Fantastic experience: Myself and two of my children study under Chief Master Kim. As a retired Army veteran I appreciate the structure, discipline and values he instills in his students. Chief Master Kim is an excellent instructor, with vast experience and knowledge in Tae Kwon Do, Hap ki do, Judo and Kendo.

Fantastic experience: A great studio, my family attends regularly. He is very friendly and works well with children and adults. Master Kim knows Tae Kwon Do, as well as some other forms of martial arts -and has many years of teaching experience(and belts!).

Fantastic experience: Our Daughter loves coming to Master Kim! The only 8th degree Black Belt in the desert! He’s been training since he was 4, has the credentials to prove it, and is now passing his skills and knowledge along to his students. Our child has been attending for almost 4 years and has not passed every test given to her, but has come a long way! Our team participates in tournaments out of town, Los Angeles and San Diego against dozens of other teams and we do well coming home with Gold in many different events. Our students win medals in single and team events every time! These tournaments are under the Federal Tae Kwon Do association. An unbiased and independent organization. (So they would have no reason to give medals and trophies if the students weren’t qualified.) plenty of teams go home with nothing. This is a commitment type program if you really want your child to obtain skills. Dedication is required. Buts it’s totally up to you! If you or your child are looking for some exercise in a great atmosphere with great people, then this is the place for you as well! Just like anything else, there are fees associated with these classes. Our daughter comes 5 days a week so what we pay is fair. You get what you pay for! Master Kim was great about working within our budget. Come and decide for yourself. Don’t listen to negative reviews by people who never had there kids enrolled here.

Fantastic experience: The BEST Martial Arts Studio in the desert!! Before coming to Master Kim we tried 2 other studios closer to our La Quinta home. We didn’t receive the 1 on 1 attention there like we do with Master Kim. I’ve seen such a difference with our daughter! Thanks to Kim’s studio our girl is more confident and feels better about herself. As a parent I feel better knowing that she is learning to protect herself and at the same time exercising and interacting with other kids. There’s adult and teen classes available to accommodate all schedules. Great summertime activity so your kids aren’t sitting in front of the T.V. All day! Come down and join our family!! I took the time to read the other reviews on this page and can assure anyone that NO. Belts are not just handed out. YES there is testing. NO. Students do not run around like a playground. Socialization before and after class only! NO price gouging. This is not a YMCA free class type dojo. You will pay testing fees and federation fees, membership fees. But Master Kim will work with any budget. We are not rich people and it works for us. People can’t expect to send kids for an extracurricular activity 5 days a week for free. Not paying anymore than any other after school sport here in the desert.

Fantastic experience: Our son has been attending Master Kim class for 8 months now . He’s improve so much through out the months . I looked at several studios before enrolling my son with Master Kim. He was the only one that had 40 yrs of experience and a legit Master . I really encourage everyone to sign up your little one .

Fantastic experience: Master Kim studio is the best here in the valley. He has plenty of experience and he is great with all kids. What I like the most is that if a child does not put in the time and effort they will not get a belt. My daughter had her black belt testing and was not ready, she now has to wait six months until she can try again for a black belt. My daughter has learned a lot while having fun and building relationships.

Fantastic experience: Those who gave Master Kim’s Studio 1 star, are just trying to hurt Master Kim. Master Kim is a generous, caring man who loves to teach his students. I have been taking my granddaughter to Master Kim for over 6 years and now is going for her 3rd black belt. I would never take her to any other studio. Master Kim has taught her to be a strong and respectful person. If the students are running around it’s before class. Those total high dollar amounts that the other people said that Master Kim charges are not true. Master Kim does test his students before he gives his students their belts. The belts are given to the students on a different day.

He teaches discipline, confidence and honesty. I am glad my daughter has self defense knowledge now. Great place for children and people of all ages to attend.
