Fantastic experience: I decided to join fitness not too long ago (3yrs) for those who understand natural fitness its a journey of no shortcuts. I've always been a self motivated person and patient when it came to my results. I managed to gain 40lbs in body weight in those 3yrs and I look pretty lean just a few setbacks here and there. And then I met Ken (AfriKen) but I never got to train with him due to my ego. First of all Ken is a easy going very approachable person. The beard might be intimidating but after a few words you'll like his personality. So the day I trained with Ken he focuses on my the form and range of motion after 30min into training I felt like throwing up for a second I thought I was going to die. My stomach was turning and believe when I say that my eyes turned bloodshot. I've been training for last 3yrs but still his workouts were challenging. Every time I wanted to quite he challenged me with questions. I've never been pushed to the limit like that. Ken won't be just a personal trainer but a friend to guide you through your journey to success.

Fantastic experience: When you train with Coach Ken, you are not only getting a gym coach, but a life coach. Ken pushed me to exceed all my goals in life and gave me tips in life that I'm going to carry with me well after my time training with him is over.

Fantastic experience: I am too old..my metabolism is too slow..no matter what I do nothing changes….I was full of excuses when I went in for a session with Coach Ken. I had been through a lot. My daughter was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018, and after her treatment ended and then covid quarantine struck, I was a mess both physically and mentally. I had gained a lot of weight, more than I had ever weighed before. I was feeling bad about myself, and at 51 I felt like I was too old to get myself back. But with Ken’s help, I replaced all those negative thoughts with positive ones. Coach Ken not only helped me lose the weight with challenging workouts, but helped me recover my mental strength and motivation. Coach Ken is not like other trainers, he really cares about his client’s journey. If you are ready to make a commitment to yourself and work hard, if you are ready to change your way of thinking and live a healthier lifestyle long term, you will not regret it. You CAN do it!

Fantastic experience: Coach Ken is an amazing person. Very funny, kind and genuine. He is the type of person who wouldn't want you to waste money if he sees that you are not willing to put in the effort. From what I noticed, he cares more about his clients meeting their goals and challenging themselves to be the best version they can, and not just physically but mentally. He suggests good audio books that are eye openers to have you understand important concepts in life and how we can appreciate ourselves and strive to be a positive person and to not have you be held back from negative people.

Fantastic experience: Hmmm where to begin. First of all, let start with the reason why you're reading this: Is he a good personal trainer? The answer is Yes. 100% Yes. Coach Ken has been in the personal training business for more than 8 years and it really shows when helping you reach your fitness goals. I came to Coach Ken because I've always been a skinny scrawny looking "Kid". I decided last September that i needed professional help in order to change my body completely from top to bottom. Well let me tell you that Coach Ken's program has changed my figure/physique in ways i never thought I would be able to reach. Sure I'm no Brad Pitt and still working toward our final goal, but compared to how I looked before, I feel like a million bucks! Each session he puts in the time and effort to push your limits, because he genuinely wants you to not only reach your goal... but surpass them as well. We track each PR, each weight increase, each milestone, but also each setback. Men lie, women lie, numbers don't lol!! Aside from personal training/fitness... coach Ken also helped me grow figuratively as a person. Coach Ken says he uses fitness as the vehicle to mentally help as well, which he really did in my case. He wants to genuinely know how you're doing in life, work, etc. Felt like therapy at Times. Now don't think this means "longer break times". Oh no. You WILL be putting in the work , but also will have moments to just converse between. If you're looking for a trainer to reach your fitness goals, don't look anywhere else but Uzima Fitness. Uzima means "one who is full of life" (more or less i think haha sorry coach)... which is what I feel now. Full of life and ready to tackle the world not just physically but mentally as well. Fantastic experience: Even before I started out my fitness journey with Coach Ken, he asked me whether or not I was ready to commit my all to losing weight. Money and time were major factors in my commitment; however, I am forever grateful for taking the chance with Coach Ken. I have not only lost a significant amount of weight, but, most importantly, I have developed good eating and exercise habits that I carry now and forever, as well as be happy and kind to my body. I wouldn’t say it was an easy journey, but Coach Ken didn’t make it easy on me, as he would always push and encourage me whether I succeeded or failed during my journey. I loved the challenges, as it not only served to push me further, but it showed me how far I had come in my journey and I know I can do better with each exercise session. I highly recommend working with Coach Ken, as he has your best interest at heart and is always there for you every step of the way.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Coach Ken has been amazing! I went into a 3-month plan with full intentions of attaining my goals of losing weight and building muscle & I am extremely happy to know that I have gained so much more than fitness coaching - a lot of mental & personal growth! My partner & I have never missed a session & have always looked forward to the deep conversations & new life lessons we would have with Coach Ken. Even though our time training with him has ended, I know that what he has taught me over the last few months has been instilled within me & I will take these lessons as I progress in life, whether it's professional, personal, or fitness-related. Fantastic experience: My daughter started working out with Coach Ken about a year ago. I have been so impressed with everything about his training. His program is holistic - He actually talks and LISTENS to my daughter and the training is so much more than fitness - he talks about diet, lifestyle, goals, commitment, dedication, leadership, etc. etc. I whole-heartedly recommend Coach Ken!! Plus - his 3 sessions for $20 is FABULOUS!! Check him out for sure!!

Fantastic experience: So to provide a little background. I'm ex-military, have completed several half marathons, have workout on my own and used P90X. Never had a gym membership and didn't like working out with people. I was in pretty good shape or so I thought. It was a big thing for me to decide that I wanted to get to the next level and choose a person that can get me there. So with all that "Why choose Ken for personal fitness you ask?" Well for one thing, a DVD cant encourage me or correct my form. DVDs or working out by yourself can only get you so far and there is no one there to keep you honest. No one to say "Come on you can do 5 or 10 more reps!". Because honestly most people will stop when they are hurting not knowing the potential they have to push beyond their limits. Ken is that person, that keeps me honest and pushes me beyond my limits. I have been going to Ken for a 1 1/2 months and I am lifting, running, jumping and working out better than I ever have. You would think that I would know all the exercises that he has thrown at me at this point but honestly.....I'm doing new stuff every session. I have no doubt that I will get to the next level with Ken. Because he cares about what he does and cares about his clients success. If you are ready to get to the next level, then make the decision and let Ken get you there.

Fantastic experience: Coach Ken is great! Extremely nice and easy to work with. He truly cares about his clients and works with you to achieve your goals. Great motivator as well. He is very informative about each exercise you do and helps you control your form so you don't hurt yourself. The facility itself is also well equipped, clean and modern. Loved the music choice as well. Overall very satisfied with the experience and would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for a good trainer for a while and finally found coach Ken thru yelp. He listend what I want to archieve and understood what I need immediately! He is super energetic and encouraging throughout the whole workout. Also he constantly changes up the workout routine so you hit the all the muscle group and get some good sweat on during session. I really like how he customizes his workouts and make sure every movement is going to help me gain strength. On the top of that he is a such a good human being. I do appreciate him. Thank you Ken!

Fantastic experience: I signed up with Coach Ken committing to one year right before quarantine started. I am excited to be back getting great full body workouts in. He's an awesome coach and I feel stronger and see a difference already in my strength building and toning. Fantastic experience: Working with Coach Ken was an amazing experience! We did a lot more than just fitness. We learned about using fitness as a way to excel in other places in your life. During my time with Coach Ken I stepped out of my comfort zone in the gym but also personally. Coach Ken held me accountable to research & reach out to people in other fields to find my passion. Working with Ken my partner & I also reached financial goals we had been wanting to do for a long time. He encouraged us to think outside the box & be brave enough to make moves that make us a little uncomfortable in order to reach our life goals. If you want work on your health Coach Ken can help with that but what sets him apart is if you want to become better in any other area in your life he is definitely your guy! We’ve hired “fitness coaches” in the past but Coach Ken is far beyond just a fitness coach.

Fantastic experience: I went in for their three session trial special and came out with a very informative and friendly experience. The first thing Coach Ken does is to understand where you stand in terms of your current health and wellness for exercising. Afterwards he begins to focus in on what YOU want out of the fitness program so he and his associates may cater to that. For me, I want to set my goals low because I've been suffering from a back/hip injury 11 years ago. It is hard to be motivated to workout if you have chronic pain. My two goals were not to injury myself and to maintain a level of wellness. After expressing my concerns with Coach Ken, he became curious about my condition and began my session with some deep stretches. We both came to the conclusion that I was extremely tight and when the stretching was over the relief I felt was greater than any chiropractor I've ever been to. The next few sessions he focused on high intensity training which really pushed me to my limits in terms of stamina. He also gave me some stretching homework in between to help me with my chronic back pain. My takeaway from this is that Coach Ken and his associates provide a friendly environment and an educational experience catered to their clients.

Fantastic experience: Positive: Professionalism Coach Ken of Uzima fitness is freakin awesome! Just today I went in for my first kickboxing workout and loved it! Fantastic experience: Coach Ken is AMAZING! He has helped me reach my goal weight in 3 months and I have been able to sustain it too! He not only helps with your workouts, but also help with your diet. I may not always follow my diet (I really love chocolate milk and Cheese-its) but he knows exactly what to say to me to get me back on track without judgment. This is really important to me. He is more than just a personal trainer - He helps to transform your whole life! I can't wait to continue my training after this quarantine is over!

Fantastic experience: If you're looking for more than a personal trainer then Coach Ken is your guy! He is so motivating in not just your physical activity part of life but in all aspects. He takes time to listen to your goals (physical, mental, and life goals) and really helps to push you. Most personal trainers don't invest the time like Ken does in each of his clients. I signed up for the 3 sessions for $20 and I was blown away. Even only being a $20 client he texted me workout reminders, made videos of my workouts so I could do them at home, and sent great motivational and healthy recipe emails weekly! Seriously the best $20 I've ever spent!

Fantastic experience: I came across Uzima Fitness because it was right next to where I work and it was the best experience I have ever had when it comes to my fitness. He really pushes you more & more every work out and I looked forward to all of our sessions. You can do group work outs or individual sessions, which is what I love about Uzima fitness. My friend & I would do some of our sessions together which made it that much more enjoyable! Ken is extremely personable, inspirational, & overall a great person. He truly motivates you to get to where you want to be throughout your fitness journey. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been since training with him. You won’t regret choosing Ken :)

Fantastic experience: How can I start. I was blessed to be introduced to coach Ken. And I emphasize the word coach. I have spent lots of money before but I had never paid for a coach and let me tell you that there is a world of difference between a coach and a trainer. A trainer just motivates you while working out. Coach Ken does that and so much more. He also has help me look inside me and know why I work out. Has helped me be more disciplined, keeps track of my calories and work out routines on the days I don't see him. Basically he goes way above and beyond a training session. I highly recommend him. He is a very trust worthy person and has a very kind and heart an is awesome at motivating you. You must give him a chance if you are looking to better your life style and body.

Fantastic experience: The easiest testimonial for Coach Ken would be before and after pictures but you can check out his website, Yelp, and social media for that.Instead,I want to tell you how Coach Ken has been instrumental in changing my life and my mindset.The weight loss is just a welcomed side effect. You see I had two major goals for this year.1.Get stronger, and 2.Create a habit of being an active person. I don't want my kids to remember me as a couch potato. I signed up for a year knowing it takes a while to change a life-long habit. I have never been very active. Even when playing high school softball it never occurred to me to work out or practice outside of practice. What I love about Coach Ken is he is not training me he is coaching me. Meaning I'm not blindly going through the motions. He doesn't say Jump and I say how high...ok that does happen, but I know why it is happening. He is coaching me to learn how to change my mindset and create healthy behaviors. I'm the one doing the work and he is guiding me, mentoring me, and holding me accountable. I have been working out with Ken for less than 6 months and Im blown away by the changes in my life. I've had 2 kids, am almost 40, yet I'm stronger than that high school softball player. As my body has gotten healthier and stronger than I could ever imagine so has my mindset, my will and my drive. I truly believe because of working with Coach Ken I am a better therapist, mother, and wife, and a healthier person. There is no yelling in your face training. Ken is the gentlest soul and he pushes me with out judgement and with a whole lot of love. I not only gained a coach, I gained a family member. Fantastic experience: Coach Ken is amazing!!! As a working mom I constantly found excuses not to work out or take care of myself. I was always too busy or too tired! It was not something I could start on my own and I did not have the right tools to get on track. I often gave up after a short time of trying to find the right work out or diet. It wasn’t until I decided to take a chance and seek help with a personal trainer that I really understood what it takes to succeed! Fantastic experience: Coach Ken has literally changed my life both physically and mentally. It's like getting a workout and personal development classes at the same time. I feel stronger in all aspects of my life and can take on the world. I have taken different trainers and have had difficulty finding a perfect balance of pushing me hard yet still motivating to come back. With Ken I have found that perfect balance where I am able to stay consistent for many months and enjoy attending every session while seeing results. I have lost the weight I wanted, gained muscle, and have an overall healthier lifestyle. I highly recommend trying out Coach Ken and you can't get a better deal then 3 introductory sessions for $20. Fantastic experience: Coach Ken is not cheap if you have never worked with a personal trainer, but you will get a bargain if you are looking for a personal trainer. He is goal driven and will personalize your "life routine" to help you grow as a person. Yes his workout routines are intense but what sets his apart from other personal trainers is his emphasis on each client's personal goals and aspirations. He pushes you to achieve your physical, professional and personal goals. Coach Ken makes suggestions to self help books that might help you reevaluate how you look at things. In summary Coach Ken is a personal trainer, a friend, and a therapist. I would highly recommend Coach Ken. Good luck in transforming your life!

Fantastic experience: I would say chose Ken to be my personal trainer is the best decision I have ever made. Sounds exaggerated, but it's true!!! I'm at the best shape in my life now but still needs to do more efforts. ;) He is a strong motivation person to encourage me to achieve my goal and explain well to any of my questions. Those are really helpful because I was never have lifted weight before, don't even have any workout experience. After 5-month training, I can feel my physical and mental growth better than before. I don't easily feel tired and have more energy to do more things. Coach Ken is the right trainer if you're looking for a personal trainer. He will contribute all his knowledge to help you to reach your goal. Not only less weight but also have better health!! (The healthy body is the most important things than less weight.) Fantastic experience: I am so very glad and grateful that I found Ken. After reading through all the great reviews and seeing the progress pics, I decided to try it out. On my first day of the 3 for $20 deal, I was SOLD (not to mention, sore as heck). I've had a personal trainer in the past, and Ken surpassed my perceptions of what a personal trainer should be. He seriously goes above and beyond the physical training and challenges you to achieve your goals - whether its fitness related or not. On top of that, I DEFINITELY experienced how much stronger I had gotten in just 6 months with Ken, both mentally and physically. He keeps the workouts fun, exciting, challenging. I don't think there was ever a workout that did not leave me feeling sore the next few days. So, in a nutshell....Uzima Fitness is worth every sweat.

Fantastic experience: Coach Ken is a great coach. He truly cares about your goals, not only your weight goals but your life goals ( the big picture ). Going with him made me realize how important it is to believe in yourself. My workout was at 530am, I would fight with myself to get up but once I was done with my workout, I was more energized and ready to conquer my day. We get so caught up in our daily lives and forget the big picture, well coach Ken will remind you. I highly recommend coach Ken !

Fantastic experience: There's so much I can say about Uzima Fitness and Ken. The facility is incredible and the workouts are always different. Let's be real, no one likes working out, but It makes it so much more enjoyable when the atmosphere you're in is great and your trainer works to keep the workouts fun and updated. Ken does a great job of motivating me and I can tell he genuinely cares about my goals and progress. I would tell my mom to workout at Uzima and if I could do that, I'd refer him to everyone!

Fantastic experience: Ken is an amazing trainer. He is very patient and really cares about his clients. He motivates you and pushes you to do your best. I was ready for a change and I am glad I found Ken. At first, I didn't think I could do many of the exercises. Ken was so patient despite my constant whining. However, he made me believe in myself, helped me changed my mindset, and little by little I am becoming more confident. I definitely recommend Ken if you are looking for a true change in your life.

Fantastic experience: I’m a mom, after 3years of gave birth my child, i thought i will be a chubby mom forever. until i work with Coach Ken, I am more positive, active, and more self-confident. Fantastic experience: I was already into fitness and heavily when I started training with Ken. I was a frequent runner (about 2mi, 4x/week) and I did weight training (5x/week). I was in great shape but I wanted to tone more and gain more muscle. Although I trained with Ken for a short period of time, he was able to show me exercise moves and techniques that I was not aware of, which I now incorporate into my workout routine. His workouts are geared more towards weight training than cardio, which I loved. Aside from showing me workout techniques, one of the most important things I noticed about Ken is that he is very passionate about his clients. I have trained with people before who will go off somewhere or use their phones as I am working out, which can be distracting, discouraging, and just rude. With Ken, he was always paying attention to me and making sure I was comfortable and in correct form. He would help me and cheer me on when he noticed I was struggling. Ken is great. If you're looking to tone and gain muscle, he's your guy.

Fantastic experience: Ken is very patient, which is good for me because I'm very stubborn. He's not just a trainer, he's a coach. He teaches me to hold myself accountable for my choices, and he makes me feel comfortable with being honest about what I am (or am not) doing. He takes the time to get to know you, and in effect knows how to get the most out of you. Fantastic experience: I just completed a 5 session trial with Ken and really enjoyed it! I had never considered personal training in the past, however, I quickly saw the value in Ken's services. I love the accountability and at the same time fun that becomes apart of every session and your fitness goals. He's a great person to be around and extremely passionate and driven. Fantastic experience: A wonderful person, serious professional and a great motivation. He is one of the most positive and supportive coach one can get. It's been 3 months since I started training with him and I'm already seeing great results. More than weight loss it's the will power that I achieved makes me go to the gym everyday. Fantastic experience: Ken's passion for fitness is contagious! He is very knowledgeable, and committed to helping you achieve your own personal goals, whatever those might be. I came in with an injury to my wrist, and Ken did a great job picking exercises that would help me gain strength without risking further injury. After one session, I already felt like I had learned a great deal and improved my form. A great value and definitely worth it. If you are ready to get in shape, Ken is the person who can get you there!

Fantastic experience: I have been training with Ken since August 2015! Best decision ever! He is not only passionate about what he does but also knows his stuff! He will take time to know your strengths and weaknesses then go from there. Results guaranteed! What keeps me going back is that this does not feel like a training, it feels like part of my daily routine and Ken makes me realize how important this is to my health. He will take time to even help me out on the foods to eat or not to eat. I never used to take good care of my body until I met Ken! Thank you for a pleasant experience! Fantastic experience: I find myself very competitive. I grew up playing sports and am a current purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As a soon to be 40 year old man, my goal is to get my black belt and win a tournament and looking like Bruce Lee (j/k). Not making excuses but my brain thinks I am 20. Years and years of fighting, playing sports and working at a desk job has taken its toll. I was introduced to Ken and instantly built a rapport with him. His ability to connect what your goals and realistically giving me the feedback on what it is going to take is invaluable. Ken motivates me like no other trainer experience. I never felt like a checklist to him. He is 100% committed to my well being and physical future. Since I started training with him, I dropped my body fat, increased my strength and developed healthy eating habits. I am on my way to a black belt because of Ken. Fantastic experience: I have been training with Ken for about a month and I'm very pleased with my sessions and his guidance with my diet. I have always worked out, had endurance and strength for past 10 years plus. I wanted to seek a trainer to prepare me for a police academy and take my fitness to the next level.
