Gripstone Climbing & Cafe

Fantastic experience: What a cute bouldering gym! It's not massive or anything, but the vibe is amazing. The head routesetter is well known, the walls are beautifully decorated, and unlike most American bouldering gyms there's quite a nice cafe! Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Positive experience: Just had our daughters 5th birthday there and the kids had a blast. The staff were great at handling the harnesses and belaying. One critique is maybe having a more efficient way of handling the safety video and overview. For example, we said we’d have ten climbers, which is about twenty people including parents. The staff waits until everyone arrives to do the safety video, which for us was about 30 minutes of waiting around for everyone to trickle in. Not sure how to improve upon this, but something to think about. This isn’t a problem if everyone you invite shows up at the exact same time, which never happens for us. Love the venue, keep up the great work.
