American Mixed Martial Arts: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Wonderful friendly staff and great place to train. Whether you are just getting back in shape or interested in competing this gym has you covered. Highly recommend it. I've trained in several boxing gyms and MMA gyms. This was my first time learning kickboxing. I wish I found this place sooner.
Fantastic experience: My daughter loves it and always has fun here
Fantastic experience: A great place to learn and grow. When I originally started, I weighed 215 pounds (for reference I'm 5'8) today I weigh 164. Each of the instructors pushes you to be your best self. Austin, Marry, Marshall, and Professor Bybee are all excellent teachers and even better people. They are an amazing family orientated team. I can't recommend them enough, and I can say without a doubt I will be a member for as long as they let me show up!
Fantastic experience: The American Mixed Martial Arts team and staff have personally help me achieve my weight loss goal along with pushing myself to go farther....awesome staff and instructors here and so glad I found this place to train and met new awesome people! You definitely need to give AMMA a try!
Positive experience: Simply put, very nice team, but too much money for too little instruction. They made an exception to allow me to sign my daughter up for a minimum of 2 months instead of 3. This meant the weekly rate was a little higher at $39 than it usually would be. There is also a sign up fee of $140 or so. None of that would be an issue if there was more instruction dedicated to the students. There was 30+ (probably closer to 40) kids per class and only 3 instructors. Watching the classes I could see bad form by most kids. Poor technique combined with over confidence is a terrible combination in self defense. If you want your child to learn how to truly defend themselves, find a place with smaller classes where they can develop good habits in regards to technique. Again, the team is made up of very nice people. I just feel that they are spread too thin to teach in a manner that is beneficial to the students.
