Fantastic experience: As a female powerlifter and gym goer, I greatly appreciate Stronghand and it’s owner for creating an environment where women can feel comfortable and supported lifting heavy, or really any form of exercise! Even when I am there and I don’t know anyone else personally, I always feel a camaraderie and ease with all other members. Ian ensures that his members feel like they’re a part of the SHF community from day one. I am a member at three gyms in the area and all serve various purposes, but this one is by far the best as an open barbell gym. I can cover all my bases from cardio to lifting to accessories because Ian has equipped the gym with everything you could possibly need. It’s always super clean (bathrooms too!!) I drive 45min to get here because I love it so much!

Fantastic experience: Whether you’re a serious athlete or casual lifter this is the place to be. No other gym in the area can match the equipment or atmosphere. Veteran owned by one of the most knowledgeable guys in the industry.

Fantastic experience: I dropped in while I was in town (friends were competing in a powerlifting meet). This gym is super clean and has a great variety of equipment for all fitness styles. A good bit of lifters from Stronghand competed that weekend. They were met with support from the owner and other gym go-ers, which speaks volumes of the community Ian has created. If you’re visiting Asheville, I highly suggest stopping by.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 recommend this gym. Great facility, atmosphere and ownership. Well managed, and especially love their policy against harassment of members. This is a place you can feel safe to start working on your goals, surrounded by people who support and encourage one another.

Fantastic experience: I got a day pass here a few times when I needed a change of scenery from my regular gym. Super clean space. I was having some hip pain and the owner gave me some great tips and tricks to help that worked! I have only been lifting seriously for two years and the experience was awesome. Great equipment as well!

Has amazing equipment, and the owner and trainers are VERY knowledgeable and kind! They care for their clients and members with the utmost respect. Fantastic experience: Awesome gym and community. It’s always clean. I initially joined during Covid when other commercial gyms had shorter hours. Strong Hand was always clean and open 24/7. As a first responder with a crazy schedule this was a huge plus for me! I’ve always felt safe no matter what time I walk in the gym. Proud to be a member of this place and to be able to support a local family business. Ian the owner is one of the nicest dudes I have come across and has a lot of pride in this place and it definitely shows!

It is wonderfully equipped for Powerlifting in every detail, but I see families training there all the time. 24/7 access makes it convenient and you can find coaches and trainers too. Fantastic experience: Exactly the gym every powerlifter is looking for. Squat bars, deadlift bars, monolifts, calibrated kg and lb plates, and more. Everything you need in surplus and very little fluff. I need a gym like this in my hometown.

Fantastic experience: This is not your average gym. It doesn't have all the extra fluff that main stream gyms do, however it does have an amazing atmosphere. They owner is very knowledgeable and I have seen him walking around sharing his knowledge and experiences with gym patrons. Fantastic experience: I was able to get in on opening day to tour this gym. I went into the gym expecting it to be like every other gym out there. I was thoroughly surprised on the cleanliness of the gym, the organization, and how friendly the staff and the owner were. They have any equipment you need regardless if you are a powerlifter, body builder, crossfit, strongman, or just want to keep in shape.
