Experiencia negativa: Back again 3 years after my last review to say this, and only this: The smell of the pipes in the women's locker room is getting unbearable. It smells like there is a dead possum in each shower drain. The smell is overwhelming. The smell is starting to encroach beyond the locker room. The showers get cleaned maybe once every couple of months. There is a clump of hair in the third shower stall that hasn't moved in like 3 months. Before the smell began, I used to stick a strand or two of my own dyed red hair to the shower wall to see how long it would be there for-- and I don't think they actually cleaned the wall, I think it just dried up and fell off. I haven't been in two weeks because of the smell. I can't speak for the men's locker room but I imagine the drains smell just as bad if not worse. I signed up at Planet Fitness because of the smell.

Experiencia negativa: The Leg extension machine is the worst machine I have ever used in my life. This charter used to have a great one and instead of replacing it with the same model when it broke, they went out and got the worst machine invented. This machine is always empty at this location because of how bad it is. It puts all the weight on the shin bone and it’s almost impossible to get a good set done on this machine. I don’t actually think the gym as a whole is a 1 star, it’s definitely a 5, I’m just fuming because this machine is that bad.

Experiencia positiva: Good gym could use a little TLC the roof is leaking, and when I went to the locker room there was a paper towel on the floor that had blood all over it, otherwise it's a great gym lots of good equipment

Experiencia negativa: Went in to cancel my membership. They gave me a run around. Long story short I ended up in collections. Be weary of this chain and this gym. Also going to be leaving a poor review on their better business bureau.

Experiencia negativa: The staff here are kind and the equipment is generally decent, though the matrix bicep and tricep machines aren’t very effective. My main frustration, however, is with the way management treated me as a member. I froze my account but was still charged, and I only received a refund because I followed up and asked for it... While I can hardly accept the occasional inconvenience of poor management, what I can’t overlook is the dismissive way I was spoken to over the phone. Being called “buddy” and spoken to as if I didn’t matter was disappointing, especially since I’ve been a loyal member for years. I believe customers should be treated with respect, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously.

Experiencia negativa: This gym is the second worst gym I’ve ever been to, with the first being CFX Beverly. This gym is horrible for serious gym goers and I can’t wait until the UFC gym opens. The equipment here is so bad and is falling apart. For example, the benches are wobbly and are missing handles, which makes it a pain to adjust the angle. The weights are scattered all over the place and look like they have been chewed up because the people in the gym treat the equipment so poorly and drop the weights, even though it isn’t allowed. If you want to use the weights, you have to walk all over the gym to find which ones you are looking for. There’s only two squat racks and one deadlift platform, which is annoying and forces people to wait to use those spaces. There aren’t many dumbbells and the weight doesn’t progress in increments, which makes it harder to progressively overload. Some spots in the gym look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. Finally, people here do not rerack their weights (which isn’t allowed and also not enforced) and have zero gym etiquette. I am frustrated every time I work out here. It’s an awful experience for people that actually care about gym facilities. The owner of this gym clearly doesn’t care about how it feels for people to workout here and it shows by the equipment, the environment, and the cleanliness. Unfortunately, I had to give it one star but I wish I could give it zero. Do not waste your money here with this poor facility.

Experiencia negativa: Gym is always pretty dirty. Heat is unbearable, for a gym it should be colder than usual but this place is always barely colder than outside. It's crazy it can't be cold because this is the smallest gym I've ever been to so it's not difficult to keep cold they're just cheap. The dumbbells are annoyingly big when you get to even just 30lb and all the rubber smells. For plates they have mixed sizes and brands. The handicap stall is missing the coat rack so you have to put your stuff on the floor. Stalls are often dirty despite employees always in the building when I'm here. There's not enough machines or cable attachments across the board with certain very common machines not even in the building. The parking lot is very tight and in poor condition. The incline benches have wiggly seat portions. When I do the lateral raise machine I get drops of water on my butt because there's a leak in the ceiling. There's no proper fountain to fill water bottles and the existing fountains are warm water. I could really go on and on. I'm pretty disappointed in this gym it needs more space and a major face lift.

Experiencia negativa: Don't be polite and hold the door for a fellow gym member after hour or you will be charged fifteen dollars to your account without any type of contact beforehand; completely unprofessional and a long with that the equipment is lacking and it seems the ownership cares very little about the gym goers satisfaction(from someone who's been here since 10 plus years and it was called charter fitness). The workers are friendly overall.

Experiencia positiva: Ive been coming here for about 3 or 4 months now and the amount of sewer gas that's in the air, I'm surprised this place hasn't been shut down. I thought they would eventually have it taken care of but I talked to a few people that have been coming here for years and they say it's always been like that.

They even have 3 days trial to try their gym and all of their equipment. We love this gym so far. Clean equipment and not too crowded so far. For $28 per month you can use multiple locations which is great. Great experience so far, I’ll recommend it to my family and friends

Experiencia positiva: The prices and fee structure for this gym are really frustrating. As a college student who spends the school year out of state, I don't want to be forced to pay $99 in annual club membership fees when I'm only going to be using the gym for 1-3 months in the entire year. Staff are great, equipment is great, app works ok, never had problems with parking or theft. Honestly if it weren't for the pricing this would be an easy 5 stars, but what can you do.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible gym staff has no training they pass out and can’t make it through their training programs the GM is a little boy whole gym is a circus of clowns highly recommend u do yourself a favor and just go workout somewhere else.

Experiencia positiva: Leave people alone, trying to walking in front of me for no reason. Im trying to get a professional workout in. Why are there so many people like this only in Chicago area? No hot water, I mean I understand if you dont want somebody to leave it running at night but 11am on a Friday, are you trying to save a dollar?

Experiencia positiva: Lots of good games but when they close they just shut you off and push you out. Literally they shut all the power off at once while the kids are playing. Would be nice to get a 15 minute warning so you can get the kids prepared to leave.

Experiencia fantástica: It’s not cheap. I’m paying about $45 per month for two people but I do have the option to go to other locations. Equipment is great. Staff seem nice. Parking can be tight because there’s a day care center next door.

Experiencia fantástica: Less groups of teen agers or young adults than the one at ford city. I really enjoyed the two times I’ve been here. Everyone has been very respectful so far.

Experiencia positiva: I absolutely love my gym in Alsip. I have been going 4 times per week since I can remember. I always see so many familiar faces; everyone is very nice. The staff are also kind and the workers in the morning are constantly cleaning up and picking up weights that were not put away from the night before. They also vacuum around the equipment and sell protein drinks and food behind the register. Its very welcoming here. I have been going there for 20 years.

Experiencia negativa: After 9pm, gym usually has no staff and many others sneak in. The same kids that wait at the door for someone to open it for them are the same kids that are always gathering there to talk and hangout and blocking the machines while membership payers are waiting.

Experiencia negativa: The only leg extension machines bolt is loose. Pad where you make contact with your ankles isn’t level because of it. Definitely messing people’s knees up.

Experiencia negativa: Open path never worked. Tried to pause my account and still got charged for 3 months. Then I proceeded to just cancel my member ship and that didn’t work until I went to alsip twice and then finally palos charter.

Experiencia negativa: First time here, and wasn't impressed ! Random weight equipment all over the place, dirty towels left on the floors and minimal sanitary for cleaning equipment before and/or after use of machines. Not the same as the Charger fitness I knew a couple of years ago

Experiencia negativa: The gym is not impressive whatsoever. They have so many locations and it’s hard to understand why when they are all low quality and dirty smelling gyms. Maybe the owners doing money laundering ?

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been to this location a couple of times and the staff is always super friendly and amazing whatever questions you need answered they got you with no hesitation. The bathrooms are always super clean and smell great also the manager is really helpful and kind he definitely deserves a raise aint to many good managers out here like jeno .

Experiencia positiva: Staff is super friendly. During no employee hours it gets pretty dirty but that should be expected from a 24 7 gym. I noticed during employee hours everyone is moving around and busy, cleaning and greeting members. I would recommend the membership where you can go to any gym in your area. Its not that much more expensive on an annual basis and you get to go to a different gym for a different vibe every once in a while.

Experiencia positiva: I love that it's open 24 hours. The cleaning could be a bit better. Some equipment needs to be replaced. Otherwise this place is cool. Great location. Sometimes there are patrol cars in the parking lot at late hours. I love that as well.

Experiencia negativa: By far worst gym in history and I am contemplating a civil suit against them. Smelly disgusting gym with half working massage hydro beds it’s a total waste of 25$. They don’t have anyone working during the nights so pretty much anyone can come in there. Equipment and weights is minimal and sucks too. Save your time and money because the parking lot is tiny and the Kid Play Zone customers overpower the lot. This gym should just close down and expand for the kids instead of a raggedy half effort gym.

Experiencia negativa: This gym has zero parking spots during the week. Good luck finding a parking spot. The 25$ a month is a waste here because of the time you lose trying to find a parking spot and waiting for others to get off the massage chair and stair master. The weights are not calibrated either. The gym smells. The reviews are fake, they close off the biggest and best room now for most. Smelly gym. It’s hard canceling membership. They have a whole process to cancel and synchrony bank is frauds.

Experiencia fantástica: The CFX Alsip gym is really clean and has a really welcoming environment! As a bigger woman sometimes I get anxious going to gyms, but not this one. Everyone is super nice! Highly recommend!

Experiencia negativa: I was a member here last winter and eventually got the cops called on me just because they wanted to take a photo of me nearly every night that I went there. The trainer who obviously takes PEDs is called the cops because of the short temper PEDs cost and the officers unlawfully took my ID even though I committed no crimes. Trespassing only is committed when warned before and if you aren’t a customer. I was a customer at the time and for that clown to call the cops on me just because I didn’t want to take a photo for the 15th time that month was wild to me. I took down all their IDs in case thanks to a system I have because I felt that it was unfair for them to have mine so it’s all good on that end. This gym does not have long, the LA fitness in Alsip shut down and this will be the next one to go and eventually the kids Play will be expanded into it so don’t waste your time at any CFX. They don’t follow COVID policies yet tried to sue their insurance company because it didn’t cover for COVID isn’t it funny how Karma works?

Experiencia positiva: Great selection of equipment and great environment. One friendly suggestion would be to add sanitizer wipes on both end of the gym to clean equipment. I like that there are several spray bottles of sanitizer when you walk in, but there are no paper towel dispensers in gym to wipe down equipment with after spraying.

Experiencia negativa: This is a great gym I go here every day and I bring my friend every day we are both below 18, I was never told about the policy that you have to be above 18 to bring someone and we both were kicked out even tho I have a membership?. He said we both have to leave. I have never had a problem with bringing my friends. If I would have known I couldn’t bring people I would not have signed up. If people can come after staff leaves and sneak in why can’t I bring one of my friends with me ?.

Experiencia positiva: Great neighborhood gym. I've been a member for over 5 years and aside the business next door taking up parking on the weekends, I have no complaints. The staff is always helpful, the gym is clean and I've met some great indivduals. The atmosphere allows you to be comfortable with yourself and the new updates and equipment are a plus. Thank you to management and the entire Cfx team for always providing a great experience.

CFX prices are cheaper then our regular gym and they are open 24hrs… which is what sold us. Alongside of Bailey’s amazing customer service. She was nice and very informative. Really appreciate such great character. Tavia was also at the front desk and super helpful. I love the duo! Very warm and inviting.

Experiencia negativa: Poorly managed and unorganized. Mask mandate means nothing here.... wieghts are never where they should be, and there is obvious signs of no daily cleaning or re racking wieghts by staff or management. Usually only 1 person on staff. Machines are all worn down, broken (many out of commission), and not properly placed on the concrete floor ( they rock back and fourth.... )also picture attached they are missing many grips on machines that need to be replaced... also Google Hours are wrong, they are 24/7 with thier app.

Experiencia fantástica: The charter fitness alsip location is my favorite place to workout. The workers are friendly, the gym is clean, and there’s space to do whatever you have planned for your workout. I also like the new open path feature which makes the gym accessible at all times.

Experiencia fantástica: The Alsip Charter has done an excellent job at keeping the environment clean and safe for working out. Kathy, the front desk manager, always has towels ready and bottles filled for clients to keep the machines clean. She personally is among the weight machines wiping things down and is diligent at ensuring that masks are worn providing confidence for a safe workout.

David at the front desk has helped me accommodate to the scene and has been more than helpful. I look forward to signing up this Friday. AND they have GREAT BODY WASH in the showers which you never see at the Planet Fitness or Commercial run of the mill gyms. Love this place and can't wait to be a part of it.

One staff member in particular is Kathy. I see her every morning and she always has a smile on her face as she makes sure the gym is nice and clean at all times. Keep it up!

I was able to find a great personal trainer David who helped me form a personalized fitness plan and guide me through my workouts. The gym is 24/7 open it is always clean and welcoming. I highly recommend Charter Fitness Alsip.
