn’t push too hard it is perfect. The gym is very wonderful friendly staff & clients! Mike Kuhn was wonderful with the consultation to join too.

Experiencia fantástica: Had my first personal training session (ever) with Jared tonight and I am beyond happy! We had fun but also worked hard and accomplished a lot in just one session. He is easy to follow/learn from and I never once felt judged or uncomfortable with what he had me doing, which is surprising considering we were doing boxing drills that I had never done before. I can’t wait to see the results after more sessions! Highly recommend Jared for any of your fitness/nutrition/wellness needs! He made it very easy to want to return for more sessions!

I love how many classes are available each day. Today personal training with Jared taught me a quick and effective way to eliminate knee pain. I also got some great nutritional advice from him! I'm thinking about kick boxing in the future!

Experiencia fantástica: Best-run gym I’ve ever belonged to. Chris, the owner, will address you by first name, and the staff all treats members like family. They do a quarterly body composition challenge here that you can enroll in and compete against other members. The one last January changed my life—it gave me that extra incentive I needed to make important changes. I’ve lost 70 pounds since, all from diet and exercise modifications. The gym itself is well-equipped, and any maintenance request to Chris is typically handled within a day, sometimes in just a few hours! He even upgraded the decline sit-up bench for me upon request. He also has zero tolerance for bad “bro” behavior and will shut it down. Great guy, love this place, and recommend trainers Adryn and Nellie.

Experiencia positiva: Convenient location with a hard to beat month-to-month membership. Can get pretty crowded during peak times, which is the only negative. Facility also kept pretty clean, and staff is great.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent gym with a lot of machines and free weights and cardio rooms and stretching areas. A full track to walk or run, a pool and sauna. Everything you could want in a health club. It's clean and there are plenty of microfiber cloths for cleaning machines. Complete with free towels and coffee for members. Option to buy protein bars and energy drinks and electrolyte drinks at their little cafe. The only change I'd like to see is some vegan protein bar or drink options. Highly recommended!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going here for about 3 years now and have not ever had a complaint. The staff is always professional and curious. The facility is consistently clean. The equipment is consistently working. There's many activities always happening. The atmosphere is fantastic. Overall I just haven't had a bad workout day here .

Experiencia negativa: The worst gym I have been to in town! The gym is packed to the max I have to always wait around to use the equipment I want. The locker room and sauna is very dirty and overall the whole place could use a good cleaning. Tons of kids just sitting on their phones not doing anything and the staff won't do anything about it. They don't have enough equipment to start so it makes it pretty hard to get a good workout in, let alone how long it takes to find an empty spot to park. I will definitely be switching I tried to give them a chance but can't do it anymore.

Experiencia fantástica: This is the best gym in the area! I've been going there for 4 and a half months and I'll be there forever! The gym and the people that work there are amazing! I work with a trainer as well as being a member and it's so worth it! I couldn't get up and down off the floor without help and then I talked to Jon Bianchi!!! Now my life is completely different 4 months later. I have energy all day long and I don't need help with anything anymore plus I'm lifting weights too! It's been an incredible 4 months and Jon is the best trainer anyone could ask for! Do yourself a favor and check him and Legacy Fitness out!

Overwhelming body odor smells, leaving sweat covered seats, etc. Anyway, friendly staff, good customer service. Experiencia fantástica: I've been going to this gym 3-5x/week for over six months, and I love this place! The staff are always so efficient and kind, and the other gym members are courteous. I've not personally used the pool, but the rest of the gym I've seen/used has always been clean. I've had a wonderful experience with one of their personal trainers, Connor Westergaard, and I highly recommend him for anyone considering a trainer, especially someone who may be new to gyms, fitness, or resistance training in general.

Experiencia positiva: The gym itself is good. Plenty of equipment options and never too crowded. However, the locker room and sauna are always so disgusting it’s unsanitary. Don’t know if the sauna floor has ever been mopped with how black the floors are and the trash left behind.

Experiencia negativa: Everyone knows some gyms are scummy about memberships but these people take the cake—they won't put their rates on their website (the "click here to learn more" button is a mailto: link like you're on a 90s geocities website) and they won't even tell their own staff what their rates are, you have to meet them in office or take a phone call from one of their membership people directly so they can try to manipulate you into buying one on the spot. Deeply unserious and unethical salescringe behavior and I dearly hope that they are out of business soon. EDIT: the saddest part about this owner's response to my review is that I thanked Al for his time and didn't say anything to him when he said he wasn't allowed to know what the membership rates are—which means the owner is either lying about what happened to try to to score sympathy points (likely) or that I am FAR from the only person who takes issue with this company's unethical behavior. Either way, it's obvious that they know they are in the wrong—they just don't care because they know they can make a little extra money by browbeating people into a membership.

Chris, and all of the staff are always friendly and helpful. And they keep the facility clean. I've been a member at other fitness centers, but Legacy has them beat!

I have been in a number of fitness centers and this is the best. I have a great trainer (Braden Classon) who keeps me on track. I highly recommend.

Dont get me started on the amenities(pool, sauna, healthy snack shop, PT, daycare, etc). I dont plan on ever joining another gym. It's also very affordable!!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a patron at legacy for over two years and it is by far one of the best gym in the metro. I lived in ankeny for a year and moved downtown and tried some of the gyms there but I always felt out of place or just like I didn't fit. Now I'm by no means a gym rat, but I typically visit 5-6 times a week. Even being a regular gym attendee, it just felt like people were judging me and stare weird. So I canceled my membership and went back to Legacy (a 30 min drive every night) to still be able to workout there. When I went on military leave, Chris gave me almost 3 months free while I was back visiting in additional to giving my brother and his wife, months free when they were looking for a gym. Any time I had concerns about the service, cleanliness, or equipment, Chris always responded personally and followed up with how they resolved the issue. Legacy is BY FAR one of the best in the metro and they will continue to have my service for years to come.

Great equipment and always clean but most importantly a professional staff with customer service second to none. At Legacy fitness you’re not just a transaction like most gyms. After just a couple visits you’ll quickly see that they treat clients like family and get to know all of their members by name. Nick W, take this ratio and go work out at Planet Fitness with all your bro friends, bro.

Overall, just top-notch customer service. Al is my favorite there. Chris is another favorite, but still doesn’t come close to Al :).

My physicians are so pleased I’m a regular participant in the programs. The whole staff are so warm, courteous and helpful, but Al is the BEST example of professionalism!

The sales people are very nice and understanding. The rates are reasonable and the personal trainers are great.

Experiencia fantástica: Have been a member for a year. I attend a water exercise class daily. Love the instructors and the other class participants. Pool is large and clean and I am very pleased that I can come at will to any class. My friends in other cities are not able to attend water exercise classes because classes are full with waiting lists. All staff have been great to me. I had no problems becoming a member. Met with a staff member who assessed my needs and offered a plan. Joining was the best decision that I have made in a long time.

From the warm greeting in the morning from Al at the front desk to the best childcare ladies, everyone here makes you feel like part of the Legacy family.
