Fantastic experience: I have been going to Motive Training and specifically working with Marie for the last several months. I have gained strength and skills to improve my fitness. Fantastic experience: I have worked with Marie at Motive Training for six months. It has been a fantastic experience so far! I have struggled with chronic pain and originally did the Functional Range Assessment with RJ to pinpoint my strengths and weaknesses, as far as joints go. From there, I started working with Marie as my trainer. I love that every week she develops a workout that is customized to my body and needs. I already feel better - my pain is less, my body image has improved, and I am amazed at how far I have come. This is coming from someone who almost never picked up a weight. Now I enjoy weightlifting and am excited to learn about new exercises and techniques. Marie is knowledgeable and supportive. I highly recommend her and Motive Training.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Motive for several months, working out with Liz. Motive's approach has been very unique to me. There's a focus on flexability, strength and balance. I'm in my 50's now and the idea of improving those areas of my life at this stage is very exciting. I have felt a big difference in how I move and how I feel since I've been working with Liz.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Motive Training is exceptional! Brian did my initial evaluation and identified the areas I was struggling with and needed to work on. I've been working with Liz on improving those areas. She had customized workouts for me. One of the areas we have been working on is balance. I never thought I could improve that, but I am! I would highly recommend Motive Training to anyone!

Fantastic experience: I worked with Motive Training a few years ago. I can honestly say that they helped set me on the right path in fitness. It was less about "losing weight" and more about how you feel. The sessions did stretch your limits, but the presence, knowledge, and empathy in their approach is without equal. Fantastic experience: I am a former D1 athlete so I have seen a lot of different trainers and gyms in my life. No one has ever been as conscientious and skilled as the trainers at Motive. They have identified weak muscle groups that I had no idea existed or were holding me back. They have helped reduce back pain and increase mobility. I absolutely love this place. I’ve been going for over a year, and Motive is a non-negotiable in my daily life. I’ve also worked out with every single trainer there, and each one is phenomenally knowledgeable and lovely. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Brian and his team are the best in the game! I was experiencing pain in my lower back and went into Motive to see if they could help me identify the issue. Brian administered a functional range assessment and I was given solid recommendations on things I could do to remediate the pain on my own. It worked. Motive didn’t just make my pain go away—they also gave me invaluable insight on how to properly move and take care of my body long-term. I’m now experiencing pain in my shoulder, and there’s nowhere else I’d go in GR to get it looked at. Motive, I’ll see you again soon!

Fantastic experience: Motive Training has been so darn professional and caring in my journey to better health and fitness. Being a total amateur, my trainer RJ has been absolutely boss about teaching proper form and pushing me to my limits. Every trainer there is uber kind and radiates good energy. As someone who’s self conscious about my lack of fitness expertise, the environment here has been essential to me not giving up on this fitness journey like I have too many times before. And dare I say it, I actually have seen some positive results? My clothes fit better, I’m stronger, I don’t tire as easily. All this after only a few months. Excited to continue my fitness journey. Plus the owner Brian has the best thighs in the Midwest, so big plus right! Anyways, highly HIGHLY recommend, particularly if you’re looking to start your own journey towards fitness, Motive Training will be a fantastic asset on that journey!

Fantastic experience: Brian is a brilliant mind and great at communicating his expertise. He worked with me on finding weaknesses and did a thorough functional range assessment, which I’ve been pretty interested in for awhile. As a beat up powerlifter, I’ve created many compensation patterns and it was great to break it down and figure out what is likely causing a big portion of my hip tightness. Looking forward to more sessions and taking my training to the next level as I progress in my powerlifting career.

Fantastic experience: Going to weekly Kinstretch has been amazing! I have learned so much about gaining strength within my full range of motion and have felt more stable and confident with my other forms of exercise because of it. Fantastic experience: I came to Brian at Motive Training with a shoulder injury. After our first session together, he was able to help me pin point the cause of my shoulder pain. During the hour, we also did work together to improve the pain and my range of motion and I was surprised to feel some relief! (I've had this shoulder injury/pain for over 2 years). Brian was very thorough when it came to solving exactly where my shoulder pain was coming from. I am grateful for how careful he was when it came to testing my shoulder mobility and integrating different exercises. I was really happy with my 1-1 session because I now know what I need to work on to improve my shoulder. Following the session, I also received a detailed protocol with video tutorials of exercises I need to do daily to maintain my progress. I hope to get back to serving a volleyball overhand soon! Fantastic experience: I have been going to Kinstretch classes with Brian and I highly recommended them. Brian is great at explaining each stretch in detail and help you with any adjustments. Fantastic experience: I would absolutely recommend Motive Training! Brian, the owner, has been absolutely amazing to me throughout my journey. He is so knowledgeable and has always customized everything to fit ME. Fantastic experience: My weekly visits to Motive are pretty much my self-care, therapy and workout all rolled into one. As someone who has never had a healthy relationship with working out and my body image, the thought of initially completing an assessment at Motive was pretty nerve-wracking. However, Brian and Liz immediately won me over! They worked with me on identifying goals that I wanted for myself and there was no push to focus on weight loss (or other "go to" goals). Instead, they encouraged me to begin with listening to my body and helped me see the potential I had for bettering my mobility, strength and endurance. Four months in and I can honestly say that my sessions, the ones usually filled with great conversation and ridiculous laughter, are the proudest investment I've made in myself in the last several years.

Fantastic experience: I came to MotiveTraining 6 months after a spinal trauma: herniated disc, bulged disc, & multiple unspecified annular years connecting my lumbar and sacrum. Prior to the injury I was an advanced athlete participating in weightlifting, running, and boxing 4-5 days a week. My ultimate goal is to re-learn how to exercise in a way that is sustainable for my body and protects my spine. Brian has been extremely knowledgeable in his approach to training me. After about 3 weeks of training in the gym and doing my daily routine (that Brian put together for me) I am starting to move about my day with less chronic pain and am feeling much more hopeful about my body’s ability to recover from an injury and resume an active lifestyle. Can’t recommend enough!!

Fantastic experience: My partner and I had such a great experience with Motive! We worked with Brian the months leading up to our wedding and both of us felt great on our big day. We found Brian, and the whole team over at Motive, to be incredibly knowledgeable, relatable and focused. Fantastic experience: Brian, Dan and team are great to work with! I love the friendly, family-like environment that happens from the start, with the employees as well as other clients. With this being a smaller gym, they were able to create a perfect 1:1 program that works for me. The gym is easy to get to, parking has never been an issue and the facilities are always immaculate. Fantastic experience: I have been working out at Motive training consistently since May 2019. Immediately motive felt like home. Brian is professional, knowledgeable, motivating, and an all around fabulous trainer. I love how proper form and injury prevention are at the forefront of my workouts. The workout are fun, fast paced, and every day is different, which is perfect for my exercise add! Brian has also helped clean up my nutrition and I love the accountability aspect of working with him. I have seen a few other trainers at Motive too and across the board this is an AMAZING place to be a part of!

Fantastic experience: Brian and his other staff members at motive are all absolutely incredible. They are knowledgeable, intentional, and passionate. Three things I look for in a gym or someone who is going to help me in my health and wellness journey. Everyone at motive puts safety first and strives for quality over quantity. Since training at motive I’ve noticed my endurance improving, my strength and energy increasing, and my motivation for the ripple effect to continue choosing healthy decisions every day. There is accountability, laughter, and tips and tricks on how to improve overall form. Also kinstretch! Such an amazing added bonus to what motive already does. At motive, there is not a pushy, screaming, yelling at you vibe which I love. Very encouraging and genuine. If you’re looking for a trainer and gym that prioritizes it’s clients, that’s passionate and excited about their work, and am absolutely professional, friendly, and a safe atmosphere, look no further than motive training.

Fantastic experience: We ( my husband and I) moved to Michigan a few months back and wanted to start training. We ended up calling motive and were pleasantly surprised at how prompt their response was and how professional their attitude was. Since then, our experience with motive has been nothing short of phenomenal. Brian and Dan are both extremely invested in their client’s fitness, interests and overall health. Dan has gone above and beyond in not only accommodating our ever changing schedules but also in designing and adapting workouts that would work best for our body types and fitness goals! We are so happy with the results so far and are super excited to see how we continue to grow stronger and fitter with their help over time! Motive is super clean, super fun, and I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to get healthier, slimmer, fitter or just feel better !! P.S. I’ve never seen a gym that’s thoughtful enough to have hair ties by the lockers for people with long hair , and this might be a small thing but it goes to show how much thought has been put into making this a wonderful place to workout !

Fantastic experience: Im pretty familiar with the fitness industry, so believe me when I tell you that Brian and his team at Motive Training are TOP NOTCH. I transitioned to Motive a little over a month ago after losing my last trainer to a career change and I’m kicking myself for waiting long. Brian’s knowledge of how our individual bodies are meant to move has opened my eyes and allowed me to adapt to a new style of training that works for me opposed to using cookie cutter plan. Working one on one with Shelley this past month has been the best. Shelley is very conscious of the health conditions that I’m trying to manage. For the first time in almost a year, my TSH levels are normal and I’m lifting pain free. This team is very quickly becoming like family to me (whether they like it or not ;)). I’m looking forward to continuing one on one training with Shelley and attending additional Kinstretch classes. The value of working with Motive is incredible. You won’t regret working with someone on this team.

Fantastic experience: After checking out several personal trainers in the area, I couldn’t be happier with my decision to go with Motive Training. The staff is amazing, the gym is top notch, and the 1-on-1 training is exactly what I was looking for! Each workout is specifically tailored around your individual needs and the staff is truly knowledgeable and adjusts as you go along. I was looking for someone to help hold me accountable, but what I ended up finding was a great group of people who make me look forward to getting in each and every workout. Fantastic experience: Brian is very knowledgeable, approachable, caring, and professional. My goals are to decrease pain in my joints when I exercise and he is happily working me through these goals. I was hesitant to consult with a personal trainer as I had no desire to change my outward appearance, discuss eating habits, etc. Brian does a good job listening to clients and focusing on what each specific client desires from their personal training experience. I highly recommend Motive Training for assistance in achieving your health goals!

Fantastic experience: After several years with the same trainer, he retired, and my husband and I needed to find someone new. Motive uses a different approach, more individualized than our last gym, and I wasn’t sure I was going to like the change. It has actually been great! I’ve tried new things and my balance has improved a lot. I have maintained muscle (that was my goal) and have added more muscle in areas that weren’t being hit before. I work with Brian and sometimes RJ and my husband works with Dan. They have all been great and have been able to use an approach that works for each of us (we’re pretty different). They are very knowledgeable and seem to be always seeking out new knowledge in this area. The gym is run very professionally both in terms of service and commitment to quality, with well maintained equipment. I would highly recommend Motive!

Fantastic experience: I have found my favorite place to workout and my favorite person to workout with. Motive Training with Dan Montgomery. I am very motivated to stay in shape and be healthy, even in these times of uncertainty. I look forward to the positivity and great feeling I will have after each of my twice-a-week workouts. The gym has everything needed for a complete workout. My trainer has become part of my lifestyle. I cannot imagine not working out every week with him. He is very motivating and can change exercises on a dime when needed since I have a lot of issues with many parts of my body. I am so much stronger since I began working out at Motive. Fantastic experience: Rachel and Brian at Motive are absolutely awesome. I started as someone who had no idea how to reach my goals and Rachel has patiently and kindly taught me how to love working out in a gym setting. Motive’s location is super clean and doesn’t feel like a gym - it’s a studio - and everyone is super friendly, welcoming, and accepting. Such a great experience each time I go. Fantastic experience: I came to Motive Training because I have been training for some long distance running races. I knew to be able to perform well & run these distances I would need to become physically stronger. I have been training with Brian now for 8 weeks. And in that short time I cannot believe the strength I've gained. I've leaned out/lost body fat. And my speed is getting faster and I'm able to go the distance because I am STRONGER! From the moment I stepped foot into their training studio/gym I felt welcome & comfortable. I like the intimacy of their studio. Never more than 4-6 people in there when I've been training & that's including the trainers. It is not intimidating at all! And it is very very clean. Brain has listened to me throughout my running training, the needs I have, any running injury/pain and has implemented it into our training sessions. He takes the time to explain the movements to me and makes sure I am doing them correctly so I benefit the most from it! Even when I'm unsure he is always patient. He has been a motivator and great teacher! He is very supportive of my running goals and takes an actual interest in hearing about them! Both Brian and Rachel are just normal people who have the knowledge to train anyone to become better, stronger, faster, more confident! And my confidence has grown 10 fold. And that is huge. I cannot recommend Motive Training highly enough!

Fantastic experience: What a great place! The trainers are world class. They treat you with respect! They will help push you through mobility limitations that you were not aware of and help with things that you are not comfortable with by yourself. They train you to move with a purpose. The owner Brian is great to work with and really wants you to succeed with your goals. Rachel is the strongest woman I know, friendly, happy and full of so much energy! Very inspiring! Josiah was my personal trainer! I so looked forward to our morning workouts together! He taught me so much when it comes to form, and building one exercise on another ! Brian has worked hard to build a team of highly skilled trainers that provide the same personal touch as himself. You will be in good hands with any of the trainers here. Fantastic experience: I've been going to Motive Training for about seven months now and it's been an incredible experience, overall. I've worked mostly with Brian, and also with Dan, and both are excellent at what they do. Brian is very motivating, which is important to me as working out has never been something that has been easy for me. He clearly cares about improving his clients' health and well-being. He is very patient, but also pushes you further than you thought you could go, but never to the point where it feels impossible. The space is very nice, clean, and comfortable to train in, with high-quality equipment. Workouts are tailored to help meet your goals, and Brian is great about reaching out between sessions to stay in touch and provide motivation, which I appreciate. I also think it's important to note that Motive Training is good for people of any skill level, in terms of fitness, as the trainers are skilled in creating many different workout plans tailored to the specific needs of the client.

Fantastic experience: I've been working 1 on 1 with Rachel at Motive Training for a few months and couldn't be happier! The knowledge and skill Rachel is teaching me has brought my fitness and strength to a new (awesome) level. I've dealt with a few significant injuries over the years and she has always kept this in mind while pushing me further than I ever did on my own, in a safe and pain-free manner. I trust her and she knows her stuff! The training has been 110%, but the customer service at Motive also needs mention. Rachel, Brian, and everyone else are welcoming, knowledgeable, and experienced. They're great teachers, offer encouragement and support, and are just plain nice people. The gym is brand new, clean, and well-planned. These guys obviously love what they do and it shows in the product they offer!

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for great personalized workouts with trainers who know what they are doing, then the trainers at Motive Training are who you are looking for. Brian and his team take the time to understand what your goals are then build a program to help you achieve those goals regardless of your skill level. I came to work with Brian just under a year ago with limited strength in my right arm and constant pain in my neck. Brian took the time to try to understand the issue and limitations then tailored a plan to work on helping me meet my goals despite the limited use of my arm. He did so while keeping variety in the workouts. As my arm improved and strength returned, he developed more complex workouts that continue to push me towards my goals. He truly cares about his clients and wants you to succeed. He keeps you motivated; both during your sessions and outside of them. I look forward to my workouts with him. I may leave sore but I always feel better than when I arrived.

Fantastic experience: Brian is a fantastic trainer, and a fantastic person. He focuses on your goals and teaches you so much along the way. When I started working with Brian, I wanted to build my legs with the challenges of bad knees and a tricky lower back. Brian asks questions, observes, teaches form and function, and always checks in to make sure you're doing okay. With Brian's input, my legs are much stronger than I could've achieved on my own, and my fitness goals have broadened as a result. I can highly recommend Brian's gym and services - he's a real pleasure to work with.

Fantastic experience: When I first met Brian (owner), I thought I was hiring a personal trainer. I had no idea I was meeting family. Brian has been a force of motivation inside and outside the gym. Through all of our work together, there has always been a personal friendship that goes to show that he cares for you individually. Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the days I get to train at Motive! I was always intimidated by gyms (and by weight lifting in general) but Motive and especially my trainer, Rachel, have completely turned that around. This new space is so bright and clean and everyone is incredibly welcoming, encouraging, and positive! I love the small studio feel while still having access to all the equipment I could need to get a great workout in. Rachel is seriously THE BEST to work with! Fantastic experience: Motive Training has changed my life in more ways than one. My coach Dan meets me where I’m at every training but also pushes me to be better every time I’m in the gym. Fantastic experience: My favorite day of the week is when I get to train at Motive. Everyone there is super friendly, encouraging and the energy is so positive. The space is shiny and new with all the bells and whistles for equipment. It's obvious the management and trainers truly care about their clients and want to create a healthy, educational experience for everyone who walks in the door. My trainer Rachel has been such a joy to work with - her knowledge and encouragement have completely changed my outlook on fitness and I appreciate her so much. I cannot recommend Motive enough!
