Fantastic experience: Great facility. Visiting from Australia. The guy on Saturday reception was so nice and a younger lady showed us around super friendly. Worked out Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon. The lady on Wednesday night was not so friendly abrupt and standoffish attitude. Also a water fountain that can fill actual water bottles. The mouth drinking water fountains are so unhealthy. Other than that loved it.

Fantastic experience: Love coming to this place when in Pismo. Getting my workout done while in vacation. Weight lifting, cardio classes, sauna, steam room, smoothies bar, the attentive employees at the front desk, everything is great.

Fantastic experience: I am so glad I became a member at PBAC! Some of my favorite things about this gym are how *exceptionally* clean the locker room is, the pool/jacuzzi/steam/sauna are all great features, I did personal training with Petra and LOVED it, she is super focused, calm and supportive, TRX was cool and Zumba with Rheka was often the highlight of my week because it was so fun! The front desk people are always friendly too so walking in the door was always pleasant. Definitely recommend trying it out!

Fantastic experience: The club recently made some changes in the court rules to increase the quality of play for all skill levels. Thereby players of a similar skill level are playing each other. This required different times of play depending on your skill level. Some people have interpreted this to mean they are not welcome which is not true, you just need to read the signs to determine when your level is allowed to play. This has resulted in the club being known as a place to obtain a quality game and is attracting players from around the county. Naturally some players embellish their skill level and are upset when management informs them that they need to play at a different time. They also offer classes to help players improve their ability and rise in level. They try to make it a fun experience for all, and unfortunately there is always some folks who are difficult and combatant, and management is quick to remove these folks if they do not conform to the club rules. I play 6 days a week and look forward to the social atmosphere and good nature teasing on the courts, plus my level of play has increased. In addition they have some of the nicest courts in the county and a very clean well maintained club offering all sorts of activities. FYI I posted this review on Yelp and they automatically sent it to the non recommended file. I requested a reason for this and never got a response. This is the second time they have done this. I can only assume that Yelp has an ulterior motive to arbitrarily discriminate against certain posts without explanation. Is it to force the business owner to pay for favorable reviews or just to impinge the stellar reputation of one of the best health facilities in the county. Go to Yelp and click on non recommended posts and you will see mine and many many others.

Positive experience: I love this gym been going to it for years but since they change the hours it just isn't feasible for me anymore ???? by the time I get off of work get home and change. The gym is closed. And for the price I think it should have better hours.

Fantastic experience: Really nice gym with all the amenities. As a yearly Pismo tourist, it's great to get a day pass to workout while on vacation. The employes are nice and the gym was clean.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend PBAC. I call it the Pismo Beach Friendly Club. The front desk staff are sweet and welcoming and they love to say Yes! I mainly swim but I also do yoga there. People in the pool have always been so gracious offering to share a lane [pre-covid] or acknowledging you if you're waiting. In the locker room people greet each other nicely too. I like the yoga class and I love swimming where I'm not feeling a cold wind outside of the water.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! Especially since the remodel. They are friendly at the desk, the machines are spaced well so you're not feeling cramped. It's very clean considering how busy it can get there. I love the indoor pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. I also enjoy that is mostly an older crowd there, so you can go without feeling pressured to socialize if you're not in the mood to. It's just all over a great facility. Plus Jim at Gym is the Best!

Fantastic experience: Under the circumstances the ownership and staff at PABC are doing the best they can to accommodate their members. I am sure they are experiencing at least some financial distress just based on the limited access that the county is allowing and that in and of itself is greatly appreciated.

Fantastic experience: PBAC is a first class gym. The renovations and upgrades that took place during the closure are amazing. The owner/staff have gone out of their way to accommodate their gym patrons during this upside down time. They have always been and continue to be knowledgeable and friendly. Fantastic experience: PBAC has done a great job handling operations during COVID. They took the opportunity to make some great upgrades when they were closed and it certainly paid off. I really like having the new reservation system for pool swims, but will miss have a full hour of swimming! Thank you for providing a safe and clean gym for all of us.

Fantastic experience: Pismo Beach Athletic Club is simply the best. Ryan, the manager, and all of the staff and instructors work so very hard to make sure members have a good experience there. I especially appreciate the extraordinary efforts the staff has gone through to ensure that the Club is safe. The Club follows all the CDC, State, and local public health guidelines to a "T." Classes are now outside, as the Governor requires, with safe spacing, sanitizer, and microfiber cloths for wiping down all equipment one may have touched. I cannot rate them highly enough. While other clubs have defied the Governor's order to close their inside space, PBAC has chosen not to defy the Governor's order in order to keep their members safe. Has it cost them? Absolutely. Do they care about their members? Most definitely.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank the administration at PBAC for following the country guidelines and adapting to make services available to members. Many clubs in the area are disregarding the covid policies and I want to thank Ryan and the team for thinking of our safety and members health. Continue to follow the recommended guidelines and we will all celebrate when quarantine is lifted. Missing all the members and instructors. Stay safe, we can see a ray of hope.

Fantastic experience: Great gym and equipment, staff is super friendly and helpful. Outdoor classes for now, but pool area recently opened after reconstruction with open air. Lots of sanitizers and they clean frequently.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have been members here for nearly 20 years. We love the mellow vibe, the friendly staff, and the ocean views from the weight room. But, we appreciate it now more than ever. When the facility was allowed to open again after COVID restrictions were imposed, I was so impressed with the level of care shown by management to insuring member safety. The premises are immaculate, the locker rooms (just renovated) are sparkling and spacious, and they had a bottle of disinfectant next to each machine. They even took the roof off the previously indoor pool so that we could swim again (by reservation now.) Unfortunately, to comply with COVID regulations, the indoor programs have shut down again, but it's great to see people taking a variety of classes out on the lawn and having a safe, clean place to swim again. I so appreciate that PBAC cares about us and our safety, not just seeing how many people they can get through the door. Kudos!

Fantastic experience: The lap swimming in PBAC’s now outdoor pool has been exceptional. The club has handled the sign-ups (Mind Body) very well. So appreciate being back in the water...heated to perfection.

Fantastic experience: I have worked at PBAC for 20 years. I am so grateful to be an employee during this pandemic. I knew when they re-opened after the shut downs, I could trust them completely to reopen in a way that was safe for all of us. I was a little nervous about teaching outside but I am finding that I really enjoy it. PBAC has done a wonderful job of accommodating outdoor classes so we can all distance and still have a really safe and wonderful group exercise experience. We are certainly lucky to live in a place where we can exercise together at our home away from home, outside on the grass, with palm trees, an ocean breeze and blue skies. The front desk staff is friendly, caring and conscientious and they will help you feel comfortable, as I know they do me and my family. Please come give it a try with us! Group exercise is all about the energy, support, and motivation we get from each other, and that is certainly something we have all missed during Covid.

Fantastic experience: I am very thankful to the club owner and employees for the great procedures they have enacted in order to keep this club safe. Having the opportunity to have physical and social activity is helping to raise our spirits and keep up healthy activity. I know we all greatly appreciate this opportunity while the club is losing money everyday it's open.

Fantastic experience: Having driven by the Pismo Beach Athletic Club while on vacation or passing through Pismo across a number of years, my only regret on this post is that I hadn't ventured in to catch a workout at this gym earlier. The Kon Tiki Inn looked inviting, too, so in a recent need for accommodations in Pismo on work travel, I experienced both the hotel (A+) A d the Pismo Beach Athletic Club "GYM" (A++)! With an immaculate facility and every gym amenity (1st-class free weights, top-label machines and cardio equipment, indoor lap pool, steam, racquetball, aerobics room, spacious and varied 2-story, etc.), from the moment you enter the lobby and meet the bright, clearly committed staff, you congratulate yourself for discovering this premier facility and team. It's one of the best all-around gyms in the nation -- and enough to make a fitness buff want to move to Pismo just for this gym! Thanks to the Kon Tiki and P.A.C. staffs for all you folks do!

Fantastic experience: As a traveler, it is so nice to be welcomed by this club! $10 a visit or 5 for $45! What a bargain! 4 lanes for lap swim and sauna, steam and a whirlpool with good forceful jets! What’s not to like?

Fantastic experience: I have had memberships at every single gym in SLO county and this is by far the best. It has good machines that are well maintained, sauna, steam room, hot tub, and pool. All of which are kept immaculate. The showers have curtains, which is nice. And the classes are accessible if you sign up in a timely manner. The clientele is quite a bit older, but it's kind of nice because you don't have to see some of the ridiculousness of the mirror flexers and selfie nonsense.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Lots of classes. Personal trainers available for a fee. Pickleball courts, Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna, Steam room. Massage available. TV & coffee in the lounge, juice bar, Large locker room, Showers, friendly employees.

Fantastic experience: This gym has everything that you need. Racquetball tennis court steam room sauna room pool jacuzzi. Weights over 80 different type of classes. There's so much more you should see I am so happy I join this gym

Fantastic experience: An all inclusive athletic club on the ocean that has mostly older members & retirees. Several rooms providing everything from cardio to weights to classes. As well as a pool, wet & dry sauna & Jacuzzi.

Fantastic experience: This is the best gym I have ever belonged to...very clean, nice staff, accommodating manager, willing to make exceptions in extreme Circumstances. The pool is warm and sparking as is the dos and saunas.
