Longmont Climbing Collective: Opinions

Fantastic experience: So much FUN! ♀️
Fantastic experience: Great gym, lots of fun.
Fantastic experience: Challenging and fun, routes difficulty is clearly labeled. All guests were respectful of each other. I really enjoyed my visit here, nice upstairs hangout/remote work area, beer on tap near the entrance, I will definitely be back
Fantastic experience: Folks here are kind and respectful. I’ve always felt welcomed by members and staff! I love attending their larger events and cheering on the climbers! I took an intro to bouldering class in spring 2021 and my instructors were great for building my skills and understanding of bouldering.
Fantastic experience: Best climbing gym in Colorado! Not quite as expansive as some of the large corporate gyms like earth treks, but they make up for it with great route setting(and great holds), an AMAZING training area, a kilter board, tension board, symmetrical system wall, huge spray wall, campus boards, and great hang-board selection. Really great free weight area as well. If I had one critic it would be the crash pads, they're a little stiff and a little awkward to fall on from the top of the walls. Overall a wonderful addition to longmont and the overall climbing community of the Boulder area.
Fantastic experience: Great facility with plenty of walls and space for everyone,g reat staff, and clean bathrooms! Love the work out space as well
Fantastic experience: I’ve been to a lot of climbing gyms and the customer service here is great. The climbing community tends to attract great people and this remains true for the Longmont Climbing Collective. Any time I’ve needed help they have been quick to reply and willing.
Fantastic experience: Staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Jake explained how to fall properly and showed us our way around. He also gave me his friend pass for the day and I couldn’t be more thankful. I’m looking forward to the next time. Dear LCC, get him another buddy pass because I’ll for sure be back!
Fantastic experience: End of 2022 update after going here for a few years -- The old facility is still great, the people that climb here by and large are friendly and chill. The staff seems to be in their own little world though. Before just about every staff person or coach or instructor would at least say hi or acknowledge patrons. I get on a busy day, you're not going to say hi to everyone, but some of the staff just seem to have their own clique that we're *obviously* not a part of. I still really dig the place and am looking forward to the new facility. This facility is great. Multiple boulders, walls, and training boards as well as fitness equipment and weights. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I took my kids for Father's day and we got to climb free! My kids had a great time, we enjoyed watching people solve problems and letting the kids climb the over-top boulder.
Fantastic experience: Great climbing. Great space for a beginner to learn and improve
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym! It’s very beginner friendly and the staff is very kind and helpful! I’ve been to a few gyms in the area and LCC is my favorite by far!
Fantastic experience: Such a nice climbing gym! Lots of training board options and good setting. Chill vibes.
Fantastic experience: I was in boulder and was only 20 mins away. This is my new favorite boulder gym! They have the best grading system with a very wide range of climbs. They go V0-V1, V1-V2 ,etc which is rare to see, but so amazing! They have tension and kilter boards, which are sick! Staff was great, facilities were great! Shoutout to Jackson and the team! Check out LCC if you're in the Boulder/Longmont area.
Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic climbing gym. You can be a low-key climber (like me) and be right at home here. Everyone is down to earth and friendly. There is plenty of variety in the climbing routes.
Fantastic experience: LCC is awesome great staff and always have good jams on! I like the hours and cant wait for the new location!
Fantastic experience: Love this place! Our child has taken multiple camps and classes, and even joined the LCC climbing team. We come when we can and plan to come to more hang outs now that we know Grossenbart produces the beer. Looking forward to it!
Fantastic experience: We love LCC! We’ve been climbing here for about a year now, and the gym has such good vibes and friendly staff. Highly recommend for everyone interested in climbing (:
Fantastic experience: Very nice gym with interesting routes. The gym part of the gym (i.e. weights) isn't super impressive but it's fine. The staff are very friendly and the gym feels clean
Fantastic experience: Even though this gym may be on the smaller to mid range size, it still offers a wide variety of routes for each grade. To ensure you don’t become bored, they regularly set new routes that are always new and interesting.
Fantastic experience: Fun place, they have a small gym too which is prettt nice
Fantastic experience: Great bouldering gym with modern and fun sets. Good community.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic climbing experience and super sweet owners!
Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms I've been to in 12 years of climbing! Beautiful, clean, all the climbing toys you can imagine, arcade, yoga, great weight training area, beer on tap...this place rocks!
Fantastic experience: LCC is great! Great community and new routes on a weekly basis. Routes are also super variable and unique
Fantastic experience: The Longmont Climbing Collective is such a positive place to work out and have fun climbing. I started this fall, and I struggle with seasonal depression in the winter and going to the LCC really helped me get out of the house and move my body. Climbing challenges me and the LCC definitely has routes for everybody and their staff is so friendly too. I love it and can’t wait to see their new location in 2023!
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love LCC! A welcoming atmosphere (not always easy to find at a Boulder county climbing gym) with great bouldering routes and a fully stocked gym. The staff is friendly and helpful and there are options for all levels of climber including newbs like myself. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Took my nephew here for the first day of summer break. He had a great time and had never climbed before. Staff was super informative and helpful.
Fantastic experience: The most fun you can have working out. The facility is clean and well maintained. The sets change frequently enough to keep things fresh, but sets stick around long enough to be a project. This location helped me lose over 100 pounds.
Fantastic experience: Great bouldering, a few routes that tricked me into thinking I could campus them but then had a technical crux, so fun. Vibe feels a lot like Spot Denver. In addition to bouldering they have exercise equipment, a rogue rack, and some nice training boards as well.
Fantastic experience: Positive: Professionalism , Quality , Value Love this place. 10/10. Just started climbing two weeks ago. Great staff great routes and great climbers who are willing to help as well!
Fantastic experience: Been going here for a few months now. Really good vibe and routes for climbers of all skill levels. Never overly crowded, either!
Fantastic experience: Super excited to have found this place: excellent sets that they change frequently, great yoga and fitness classes, great little gym area and they even have a little loft area with games to hang out on. Haven’t tried their beer yet but as soon as summer hits I will for sure. Would be great if they served coffee and had more events
Fantastic experience: Great bouldering. Friendly staff and well-designed routes. The yoga is pretty good, too, though you'll have to book early for some of the classes.
Fantastic experience: Been climbing here 4 months now. Have climbed at many gyms across the nation. Nice people here and the space has a lot of potential. However, the routes are not rotated frequently enough, and are lacking in imagination. Moreover, when the routes are changed, the setters quite often just adjust/spin/replace a couple holds on the route and call it “new.” Lastly, the routes are graded very soft—on average, about 2 grades higher than they should be. A bit of mental re-calibration fixes that. I climb at a pretty consistent v7 level, and can climb v-9’s here with a bit of projecting. Other than that, this gym is fantastic.
Fantastic experience: Positive: Professionalism , Quality , Value I'm a beginner to climbing but the staff and atmosphere is very welcoming and I've never felt judged or looked down on. And most importantly the routes are fun and varied and there's something for every skill level.
Fantastic experience: I have been coming here at least once a week for about a year. So far I have really enjoyed this gym. They change the problems at a nice tempo, leaving them up long enough to try one for a few session but changing often enough to not run out of new problems. The layout is also quite nice here and the staff has always been friendly. Pretty sure I'll stay a long term customer at this rate.
Fantastic experience: Positive: Communication , Professionalism , Quality , Value Gym. Rock. Shoe. Weight. These are all words that describe LCC. Fantastic employees and an amazing value. Great place to go to meet new people and push yourself to become the best you can be!! LCC rocks. 10/10. A+.
Fantastic experience: The LCC is an awesome place. Great for families and work out enthusiasts alike. The gym is always super clean and very well put together. There's always a great vibe rushing through, it's very motivating. The classes are awesome. Super thoughtful. Combining a class with a couple hour climbing session is a great activity and actually, a very good value. Glad they're here!!
Fantastic experience: Super fun bouldering problems with great variety and complexity. Gym is super clean, staff is friendly, and love the cheering from the other climbers. So there you have it: kudos to the routesetters, staff, and fellow climbers for creating such an awesome community space!
Fantastic experience: We just had a birthday party here and it was awesome. We did a package with the Warrior Playground which is next door and Megan was our coach for both sides. Shana was extremely helpful when setting things up and Megan was super helpful and friendly to our kids. It was a family birthday with 5 kids and 6 adults and everyone had a great time participating. We will be going back for some classes and can’t wait!!!
Fantastic experience: Highly recommended! Friendly staff, great route setting, warm atmosphere, and the receptiveness of a locally owned gym. Only recommendation would be to have a more foot chips for smaller climbers. Can’t wait to come back!
Fantastic experience: One of my favorite Longmont spots! A great facility with an even better staff! I love having the option to check out yoga classes, climb, or lift. They have a nice shop with some great gear and the regulars are very friendly as well
Fantastic experience: Great bouldering gym with a relaxed vibe. Welcoming to climbers of all skill levels! even the serious climbers are happy to give pointers and beta. There's usually a good variety of problems (technical slab to overhung musle-ups). Good range of difficulties as well. I love all the fitness and yoga options included with the membership. All the classes I've taken have been excellent and the teachers are super friendly. The adult bouldering league is a great touch - good way to improve rapidly and make friends! So glad I have an awesome local option! Much better than driving to Boulder or Louisville for overcrowded gyms.
Fantastic experience: This is the first gym I've ever enjoyed going to! I freaking love this place!! Friendly staff, easy check-in for members, quick turn-around of problems (routes), clean facilities, & great classes. It's very helpful that the holds are all grouped into one color per problem, instead of different colors tagged with hard-to-find, peeling colored pieces of tape (which I've seen at most other climbing gyms).
Fantastic experience: I'm a member at the climbing collective and have been for about 6 months now. I LOVE this gym. It's not like the Boulder-area gyms where everyone climbing is elite or high level; there are a lot of newcomers and the atmosphere is really friendly toward everyone. The yoga is a great addition to the membership, and the strength training classes are awesome too, they're functional movement based and definitely challenging. Also, for more serious climbers, the setting is awesome. I feel like some gyms set gym-style, like they don't put challenging moves toward the top of problems and they repeat certain movements that are really different from outdoor problems, like they'll put in multiple crosses as "flair" but not include high steps or challenging footwork in problems. LCC's setting is different; it's creative and integrates a lot of different movements, good footwork, and is a lot more similar to outdoor movements than most gyms. Also, they don't rate problems soft here, lol. Overall, this is an awesome gym and if you're thinking of being a member or coming for the day, you'll have a good time.
Fantastic experience: I've been a member here for over a year now and I love this gym. It's a good size, with plenty of problems to keep you challenged. I've taken multiple classes and workshops at LCC and they really improved my climbing technique. I also tried a couple yoga classes and though it wasn't really my thing I love that they're offered. In addition to the climbing walls there's also a modest but well stocked general workout area that's great if you want to do some cross training and then reward yourself with climbing.
Fantastic experience: This was a really fun bouldering experience. We met one of the owners and she was super friendly and patient. The building was clean and there were plenty of routes to choose from for any climbing level. The building is a little bit tricky to get to with how the connecting roads are laid out. We'll be back again for sure.
Fantastic experience: Best bouldering gym in the Front Range; the setting is creative and challenging, and more realistic to outdoor problems. Everyone is super friendly, and the atmosphere is very inviting. There is a plethora of classes, the lounge space is perfect for doing some work in between climbing, and the personal training/gym area is top-notch.
Fantastic experience: The facility is super nice and clean! There are creatively shaped bouldering walls with great problems, all the hydraulic walls you could ever need, and a great space for pumping iron and doing your physio. They even have free yoga and exercise classes for members! Additionally the staff have been super friendly. All in all, LLC is a fun place to climb that I would highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: This gym is beautiful! The boulder problems are some of the best I’ve ever gotten on. They are so interesting and fun and really mimic outside more than any gym I’ve been too. In less than a month this gym has already made me a better climber. Fortunately, that’s not all! They offer awesome free yoga and classes, that are targeted and thoughtful. Glad to see they have top of the line personal training and climbing training as well. This gym is top of the line, very excited to be apart of the community there.
Fantastic experience: Awesome place to come work out! The route setting is very good at incorporating a variety different climbing styles. It keeps me trying new things and pushes me to get better. There is a nice lifting/gym area in the back that has more than I need. Also the staff is very friendly and helpful! The setters are more than happy to give tips when they are around!
Fantastic experience: First time climbers the courses were great and it was easy for my kids to climb to the top. The staff was helpful and the facility was super clean.
Fantastic experience: The atmosphere is casual and friendly, and the boulder problems are changed frequently so they never get stale. The staff is careful to provide a range of problems so that Everyone, from new climbers to experts, have something to test themselves on. But the best part? Free yoga classes. They are amazing and a great way to end a workout. The gym is also incredibly kid friendly, with extra yoga classes that you can sign up for the little ones. I'm glad Longmont got such a great climbing facility.
