Experiencia positiva: Decent little gym. I've been coming here for a couple of months now and can say the people who work and work out here are all very nice. I've never felt judged. I'd give it 5 stars, but the locker room is so tiny, and for the price, the gym lacks some amenities of other gyms that cost about the same in the area. Love that it is 24 hours tho.

And my trainer Jon Simon has helped me out tremendously. So happy I started on a special and stayed consistent. Island Gym you are the best❤️

Experiencia positiva: 5 star gym however sadly now dropping Not sure when vaping in the gym started tho. But I'm pretty sure we are here to get healthy and keep our lungs healthy. Heck, you can't even vape in McDonald's Hopefully this place reads this and does a better job and putting a end to this. If you can't train for an hour without vaping you should re consider your health choices. Thanks

Experiencia negativa: sad for the year round members that they let WAY too many people join in the summer ($$$) you can’t even get a workout in because every machine is in use. Weights all off racks and the machines that aren’t in use are out of order. So frustrating

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION. I was down in NJ for a couple months and chose this gym due to the location. I canceled my gym membership over a month in advance and was assured multiple times it would end on September 15th. EVERY SINGLE MONTH I HAVE BEEN CHARGED FOR THE MEMBERSHIP AND I DONT EVEN LIVE IN THE STATE. I have to call and email them to try to get a refund. I have reported the gym and to my CC company as fraud. They are assuming people won't notice the charges. As of this review I'm still dealing with these issues as NO ONE even cares to fix it. Furthermore, the gym equipment is old and out of date. Benches were broken half the time I was there and the cable machines were barely functioning half the time. Don't waste your time and money on this place. You'll get charged every month even after you cancel.

Experiencia negativa: Do not get a membership here. I canceled my membership online back in April and I am still being charged. If you read the reviews, there are multiple people with the same issue. Island gym owes me over $300. Tried to contact someone over the phone and they never pick up and when they did they were extremely rude and didnt have an answer.

Experiencia positiva: The representative behind the desk was very helpful. He kept my purse safely behind the counter as I worked out. The gym should have lockers so that patrons can lock their belongings away. They don't have a teacher for Zumba there, I like to Zumba. I hope the gym improves.

Experiencia negativa: I cancelled a gym membership 5 months ago; the gym was originally operating as Matrxx Fitness. They folded and this company took over. They were charging me DOUBLE what my monthly fee was at Matrxx. I got no notification other than the recurring bill on my credit card with a new name. I called numerous times asking for a manager or owner, and conveniently they are never there or available. I sent the original cancellation email to the third party company, obviously nothing was done. I have disputed numerous charges on my credit card, and they STILL continue to bill me with no resolution. The absolute worst company with the worst employees who are ill-mannered and ill-educated in handling proper business transactions. Will gladly be taking legal action as they continue to do this with not a single repercussion.

Experiencia positiva: That new leg extension is horrible, why get rid of the old one ?? Bring it back please me and my friends loved the old one. This one is just to big and it doesn’t make sense with the rest of the equipment. I know a lot of people feel the same .

Experiencia fantástica: Great gym! It is really the only “real gym” on the islands from Atlantic City to Cape May. I use while at the shore for the summer and buy a pass each month. It is very reasonable and has everything you could need. Keep up the good work!

My home home is in PA but bought a shore house in Ventnor back in January 2022 & joined February 2022 because we needed a gym because at the shore house 3 weeks out of the summer months & 7 to 10 days out of the month for the off season & you can take all the gyms back at my PA. home put them all together still doesn’t even come close to Island Gym and fitness. Very clean & the cleanest gym. & very spacious gym with a ton of Machines & free weights & everything that fits the needs for everyone if toning bodybuilding muscle building & powerlifting & strength training with dumbbells up to 200 pounds. & very nice cardio machines as well & also a very nice & spacious fitness room if your stretching or cardio strength & fitness training. & also offers classes by them awesome personal trainers. & for recovery after a very hard workout a smoothie bar with them very awesome shakes & so much more. & the most important of all every single one of them super friendly staff & every single one that works there.

Experiencia fantástica: I enjoy this gym, especially as a suffering university student. Lots of membership options such as a week, a month (no contract), 3 months (contract), or you can pay monthly (no contract). Gym is open for a lot of hours so if you're someone with a unique workout time then this is a good place. Nice amount of machines for the size of the gym. Has a locker room, tanning bed, and even showers if you're feeling fancy. Employees are nice enough and chill. My main issue so far is too much green ( not a fan of green personally). I would highly recommend this gym thus far, and well worth the money.

Experiencia fantástica: Pretty clean the staff regularly goes around and takes trash out and clean stuff done. Weights are always put away but that’s the fault of lazy people at the gym. If a 110lb girl can put away a 45lb set so that she can use the machine. I think the “macho” 170lb “men” can put them away. And yes I always see the “men” not putting them away. Of course it’s not all of them but seriously stop being lazy. Come on. Again not to the fault of the workers. Though they need to make it clear gym bags shouldn’t be carried around the gym and left in the middle. There are lockers here use them bring a lock.

Experiencia negativa: They will take money out of your account even a whole year after you cancel it and not tell you why or help you fix it, even when you ask them in person. I'm gonna have to dispute charges with my bank now

Experiencia negativa: They won’t give out refunds to anyone who wants to cancel. Jim Rich is not helping out anyone during these troubling times. They are now down to only 1 location not anywhere near 90% of the members. It took them 4 additional months to “re do” the location.

Experiencia negativa: Island Gym owes me a refund for prepaid membership dues. I tried calling the owner Jim Rich several times since Jan. 2021 to get my refund but he ignores my calls. Rich is just dishonest and a unscrupulous business owner. I guess that I will have to get my attorney involved. Do not even think about joining Island Gym, YOU WILL BE SORRY!!

Experiencia negativa: The girl Devon that works in the morning is the most rude unprofessional person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She acts as if it is the worst inconvenience if she ever has to *gasp* make a shake. She has spread rumors between clients and shared their personal business, and as an all around terrible person, I drive 20 extra minutes to northfield to avoid the times she is working.

Experiencia positiva: I’m a local and enjoy going there to work out. This gym used to be open 24hrs. Now it’s only open 5am-1am different times on weekends. I wish I would of received a notice of this before getting there and getting a surprise that it now closes. It was very convenient for people who get off work late and then head to the gym.

Experiencia negativa: I used to go to that gym around 2016 and 2017 I had an issue with sign in card which was stolen and a member changed my picture to that person. I tried to walk in and a asian lady keeps poking her finger near my eyes and threatened to call the police if my friends and I don't leave, because the picture wasn't me even though I tried to give her my ID for verification purposes. My friends and I tried to go into the Northfield gym and employee told me my membership was put on hold. So the next day I was on a call through an employees phone with The "director or owner" of the gym and threatened to cut my membership and put me in jail if I did it again "I was 17yrs at that time" I do NOT recommend this place.

And “no problem for a refund “ why even have to be charged at first place, after my membership should be canceled since July?! ( I was also charged for July, then got refunded and now recharged again!!)
