FIT Iowa City

Fantastic experience: This gym is now called Top Shape Gym. They locker rooms equipped with showers, a lounge area, and infrared as well as traditional saunas. Yoga, spin classes, Zumba, and tons of fun and challenging Les Mills classes if you're into group fitness. The instructors work hard to deliver safe and effective workouts and the participants are friendly. They also sell pre- and post-workout beverages and snacks. Come in and meet your neighbors while making fitness gains!!

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym! Just by walking in you will notice the attention to detail. The gym is clean, staff is helpful and the work out equipment high quality. I really enjoy golfing in the simulators. The simulators are new, top notch and are better than most in the area. If you're looking for a gym that holds it's self to a higher standard than the rest, visit FIT!

Fantastic experience: This is my regular gym, and I go here about 4 times a week. The other people who go here are very friendly and so is the staff. I haven't tried any of the classes because I lift weights here instead, but it seems like quite a few people attend. They have a good amount of equipment. The only thing I would change is to have less duplicates of the same machine and more types of machines. For example, I think a hack squat or hip abduction machine would be great here. Otherwise I really like it.

Fantastic experience: Adam and his staff have been absolutely amazing! Between the state-of-the-art equipment and golf simulator, the convenient classes, and the fantastic women that work in the child care area, I could go on and on about FIT Iowa City!! If you live in the area or are just passing through, it is definitely worth the visit!!!

Fantastic experience: I'm very pleased with the changes FIT has made to this facility. The equipment provides a great variety of workout experiences. I personally work with trainer Adam and can't be happier.

Fantastic experience: I like that the owners/manager are frequently on site and available for conversation; they take the time to connect with members. I also like that the group exercise coordinator is positive, resourceful and committed to increasing and improving the class offerings; she is also an excellent teacher herself. There is a wide age range of members, which makes for a comfortable, interesting social environment.

Fantastic experience: I went to my very first Body Pump class yesterday. The members of the class were so helpful and welcoming! The instructor Jamie Poch was awesome! I can't wait to try some other classes.

Fantastic experience: nice gym...they offer many classes such as Pilates, zumba...besides the treadmills and other stuff...I tried a zumba class and it was nice I had fun!!!

Fantastic experience: Fit has provided a positive experience with top notch instructors, personal trainers, and brand new equipment. It has taken on a totally new look with the remodel of flooring, walls, and all new weight machines. If I was a golfer- I would be excited about the golf-simulators that will provide indoor opportunities all year long to work on or maintain a golf swing etc. I'm excited for the new training sessions on how to use all the equipment and feel quite blessed to have Les Mills instructors providing enthusiasm and quality instruction. If you haven't checked it out- now would be a great time! I'm pumped!

Fantastic experience: As one who primarily uses cardio equipment, I am excited by the new Octane XT cross-trainers as well as the new Arc trainers and zero-gravity running machines at Fit. These are all state-of-the-art equipment and better than I've found at the other big-name Iowa City athletic clubs (Core, North Dodge). The men's locker rooms and showers are much better maintained than they were under the previous owners, the workout areas have been freshly updated with new paint and flooring, and the club staff are uniformly helpful and friendly. Overall, I would say Fit's facilities are comparable to the better athletic clubs and Y's I was a member in in Evanston (Chicago) and Hartford (Ct.) during the 1990s and early 2000s. This can not be said of any of the other larger clubs in Iowa City (Core, North Dodge). Keep up the good work!

Fantastic experience: All new equipment - Dramatic improvement from CORE

Fantastic experience: I like the fact that everything is on line. I love the fact that I can sign up for a bike on line (no more sign up sheets-yah!!). I look forward to seeing the finished project at Fit as you are obviously still working on the entry and the mirrors in the spin room. Glad to be back! Things look great so far.

It's nice to see owners/managers present & actively part of what is happening in the gym whether it's via email, or working with a member. Thanks for bringing this facility back to life!
