Benjamin Harrison YMCA

Fantastic experience: The Fort Benjamin YMCA is an excellent facility. I have found the staff to be friendly, engaging and helpful. The facility itself is clean and well maintained, as is the exercise equipment. The pools are consistently clean and the water is always clear. One is warmer and one is cooler for the avid swimmers. During the summer months a third outdoor pool is available. The lifeguarding staff is competent and attentive to the activities in the pools. Members are from all age groups and cultures. There are quite a few retired members as well as military personnel from Fort Ben. I have met college students, retirees, doctors, lawyers, and people from all walks of life at this facility. I am shocked and dismayed that one reviewer (Vincent) described the facility as "ghetto". Perhaps Vincent considers himself to be too good for the rest of us. I, for one, appreciate the YMCA staff and enjoy the diversity and friendliness of my fellow YMCA members. I consider myself fortunate to have such an exceptional facility close to my home.

Fantastic experience: I love how early the indoor pool opens. My toddler and I are usually early birds (5am), so having time to swim so early has been great. The play & learn area is a phenomenal resource for parents. I'm a lone parent and rarely get time to myself. The 2hrs that they offer gives me a chance to restore myself while my toddler gets to play with other kids in a safe environment with next to no screen time. ✨️Bonus✨️Everyone has been tremendously nice and helpful and the site is remarkably clean. I know I made a wise choice when I signed us up for the Benjamin Harrison YMCA.

Fantastic experience: Great outside pool for families. Slides for toddlers and area of pool they can play in and slide and sprinklers in pool for big kids. Great kid daycare has indoor playset similar to what chuck e cheese had. Also has computers and tv there so your child will enjoy themselves while you workout. But some of their staff is unfriendly.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the ft ben Y. The atmosphere and people are amazing. I started going a year ago in March as a complete beginner and have always felt very comfortable working out there. I joined SGT and started doing the body pump classes this year and the experience has been great. I also have 4 children and I love all the people at play and learn. They do so much more than just babysit. My kids love going. I am moving away at the end of the month and going to the Y will be the thing I miss most.

Fantastic experience: I want to see the gym three days ago and I still feel the burn I love it at Fort Benjamin Harris that's the YMCA I grew up on I love to space and I like how it was built everything is proportion if you ask me correctly and just right I had to get on them about their hygiene though how to clean the bathroom and stuff like that but other than that they good

Fantastic experience: I always have a great time I just can't seem to stay more than an hour due to my schedule. You got to hate that. The people there are very friendly and always willing to help. I've been coming there since 1995.

Fantastic experience: Great environment. The staff is friendly and helpful. Amber is a lovely person who coaches girls basketball, and she a director who can help with almost anything. Coach Greg is the boy's team coach and good with my son and the rest of the guys on the team.

Fantastic experience: Staff is always there to assist and cheer you up with a greeting when you enter. The adult women's locker room is always clean and well maintained. The family girls room is chaotic however. All the gym equipment is fully functional and clean. The recreational pool is always kept warm and clean which is great for people doing aqua rehabilitation or physical therapy. Lap pool is significantly cooler and fluctuates in temperature but is definitely fine for someone swimming laps. Multiple lifeguards are on duty at a time and they are always very attentive. They offer daycare, older children a place to be watched and a new preschool. In the summer the outdoor pool is kept clean and the slide is usually running. They have adult only times in the outdoor pool as well so the adults can get some swim time in. Perfect place to go to workout or just swim if you live in the area.

Fantastic experience: Really nice YMCA. Clean, lots to do, and if you are an AARP health insurance member they offer a free membership. They have both an indoor and outdoor pool which is great for the summer​.

Fantastic experience: I use Fort Been YMCA for their pools! As someone who dapples in triathalons, their facilities cannot be beat. Just know if there is lightening the pool is temporarily closed for safety reasons (water is too close to the glass windows).
