Crunch Fitness - Meridian

Positive experience: UPDATE No. 2: I did receive a refund the COO of Harman Fitness was very helpful. I really appreciated his help. UPDATE: I was able to exchange messages with the COO of Harman Fitness (you have to love LinkedIn). He said he would ensure I received my refund. My original review was one star. But the COO made me feel like the way I was initially treated is not the norm, so I am raising my review to three stars. --- I had a bad billing experience which soured my opinion of Crunch and Harman Fitness. We had a family member move out of state. When he did they suspended his account. He is not moving back, and they charged us. No reminder. Just a charge. When I told them this family member would not be coming back and asked for a refund. They refused. The manager, said I would have had to give notice and that an email exchange from six months ago was all the reminder I needed. The email exchange in question followed two attempts to cancel the membership. The first attempt was a in person visit, at which time we were told we could not cancel. The second was a phone call. Again, we were under contract and could not cancel. Finally, we acquiesced to an account suspension. And frankly forgot about it. Crunch followed the letter of its policy, and the manager was proud to tell me how important following policy was. But in this case no one is going to use the service, and they are just taking my $20 bucks to be strict. The email exchange and phone conversation with the manager ruined my day. In the end, the manager followed his company's policies, but it sure felt like I was being mistreated. I want the companies I do business with to be flexible, considerate, and compassionate.

Positive experience: So far so good! Staff is very friendly and this gym is not intimidating for beginners. They have dumbbells that go up to 150 which is pretty cool, some of the machines are out dated and not super sturdy. I am a little turned off by the fact the pool is not available to members most afternoon and early evenings due to the gym ‘renting out’ the pool to outside organizations. It would have been nice to know that when getting the tour and signing up. Overall a good gym for getting fit I believe they offer classes and training but I have not used those services yet. Tanning beds are a nice touch and are not much more money to have included in your membership.

Fantastic experience: Love Crunch in Meridian! Has everything I need and more! Staff us helpful and it's big enough if you go when it's not crowded, you will not be waiting for equipment! Has a poo,l sauna, tanning and massage all for a very good price point. Have been going for about 4 months!!!????????

Fantastic experience: I recently signed up at Crunch Meridian. I was only in town for a few months so I made sure to sign up for a month to month agreement. The cancellation process was easy and painless. All you have to do is email a manager. Having to pay the annual fee after 60 days did suck but I get it. Some of these reviews are wild. The guy who signed me up, Trevor, was thorough with everything and they even send you the contract through email with a five day buyers remorse clause in case something is wrong. My recommendation would be ignore all the people who can't properly handle their finances or read and understand a legal document and sign up at this gym. 10 day cancellation notice isn't hard to understand. I will say they should probably move around some of the equipment. The free weights into the big room and some of the circuits into the free weights area. That would create a lot more space. But other than that, the gym was nice, staff was friendly, and it was all in all a good experience. If I'm ever back in town I will sign up again.
