Experiencia positiva: MVP has some good facilities, but the expenses add up quickly. Pickleball: There are very few open play times and court reservations, and any sort of group lessons, ladder leagues, etc. are significant in additional price. As a beginner, it is difficult to connect with others at that level unless you pay for classes (most open play has more advanced players. Gym: The gym itself is nice and there are a lot of variety of times for classes. Unfortunately, the switch to Les Mills resulted in less variety (and the loss of many favorite classes including Group Fight!). The community is great is the customer service, but for the price, there are many other options available that have indoor tracks and Les Mills classes. A pickleball-only membership would be a big asset but isn't offered at this time.

Experiencia fantástica: MVP is not just a gym, but a community of people encouraging one another in healthy lifestyles. The group ex classes are challenging and inspiring, the cardio equipment is new and top of the line, and the strength spaces have everything I need. My 11yr old son participates in personal training with Marc Anderson. Marc makes it fun for him! Training has not only helped his physical fitness but has had a positive impact on his mental health as well. We are so grateful and love our MVP community!

Experiencia fantástica: Rockford is / was my goto place for the pool. Many recent renovations. Things are fresh and new. But a likely raise in rates precipitated a cancellation of the health provider OnePass. So we will not be going there henceforth.

Experiencia positiva: I spent a couple of weeks coming here instead of Sportsplex and enjoyed some things and disliked others. The facility is cool with an interesting layout. The pool and splash pad is especially nice in the summer. The staff seem very nice. The problems really come from the strength areas. The barbell setups are terrible, the squat racks and benches are scattered all over the facility. They’re old style racks that haven’t been upgraded in a while. You also lay down to bench and there are insanely bright can lights blinding and burning your eyeballs. How is this not a health concern for a wellness facility?! It’s common sense that people laying down to work out as intended should not have their vision damaged for doing so. My eyes are below average sensitivity. I don’t understand how anyone can do a legitimate workout at this gym that involves exercises where you have to look up. I assume no one actually comes here for legitimate strength training. This is a liability and health risk.

The classes I’ve taken I’ve enjoyed Cons: no morning classes 7-9a (would be great for those that work from home full time) Weight room can be very busy and hard to get a bench. Pickleball courts are hard to reserve in the winter as they fill up quickly.

Experiencia negativa: If you’re looking for a new gym, avoid MVP Crahen. I am deeply appalled and outraged by the treatment my husband experienced at MVP Athletic Club, Crahen. During a recent visit, an employee, in a moment of frustration, referred to him as “you brown people.” This blatant act of racism is beyond unacceptable. When my husband understandably defended himself, the gym chose to suspend him for two weeks instead of addressing the inappropriate comment made by their staff. Even more troubling, the employee who made the comment didn’t report the incident—someone else did—and the general manager has refused to return my calls to address this serious matter. It’s shocking and disappointing that a place promoting health and inclusivity would condone this kind of behavior and ignore a valid complaint of discrimination. I expected better accountability and professionalism from Benny Hardouin and MVP. We both have enjoyed our memberships up to this point and made a lot of friends through the gym.Until this situation is resolved and appropriate action is taken, I will not be recommending this gym to anyone. This is a moment for MVP to take a stand against racism and demonstrate their commitment to fairness and respect. Do better.

Experiencia positiva: Such a huge difference between this fitness center location with realtively clean facility, friendly and caring staff and newer equipment compared to MVP Sportsplex on Burton. Not sure what they do differently to provide a much better experience than the Burton location. Maybe different management on site? State-of-the-art pickle ball facility (Not rating the pool area as I do not attend the Orchard Hills pool).

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a member of Crahen MVP for over 8 years now. It’s a great place for all your fitness needs. Love the different classes, the open turf area. They have a very friendly staff and are always helpful.

Experiencia negativa: I am a parent of one of the wheelchair tennis players . They only will open the wheelchair entrance 5 or 10 minutes ahead of time. Sometimes later because we have to call the office and say hey we are here. They put us way down farthest away from the gate and we have to be out of the gate at 8. Practice is from 6 to 8 . We have been here on these courts for years before mvp bought it from orchards. We were treated with dignity and respect. Now it's like we are just a hassle. Our big Midwest tournament lost sanctioned play. Not sure why but I think the board of directors or Devos them selves need to meet up with Maryfree bed and figure out a solution to why we are being treated so rude. Our coaches are professionals yet are denied the ability to have access to gate lock.

The pool/water slide, concession stand, basketball area, grills/picnic tables and playground give a nostalgic feeling of when there were neighborhood pools where everyone hung out!! My son played in the summer tennis camp and absolutely loved it. He is now taking lessons from Coach Ryan and is also loving their indoor court tennis camps! The fitness areas and equipment are very clean and there are always tons of available equipment to use, as it is nowhere near as chaotic as YMCAs or Planet Fitness. Their spin classes are awesome and they have a ton of other classes to keep exercise exciting!! Highly worth the price for fitness/tennis/pickleball fanatics (or anyone who needs a place to safely entertain their kids in the summer!!!)

Experiencia positiva: During my guest pass visits I enjoyed how this gym was never crowded and I rarely had to wait to use a weight or machine even during peak hours. I'm not sure if this is an effect of the pandemic, but this was throughout 2022. The gym has the usual treadmills, cycles, weights, machines, basketball court, etc. that other gyms have, but it also had a turf area with trx equipment (this was also on the squat racks for use) and plyo boxes and weight sleds which could all be used if a class was not ongoing. Speaking of classes, many are offered that are free to sign up for with membership. Outdoor amenities are included which include a pool and I believe tennis courts. My only complaint is the outrageous membership price which just increased! If you're willing to fork over that much money for a clean, well-equiped gym that offers all the above amenities than MVP may be worth it, but if you're looking for a cheaper option for basic gym equipment than there are far cheaper options in Grand Rapids.

Experiencia negativa: Local organization consists of friendly staff. Corporate is awful to the point of unethical. Prices rise almost monthly, services don’t. Guest passes increase in prices, saved points lose their value, and these changes are almost monthly. For the services offered, corporate is making profoundly unfriendly and bizarre pushes.

Experiencia fantástica: Great gym equipment that exercises all of your muscles! The pool is extremely nice with a great slide! There's great seating so you can sunbathe and then jump in the water! Also I find the pool is always the perfect temperature and I never get cold! My only complaint would be that the shallow ends can be quite dirty and need to be cleaned.

Experiencia fantástica: The Service Desk representatives are welcoming and friendly. The instructors are great and always have a positive attitude. The locker room, at the Crahen location, is kept clean and tidy. The Health Points Program is a good incentive to visit the gym regularly and earn discounts towards membership and the current Connect4 Challenge is a fun way to try new classes outside my regular workout routine.

Experiencia fantástica: As a beginner iny fitness journey I was intimidated to take some of the fitness classes but the instructors were so welcoming and great these classes are the highlight of my day! Everyone on staff makes you feel welcomed and comfortable! You walk in and feel like you belong! I love that the MVP Athletic Club has become my second home!

It's large enough to offer lots of great classes, have tons of equipment, and never feel overly crowded but it's small enough that the staff know members by name and I've developed a community there. The facility is clean, they have amazing staff, trainers and coaches. They offer great classes at various times throughout the day, 7 days a week. They also have some added amenities like the outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, and indoor and outdoor pickleball.

The classes are great, with lots of options throughout the day & week. And the gym floor (treadmills, weights etc.) are rarely over crowded. If it works with your budget, I definitely recommend this gym.
