Experiencia negativa: Showers have only super hot water. So skin is burned. Management said pipes are reversed so nothing can be done. Fix it so people can manage temperature of water in shower. Excuse is BS!

Experiencia negativa: The pool is hands down the worst public pool I’ve been to. My daughter is 10 and the life guards are way over the top. My daughter jumped off the diving board and got yelled at by the life guards for not using a ladder and she never once didn’t use the ladder. Life guards could be heard talking about how they wish a storm would roll in to close it for the day. She Also got yelled at by the life guards for walking too fast. Will never return.

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed today with how the pool is managed. Arrived at 3:30 and there happened to be a passing storm in the distance. So naturally for everyone’s safety they started a 30 minute “pool closed” timer. I left at 5:15 because the children that lifeguard the pool claimed to have kept hearing thunder and continued to restart the 30 minute timer each time they supposedly heard thunder. I understand the need for precaution but me, along with everyone else heard NO thunder. Furthermore I didn’t understand how the lifeguards could’ve heard any thunder, based on the fact they were all huddled up talking loudly, and playing/dribbling a ball together. When any patrons would ask how much longer until the pool would be open, the young lifeguards would be short and disrespectful by saying “I don’t know, I haven’t been inside to check” This is unacceptable. I suggest there needs to be an announcement made over the intercom or a digital clock posted outside for paying patrons to know the status. I also watched the ball that the lifeguards were playing with, almost hit someone while they were walking to the bathroom. Then, that SAME ball was tossed over the pool-fence into the parking lot into on coming traffic. Unacceptable behavior for the TOA employees.

Experiencia positiva: I live about 2-3 miles from here, My kids & I walked here all the time last summer, It was hardly ever packed , maybe once or twice, we had walked in, and every single lounge chair and table and chairs were took, even in the kiddy pool area, as that's where I have to go anyway. The price is just 20$ for a month pass, for myself & 2 kids. I have a 5 year old and 11 year old, and they both love it, the only couple things I would say anything about is wishing they had more of an actual snack bar. They would let the kids were floties to go down the slide, even if they just seen how good the kid can swim .even without floaties in the kiddie area pool. He just wasn't quite ready to take it the all the way off in the big pool area yet. Other then that it is pretty fun place to take them during summer. They have a huge playground, biggest one around. They have big basket it call area, that I take them to play in whenever they make us get out of the pool for about 15 -20 minutes to clean it, and for the lifegrauds to jump and cool off in a second. They have huge locker rooms and showers, and this spin thing that you put your wet clothes/swim suits in and it will spin them almost dry , so you don't have to put any wet clothes in your bag , going home. I will be returning this summer.

Experiencia positiva: Our family has enjoyed this playground since my childhood. It's an exceptional facility, offering diverse play areas and imaginative features such as tunnel-like passages. The design caters to all age groups, and revisiting it with my children evoked fond memories. Amenities include swings, climbing walls, rocking boats, a sandbox,bridges, a small zip line, musical instruments, and intricate wood carvings. Ample seating is provided with picnic tables and benches. Upcoming renovations promise further enhancements and exciting new play experiences.

Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed in their service applied as a couple within town limits and were told if we didn’t file taxes together we were not a couple! If we had been same sex would that still apply? Especially since the rules and guidelines did not define couple!!! Poor service!!

Experiencia fantástica: Some of these negative reviews are hilarious and ridiculous. Y’all don’t know how good you got it. People pay $10,000 - 15,000 a year or more to have access to a pool that nice in Most parts of the USA. Be thankful. It’s a nice facility and it’s cheap by ANY other standards. The staff have never once been rude to me or my family. Quit whining please!

Experiencia negativa: I come to the park at the Coomes Center all the time with my child and dog. Today I came to walk with my dog and I had no idea dogs weren't allowed on the walking trail. I didn't see any signs and as I was walking with my dog, an extremely rude employee started coming towards me yelling, saying that I needed to leave and that dogs couldn't be on the trail. I definitely understood and said that I was sorry and didn't realize that. I immediately got off of the trail and started walking through the grass. She then yelled again and told me "Get him away NOW!" I feel that her hostile behavior was incredibly uncalled for. She then stood and watched me the entire time I was walking away from the park. Again, I apologized for not knowing dogs weren't allowed and I left as soon as I was told. However, the extremely rude and hostile behavior by the employee was uncalled for. I now feel unwelcome to ever return to the Coomes Center.

Experiencia negativa: Would not recommend this pool to anyone . Be sure where your there to not say ONE cuss word .. cause if you do they will show up 4 cops deep . I literally said a few bad words ...TO MY FAMILY and a lifeguard over heard. Next thing I know I'm confronted by 4 cops like I'm some criminal. Much better pools to go go! Women can walk around half naked ...thats fine . But I can't say a few cuss to my own family without getting kicked out by the police. Don't bother. Also children can not wear floaties in the deep end only in the shallow end. Which started all of this fuss in the first place.

Experiencia negativa: My wife and I are current members who live just 3 miles from the center. We WILL NOT be members next year as the cost would be nearly $1,100 for the two of us. OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS!!!

Experiencia negativa: I would NEVER recommend this pool. The pool is so dirty with green slime that feet will get slippery. There were kids that were stealing my kids toys. At the end when we were leaving we went to the changing room when a NAKED woman was showing her privates and my kids were traumatized by that. When we told the lifeguard he wasn’t sure if it was allowed, how can he not know? And then there was a lady that was not even part on the conversation that started yelling at me and said that’s what lockers are for and the lady was very rude.Please don’t come here it is a bad pool try to avoid it if you want to have a safe and clean place for your kids.

Experiencia negativa: I have been coming here for years when I visit town, until this visit it was 5 stars gym even though it is small. But the make lifeguard and a women named Kitty (?) in the pool area makes it uncomfortable now. Next time in town, I will find a new gym as I never want to see him or Kitty again! I do love the new equipment!

Experiencia negativa: Playground is fine, but anything else you want to do for small children don’t bring them here! Outdoor pool has one slide not meant for the little people. Indoor pool is for subpar swim lessons and that’s it. Staff is rude (both the younger employees and the more seasoned ones) and some will even ignore you while you’re standing right there trying to ask them questions about the facility. Will not be returning.

Experiencia negativa: My daughter is 18 months and we were told by a lifeguard that we could not accompany her into the kitty pool, that she had to go in by herself and we could sit on the side of the kitty pool and watch her. She’s 1 1/2 years old….she needs assistance. All to later on be told by 2 different individual life guards that we could absolutely assist her in the kitty pool that it was no problem at all. After we had to make her stay on the side of the pool while she cried because she wanted to walk in the actual middle of the pool and play with the other children. NOT TO MENTION after the 3pm break the kitty pool was busier than it had been all day, and there was no life guard at their post. One life guard had to LITERALLY RUN across from the other side of the pool where the slides are to blow the whistle at a child that was in the kitty pool. Unreal to me.

Experiencia negativa: Based on the age group who utilize this facility during the day, the young staff are inconsiderate, rude and have no respect for boundaries. Daytime indoor pool hours are so limited, but as the young employee so bluntly stated "that's what you get, it is a "rec center"! These are the only hours my age group can use the indoor pool, FRIDAYS, FORGET IT, and whatever you do... DO NOT COMPLAIN! If not for the "additional fee" Yoga classes, I would rate this center as a "DO NOT GO". I had an off duty worker think it was appropriate (after speaking down to me) to laugh at me while grabbing my arm! DO NOT TOUCH! EVER!

We drove over an hour to get there and left after swimming for maybe an hour because they would yell and scream and have ugly attitudes towards the kids. They need new lifegaurds! Don't waste your time or money, that's why no one hardly goes anymore. Lifegaurds scream at you and your kids the whole time, waste of money for sure. Should be a fun but they sucked all the fun out of that center. Only a matter of time before that place goes under.

Experiencia fantástica: Can't say much about what's inside the building or the pool, but the 9 hole disc golf course is short, sweet, and great for beginners and pros alike. Some of the holes can be very deceiving and harder than you think. Great playground for the kids also.

Experiencia fantástica: This park is awesome! I love how the playground is shaded and there is a wooden and plastic playground. It's generally really quiet never packed with kids or crowded. It's really windy though so prepare to bring an extra jacket or scarf because it feels colder with the strong winds and the shade!!!

I find it clean, well maintained, easily accessible, the staff very helpful and the classes offered are for any level of exercise. The skate park however can be revamped in my opinion, with different levels of ramps and possibly some new paint.

Experiencia positiva: Only rating it a 3 star review based on the Playground and covered picnic table area. The playground needs attention in certain areas as in there are a few boards that could be changed, would be a shame for a child to get hurt and some parents get all bent out of shape and slap a lawsuit on this place over something that could've easily been maintained by a maintenance groundkeeper if they have one. There are sue happy people in this world. As for the covered area with the picnic tables, the picnic table area could use some new picnic tables. The ones I saw were deteriorated and missing seat boards. Again I am rating this center based on only the areas that were open due to the Covid-19 mandates for social distancing. I was told that the Rec Center in general was a fantastic place and it did look like a big facility, I just wasn't able to access the Rec Center as a whole. The parking lot was extremely clean and the tennis courts were operational with some folks playing on them. We came in to visit family from Louisiana and everyone brought the kids there to play. It had been 21 years since I've last seen this place. The playground seems to have grown substantially. Hopefully next time we are in it will be open and I can make an edit.

Experiencia negativa: Honestly don't want to even leave 1 star but that's the least option. I've never been so upset and mad. We literally just walked in and paid $17. We put our stuff in a chair walked over to the pool and started to walk down the ladder and they blew the whistle and made everyone get out. No refund or opportunity to come back another day. To be clear the weather was perfect when we paid and the forecast didn't show rain till 6. Don't waste your money. I can understand no refund but you could at least give a raincheck. First time ever having to leave a bad review for anywhere.

Great playground for kids and they also have a tennis court and skate park available as well! Love having little picnics in the grass or birthday parties under the shelter with the tables next to the playground. Friendly staff, affordable membership, and awesome exercise class opportunities

Experiencia positiva: My granddaughter was playing volleyball. The gym is small and they have very little seating...the employees were not very friendly either...but for a place to play volleyball it works.

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to work out on machines, take part in classes, or join in team sport. They also have a weight room and a room with stationary bikes. This is the location of the city pool. Inside there is a lap pool. There is a nice playground for children and walking trails.

Experiencia fantástica: I’m a local, so I use the Rec Center a lot! The outdoor trail around the property is great for a run, and the indoor pool is awesome in the winter. Pickle ball courts and outdoor volleyball are great amenities too. If you have little kids, the playground is the best in the area, and there’s a skate park for the big kids. If you’re a family visiting, this is a great spot for some activity between attractions!

Experiencia negativa: Disappointed, I took my niece and nephew their to go swimming today. Thought it would be fun.. I let my nephew go and have fun and swim in the big pool, my son and niece was going to play In The kiddie pool.. I'm 34 weeks pregnant i can't hold both in the big pool.. my son is 14 months old and wasn't able to stand or play by him self in the kid pool. Not a lot of kids was there. I sit down with him, trying to get him use to the water and let him play for a while.. I get told, I wasn't allowed to sit in the pool! I wasn't bothering anyone. It wasn't busy!! I could understand if they was busy or if my child could play In the water with out my help. We basically just had to get out. It was way to hot to just sit with my feet in the water. So yeah I'm disappointed that I spent $5 on just sitting in the hot sun..

Experiencia negativa: This place is a joke. My husband was harassed by a lifeguard, stood up for himself, and then was “banned for the day.” The supervisor told him that he was allowed to return the next day. We returned later that summer and was then informed that he was “banned for the season.” When I approached the front desk for a refund, they accused us of lying and stealing money from the center. We decided to just leave but did obtain our refund. A year later and a new pool season begins, my husband goes to play basketball. He plays for four hours with no issue. We go back a week or so later to only then be informed that he is NOW “banned indefinitely” and that if he doesn’t leave the premises, the cops will be called. We were never informed of this ban (they claimed they sent a letter in the mail). I received my refund and will not be returning in fear that next time I go, I’ll be the one that is now “banned indefinitely” and have the police called on me.

Experiencia positiva: Been there many times. Use to work out on the machines there. Walk on the indoor track. Go swimming in the indoor pool, and take my daughter there to play. They use to have a good forth of July celebration there. With plenty of vendors and live bands. And when it got dark, they had a great fire works display. It is a good place for the whole family.
