The Hill Y in Westminster

Fantastic experience: YMCA Hill Y: Everything super great for my wife and myself as we head toward 25 year’s of membership at 80 years old.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member now for a year and I love it. My daughter attends camp here which has made her come out of her shell. She has learned how to swim and met many new friends. My children love the splash pad. My husband works out there daily and I love all the available exercise classes. It’s a great place for the whole family.

Fantastic experience: All staff at The Hill Y in Westminster are very supportive and friendly. Some of the lifeguards even gave me pointers on my swim strokes when I asked for help! This is my favorite pool to get some laps in! There is such a welcoming community at the Y. I am proud to be a member.

Fantastic experience: For someone with a family who would like to work out in the gym outside of their home this is the perfect place. You have so many options of things that you can do it doesn't matter what time of day you go. You have the option to leave the children with the stay and play or you can swim with them or play in the park go on a walk I really feel like this is opened up my options of things I can do with my children and things I can do without my children while they're being taken care of in a safe place

Fantastic experience: The Hill Y is well equipped, clean, and the people are great. There are lots of classes taught by excellent instructors. The fees are reasonable, particularly when you consider the greater good the YMCA provides in the community (camps, after-school care, etc.). It's also a plus that I can, and do use YMCAs across the country when I travel so I can maintain my fitness routine.

Fantastic experience: The Y by far was the best investment for my whole family. We go to family swim every week and then there's always the splash pad for the kids and parents can relax. i love love the fitness area and the open gym for everyone. there really is so much to do and they offer so much more that I'm not listing. plus you can use your badge at any ymca. its awesome. definitely recommended.

Fantastic experience: Positive: Communication , Professionalism , Quality We only just recently joined, but so far have found that the facilities are clean and in good condition, staff has been super friendly and helpful, and there are so many activities and resources available. We are looking forward to enjoying our time as a family at the Y.

Fantastic experience: Easily one of the best if not best gyms in the greater Sykesville/Eldersburg/Westminster area. Smaller than Ys I'm used to, but every amenity is still available including a fantastic lap pool that is extremely clean. All COVID protocols are being met; members wear masks at all times and staff is quick to politely and privately ask anyone to continually make sure mask is on during exercise as well. Never had to deal with broken machines or equipment here either. Every staff member is extremely friendly. I come here 6 times a week and each day is a hit. After searching for a gym after a recent move, this is my home for sure.

Fantastic experience: Positive: Professionalism , Quality The y has done their best to keep things sanitary and safe doing covid. I enjoy the variety of classes they offer during the morning and the women’s outdoor adventure club. They do need to being offering more evening and weekend classes for those who work.

Fantastic experience: Membership in the Y builds my body, mind and spirit. I joined to get my body in better shape. The Y is soooo much more than building (or rebuilding) the body. Lots and lots of social events, great classes, with outstanding instructors and participants. State of the art fitness equipment, plus so much more. The Y is one of the best investments I’ve made.

Fantastic experience: It’s a fun, friendly place! Clean, great staff, good assortment of classes if you can be there when they are running. Just wish it opened a little ( 1 hour) earlier and stayed opened later, ESPECIALLY on the weekends. But it’s still great and SUPER family friendly.

Fantastic experience: I don’t leave many reviews but really wanted to share how great the Hill Y had been for our family, and especially our boys (ages 5 and 1). We’ve signed up for extras like swim lessons, basketball, and the sports days, all which are really reasonably priced - especially when compared with competitors in the area like Merritt (which we left for the Y). We love our swim instructor Ms. Yvonne. The ladies at the Stay and Play are always friendly and helpful. My little one loves to go in and get their attention. My oldest also is enrolled in the Chipmunks prek program in Finksburg, again very affordable for members and top-rate, integrated with county kindergarten expectations. Excellent teachers and director to work with and accommodating us mid-season. The new splash pad has been a great addition and my oldest is already excited for it to open again. If you make regular use of what the Y has to offer like we do, you get great value for the price. It’s truly a second home for us.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is always so friendly and it is so nice to enjoy the company. I like the water fitness class mid morning so I can get my chores done before class. After the class I can relax. I'm 83 now and the exercise helps me to keep my balance and stamina.

Fantastic experience: I like that the Y has so many different fitness options. I enjoy taking classes and also being able to run and lift in the fitness center. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The fitness instructors are all well-versed in the classes they teach, and the trainers are very skilled in meeting the fitness needs of a wide variety of people. I haven't missed a day since I joined!

Fantastic experience: I am currently taking a beginners swim class for adults. The instructor is very patient, kind and understanding! The environment is wonderful!

Fantastic experience: A small but well-run YMCA. We have a family membership and benefit from both the discounted kids activities and the stay-and-play for the fitness center. We did a few youth camps last summer but plan on doing the entire summer this year.
