Fantastic experience: We love this gym! I was working out on my own for a few months and then Jonnie set up a free session with him to help me assess what I needed to meet my goals. To be honest I dreaded the appointment and didn’t want to go but I went and I’m so glad I did. He has been so helpful, gave me a meal plan as well as personal training with intense workouts once a week. The other days I attend the XGT classes in the morning and they are great too! Steven is awesome and the people in the classes welcomed me right away. I love the feeling of community here. Overall this is a great gym and meeting with Jonnie and starting personal training truly has changed my life .

Fantastic experience: Always super clean, everyone is very nice and helpful. Even though it’s a smaller gym, there is always enough equipment for everyone. Definitely recommend!!

Fantastic experience: We absolutely recommend this beautiful gym with more than five stars! My husband and I are professional dancers from LA looking for a high quality gym that is definitely not like all the rest. The standards are clear. We take our body and mental status seriously and this is our home away from home. As world champion dancers whom have traveled the world this is our church! Feeling excepted from the moment we walked into the doors was a huge game changer for us as a team. We embrace that it’s not packed with every piece of equipment being used or abused. The entire staff is family. Our cup of tea! Jonnie has been our personal trainer for months now & we are thankful for the attention to detail daily. The support for helping individuals feel their very best, no matter their state of mind we have felt embraced. Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to this gym for almost two years, and its great. The staff here are very nice and make you feel welcomed. The boot camp classes, which I’m personally participating in are a good source of workouts which have helped me get into shape. The manager is very friendly and truly cares about his people and does he’s best to achieve our needs. The gym equipment is always clean and organized unlike other gyms All in all it’s a great place if you want to improve yourself and get a good workout. I recommend it

Fantastic experience: 2nd review new management since last visting. Gym is small and efficient to get all your workout needs. There are 3 different membership levels basic starts at $9.99 and up. They do run specials. Also personal trainers are in my opinon inexpensive and worth it. Jonnie and Lina are amazing with postive attitudes and are very positive. Located right in the west valley in the park west location. Highly recommended gym.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for years as has my wife. My wife has benefited from the training and the classes. I love the staff, they are friendly and always willing to help. The gym is constantly seeing change in the form of upgrades and new equipment. They price is extremely reasonable for the equipment you get. It may not be the physically largest gym, but in my whole experience it is by far the best gym that I have ever been a member of. I have moved be twice and continue to drive just so I can stay here.

Fantastic experience: Great staff, knowledgeable. The personal trainers will push you to be more than you thought possible. I have injuries from college football and judo. The pain on my knees, neck, shoulders, and lower back have completely gone away. I've regained my strength and stamina. If I don't make it in for a workout with Noah or Johnny, I feel like it's a day lost. You will want to be here. You will have results. Guaranteed!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym since the first week I moved to Phoenix, and have been loyal to them since for over 2 years now! Jonnie is the absolute man!! The environment he’s created there makes it SO easy to find your groove, whether your into group training, or riding solo! Only and always good vibes. Fantastic experience: Well stocked gym that is clean with a friendly atmosphere and excellent trainers. Johnny, the owner, is very knowledgeable and attentive to the needs of his clients. My trainer, Noah is excellent at his job and is constantly focused, making sure I do my excercises correctly. I wholeheartedly recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: i started my journey here in 2017 at almost 300lbs, i hit 200 with the help of the trainers and the awesome XGT class they have over there! the staff and people here are what kept me coming its great and I'm so glad i found this gym. I am now an avid lifter and trying to gain that weight back but in muscle ! Try the XGT classes if not its a great 24hr gym to have.

Fantastic experience: Johnny and Jose have literally changed my life! I came out of quarantine the heaviest I’ve ever been and thanks to these two I’ve lost close to 40 lbs in 5 months! Fantastic experience: After two years of searching for a good gym, this is the best gym I've found in the area. Smart Gym has friendly staff, equipment that's clean and actually works, and Trainers that are knowledgeable. As a bonus, it's not overcrowded at all. I've been doing personal training, primarily with Jonnie, and after the first month, I had already made tremendous improvements. In the beginning he sat down with me and went over a diet and workout regimen that fit my needs and goals. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a new gym.

Fantastic experience: Smart gym is amazing! I went in as someone without any specific goals as someone who hadn’t been to a gym in years- all I knew is I wanted to get active and be healthier. The staff at smart gym went above and beyond all of my expectations. During the free consultation they called smart start, not only did they help me learn where I was at in terms of my overall fitness, but they helped me set both short term and long term goals for myself. My trainer even went as far as giving me a nutrition plan and helping me find my BMI. The staff is very friendly, and encouraging- always willing to answer questions about certain moves or any dietary concerns. The XGT class is super fun! The trainers leading it are high energy and extremely enthusiastic! The course is an hour of circuit training, stretching, cross fit, super sets, cardio- it’s different every time! The diversity of movements and styles really helps keep things interesting and engaging! The gym is super well equipped with treadmills, stair masters, row machines, and all of the free weights and machines you could ask for. They even have self powered treadmills and bikes that make fat burning sprints really convenient and easy to work in to your lift routines. Over all I’d have to say that as someone who was a bit nervous to start from scratch again after so many years, this has been the most positive gym experience I’ve had yet. The staff is incredible, the equipment is awesome, and it’s extremely clean. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: By far the best gym I’ve ever signed up for. The staff is friendly and the equipment is clean and well kept. I’ve dropped 20 lbs and more than 6% body fat in 2 months through their personal training program and XGT classes. I highly recommend this gym!

Fantastic experience: Smart Gym has friendly and knowledgeable employees and good vibes all around. Johnny genuinely cares for his members and an absolute trooper to want to keep pushing me outside my limits no matter how much I whine. He definitely has the patience of a saint. The XGT classes are also amazing and challenging. They have a a lot of class times throughout the day and throughout the week. I thought it was intimidating at first but everyone there is so encouraging and Rachel is also an amazing trainer. All the workouts can be modified according to level and strength. Definitely try out XGT classes and a personal trainer, especially if you are new to working out. A PT’s guidance makes all the difference in the world.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Smart Gym for the past three months now and I’m very impressed with their facilities. Consistently clean gym, friendly staff, and state of the art equipment. Plus I like the XGT classes when I need an extra special burn! They are never too busy, so I can always grab the machines I need.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Smart Gym in hopes to join but Unfortunately it was a little out of the way for me, although I didn't join I wanted to talk about the amazing experience I had while I was there. I had called and scheduled an appointment with Pearl I think her name was, and so just want to say if you are thinking of Joining Smart Gym definitely see her, she was so professional in explaining what the Gym offeres and all the equipment witch I have never seen before, I am a very closed off person and she asked me questions in a way I didn't feel like she just wanted to sell me a membership, she even had me crying and it is really hard for me to open up to anyone, I really needed that, last but not least I wanted to say even though I did not join I have gotten two text messages from her just telling me not to give up on my goals and letting me know Smart Gym is here for me if I ever need anything. Thank you so much Pearl. What a great employee.

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: 04/12/18 After posting this review I was contacted with in 24 hours to get this all st straighten out and I received a full refund. I am very pleased with the level of professionalism that I received and will take back the 1 star review. I really do love this gym and love the xgt classes. The coaches are wonderful as well, my favorite two are Brock and Steve, I highly recommend them and the class in general .......................................................................................................................... I really loved going to this gym it was fun and I learned a lot from their xgt class, but I had to cancel my membership in mid January since I had moved. I was told that I would be charged once more in February, but I am still being charged 40 dollars a month. I called to find out why this is happening, but after saying"I canceled my membership in January, but I am still being charged" the lady said "ugh" then immediately hung up the phone. I called back, but no one answered. This is very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Never had an issues like the other reviewers. I signed a one year pay up front contract. The SMART GYM is one the cleanest gyms I have been to. I don't sign up for personal trainers or the classes so I can not comment about the staff and their rudeness. I only have the occasional good morning and have a good day conversations (I wear my headphones all throughout my workout). I would recommend the GYM to a friend.

Fantastic experience: The staff is very friendly and helpful. They make a point to remember you. It's very clean and welcoming. I've never had a problem with any equipment being out of order. Someone always comes to say hi while your working out, just to make sure your doing okay. It's a very nice gym, lots of free weights, they have XGT training classes, and a wide variety of machines from cardio to weighted.

Fantastic experience: A year ago I decided to get my life together and start exercising and eating right. I was able to lose 50 pounds on my own and really became a gym junky :) in a good way. I found this gym through a friend of mine who went to an event on Saturday called XGT in the Park and I never felt so welcomed in my life!!!! I will tell you this place looks amazing and IS amazing. The staff is top of the line and the manager is the best guy I have ever met at a gym in my life especially when he does XGT classes with us! The energy and community feeling in this gym is what makes it special. The XGT is what makes it GREAT. I love my Smart Gym family!

Fantastic experience: My first interaction was to get a couple of my soccer teams in the door and have them get better physically and learn proper techniques. It quickly turned in to a hard working staff that wants to make the individual better than it was the day before. After 8 weeks of weekly Tuesday classes both teams have improved dramatically. As for me as thier coach. I signed up my family of 4 and haven't looked back since because of the awesome positive experience with each of their team members. SmartGym XGT it is the place to be!

Fantastic experience: LOVE, LOVE THIS GYM!!! THE ASSOCIATES ARE GREAT, THEY MAKE ME FEEL RIGHT AT HOME. THEY ARE SUPER NICE AND CARE ABOUT MY HEALTH. Fantastic experience: Today was my first time in the gym and was very satisfied with my visit. I got a 1 hour free training with Bryan when i enrolled. He took the time to listen to my goals and explained me how i was going to achieve them and gave me a workout plan we also did a small workout together. You see friendly trainers and people here.

Fantastic experience: By far the cleanest and friendliest club I've ever joined! I did the one week trial as I was transitioning out of my then current gym and weighing out my options. The gentleman up front (can't remember his name, sorry!) showed me around the entire gym and all the VIP facilities without feeling pressured to sign up right away. I expressed interest in the membership that came with the XGT access so he walked me in there, introduced me to the coach, and I took a class that same day! I ended up joining and have been attending the 5PM classes with coach Carlos on a regular basis! The classes are fun, high energy, and I appreciate the coach taking the time to correct our form when lifting weights. I also appreciate that after I joined, the guy who signed me up didn't completely ignore me after he got me in but instead makes an effort to greet me every time and give me quick tips and pointers when he sees me out on the floor. If everything stays consistnat, I do not see myself ever leaving this gym.

Fantastic experience: I seldom write reviews because they take time and are usually only complaints from people who don't have the skin to speak face to face but today my attitude has changed after visiting this gym. I am a small business owner myself and I want to let the owners of this gym know that their staff is great. The equipment and the amenities are brand new and they take some getting used to - no problem - I had several willing staff members want to show me around. I was leery of the XGT classes - no problem I had several staff members take the class with me the first week. The parking is easy - I usually can get a spot fairly close and the place is spotless - literally always smells brand new and I hope they stay this way because it shows pride in us small business owners. The management is super helpful and they are willing to talk to you face to FACE unlike the bigger chains that have some corporate puppet to report down to them.
