Yoga on 45th: Opinions
Fantastic experience: I have attended classes here on a periodic basis, and the environment is always very welcoming and inviting. I'm a beginning yoga student, and the beginner and moderate classes have all been wonderful! Each instructor I've had takes a pace appropriate to the level of the students, and provides a challenging and refreshing class!
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Yoga On 45th! I am a beginner with physical issues. Alison and her staff have encouraged me. I do not feel intimidated in any way as I felt at other places.. They give you their personal attention.

Fantastic experience: I love the instructors. They help students who have physical limitations.
Fantastic experience: Hooked . . . and floating! Even better than the yoga classes, if possible, is the trigger point (private) session I had with Allison this morning. I have been working to get my arm back in gear, after shattering my humerus a little over a year ago. The older we get, the longer it takes to heal and sometimes full recovery isn't in the cards. Or so I thought till today. I actually made the appointment for my lower lumbar. Acupuncture has taken me from an 8 (barely able to walk) to a 1, but the Forward Fold in yoga continually reminds me I'm not there yet. After attending one of Allison's myofascial release classes, I felt some more relief, so I decided to keep going with a one-on-one treatment. She warned me that this would hurt, and told me to let her know if she was going too deep. I told her I learned the meaning of "hurts so good" at a trigger point massage I had years ago. It hurts while they are working, but by breathing into it (another tip I learned in the yoga classes), I was able to get more flexibility and bear the pain. She worked on both hips and both upper arms. By the time she got to the final arm, I was about to lose it. But I called on my inner tiger and held out. When she finished and told me to sit up slowly, I had to hold on to the sides of the table, to get my bearings. I stood up, and she asked me, "How's your back?" All I could say is, "What back?" I had NO PAIN. AT ALL. Not even a .05! And the flexibility in my neck and arms made me feel like I could fly. I am not kidding. I haven't felt this good in YEARS! Allison is a genius when it comes to how the muscles and bones in our bodies work. She told me a pain in my back might be indicative of a problem elsewhere, and she was right. She also told me that I have a lot of other issues with my spine and stance. And, once I told her about the three auto accidents I had been involved in (with injuries), she didn't wonder how I got this way. It has been over twenty years since the third accident, but the injuries have come home to roost. It has been forever ago that I felt limber (I used to be a pretzel), and I had written my stiffness off to age. But I feel like I've been released from some kind of prison. We are so accepting of our aches and pains that we forget: THEY ARE TRYING TO TELL US TO GET HELP! And, too many of us get relief from our pain, which is quite different from being cured, and go back to the same lifestyle that got us in trouble in the first place. NOT THIS TIME! I will work with Allison on the rest of my problems, till she says I'm good. Then I'll set up a maintenance program! If--in a month or so--you see someone floating in Da Region sky . . . it will be me! Thank you Allison AND Yoga on 45th!
Fantastic experience: I’m rating it at the highest possible rating for being authentic and human. Bringing mind, all bodies, and spirits together to share in strength, balance, wellness, and breath work. Renewing and strengthening both mind and body, all the while maintaining a sense of humor and lightness. Not taking yourself to seriously. I emphasize real....for at this moment in time I’m actually doing this rating knowingly. The last one I never posted because first of all I never knew what it was until it magically popped up in my email box. I don’t use technological devises unless I’m forced to. Even now after I struggled to walk through the process of editing this original mystery rating. Anyway that’s why some of this electronic manifestations frustrate me. For the record Google Maps apparently created original rating which I would never have looked up to do, and....I’m not even certain this is working now. Hope so. Sincerely Nicole.

Fantastic experience: I love the instructors at Yoga on 45th! I have taken yoga classes at several other places in the area and what I like about Yoga on 45th and why I made it my "yoga home" for the past 2 years is that they really explain all of the movements and which muscles you should move/tense/relax and when. I think this is essential in a good yoga practice. Also, everyone is super friendly, the classes are great, and not hot! lol

It is a stress free environment that lets you work at your own pace, which is the whole theory behind your own yoga practice.
