The many fitness centers on Fort Bragg provide Soldiers and Family Members with recreation and fitness opportunities. These centers are located in the Fort Bragg and surrounding communities.
The following groups of people are allowed to use PFCs: active duty military personnel and their Families, Reservists and their Families, Delayed Entry/Delayed Training recruits, cadets of Armed Forces academies, Retirees and their Families, and DOD ID card holders and their Family members. Other authorized patrons are listed in table 7-1 of AR 215-1 from September 24, 2010. Usage of PFCs is regulated by AR 215-1 from September 24, 2010, in Chapter 7, paragraphs 7-1 and 7-2. If MWR facilities can't accommodate all of the authorized patrons, the garrison commander will decide who gets to use the facilities and in what order. These priorities are based on the priorities establish in table 7–1.
Garrison commanders will ensure that only authorized patrons are allowed to use any MWR program. Proof of eligibility must be shown in order to access PFCs.
The access card issued to active duty military personnel, Selected Reserve, DOD civilian employees, and other eligible personnel will be used for identification purposes.
The AR 600-8-14 lays out the identification card requirements for retired military personnel, their families, Reserve personnel who are not part of the Selected Reserve, and other individuals who are not authorized to have a common access card.
Identification for exchange students and au pairs will either be a locally developed card or a limited duration letter of access issued by the commander or designee.
A card or letter specifically for those granted access to MWR facilities per table 7–1 may be used to identify them, as they are not eligible for the standard identification cards.
You can wear regular boots and shoes while using free weights, as long as they don't touch the equipment. This includes Cross trainers, treadmills, stair climbers, bicycles, and selectorized machines with foot pads. You must wear court-designed, running, or wrestling/boxing shoes when using this type of equipment. You can't wear flip-flops or sandals while using free weights or exercise equipment.
Parents who go to the Family and MWR Physical Fitness Centers (PFCs) are encouraged to use Loredo CDC, which is across the parking lot from Hercules Fitness Center.
In order to keep the environment safe and secure, no large bags are allowed in any physical fitness center exercise areas, including weight rooms, basketball courts, and cardiovascular areas.
You are not allowed to wear plastic or rubber suits during training because it is dangerous and you could get heat exhaustion. Masks are also not allowed because it could cause health issues like cardiac or pulmonary conditions, hemoglobin abnormalities, hypertension, or other health issues.
The radio stations that will be played are 88.3, 96.5, and 98.1. Management will not take requests to play music that has been personally submitted.
The G9 integrates and delivers Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs and services. This enables the Army to be responsive to global demands.

Callahan Athletic Center: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Clean and small New to this soo not intimidating
Fantastic experience: Clean and small New to this soo not intimidating
Fantastic experience: Favorite gym on Fort Bragg!!
Fantastic experience: Great and you can have a 24/7 option when registered.
Fantastic experience: This is where it all started for me! I remember walking to this gym from Eureka Springs as 13-year-old kid back in 1989 when Fort Bragg was an open Base. I would sit outside of this gym and asked the soldiers to sign me in! I wasn't a military dependent so I didn't have an ID to get access. For the most part I would get in. The front desk guy would come outside and ask me who i was waiting for. I made up some name just to get him off my back. But then he noticed i would always sign in with a different person. To make a long story short he started letting me in!! I was there when the boxing ring was still there!! I can't express what this gym means to me. I'm currently a General Manager for a fitness center franchise. This was the first gym I ever attended!! June 4, 1999, I was finishing up a workout I lost track of time that and missed my high school graduation. I got a speeding ticket from an MP that forced me to go to traffic school so it would show up on my insurance. This place will always and forever be the reason why i took the fitness route of life: Professional Boxer, Marathon runner, 3 times NPC Title holder, Bachelors in Bio-Kinesiology and has always been gym goer 1989. Thanks Callahan!!!
Fantastic experience: Outstanding staff and heroes work and train here
Fantastic experience: Needs male locker room lockers.
Fantastic experience: Only 24 hour gym on Fort Bragg. Small, no sauna, and might not have everything you need but gets 5 stars for being the only 24 hour gym here.
Fantastic experience: Love how it's 24 hours. Good equipment, nice people, and everything you need!
Fantastic experience: Small gym but they have everything you need for a great workout
Fantastic experience: Nice gym to work out.
Fantastic experience: They offer 24 hour access if you're registered for it. Very helpful and polite staff too.
Fantastic experience: It's good; not as crowded. Especially during lunchtime.
Fantastic experience: Great place to get early gym time in Great staff.
Fantastic experience: I love this gym because it opens at 05:30 plus it has showers!
Fantastic experience: I love this gym because it opens at 05:30 plus it has showers!
Fantastic experience: Not a bad fitness center at all. Keep in mind, compared to other gyms on base this one is a bit smaller, however, it definitely has everything you need for a good workout: it has free weights that include dumbells up to 150lbs, about 3 flat bench press stations, 1 incline and decline press station, and 3 squat racks. You have your standard cable machines here as well that include seated row, pulldown etc. Decent variety of workout machines that target all muscle groups and a good amount of cardio equipment if you're looking for that as well. This gym offers 24 hour access- if you're looking to hit the gym after hours with little to no interruption from other people, ladies and gents, this is the way. Set it up before 1800 with the staff over there and you'll be golden.
Fantastic experience: Small gym but great staff, it's clean and it has just what you need to get a good workout.
Fantastic experience: One of few gyms on Bragg open past 1300 HRS. No big crowds during lunch either.
Fantastic experience: Plenty of room an equipment. Not to mention, one of few gyms on base open after 1300 HRS.
Fantastic experience: Home of the Callahan Iron Monster Squad. It's been over a year, But Callahan is STILL the place to be for your fitness needs. Gone are the floor mats and floor grab bar. That's so disappointing. DRAGON FLAGS are no longer possible. But every thing else is ready to go!
Fantastic experience: They finally brought back 24 hr access for military personnel. Gonna be enjoying that again. Have a smoothly bar and is always kept clean. Gets pretty busy some days but there are those few hours that it stays empty and you can get access to machines and weights.
Positive experience: Good, clean gym with good service. A few equipment under service, should be back soon.
Fantastic experience: Plenty of machines to support the number of people that go. They have an application for after hours use which is really convenient and a way to use the gym with a lot less people.
Fantastic experience: Great gym with lots of options for any exercise routine.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, if you go lifting. No one hassles you, but it closes at 1.
Fantastic experience: Great gym close to the hospital
Fantastic experience: Great place to work out
Fantastic experience: Great equipment and normally not that busy.
Fantastic experience: The only gym on post that is open whenever you need it. I spent hurricanes there, and snowstorms too. When I leave this post this gym will be the only thing I'll miss.
Fantastic experience: Never too crowded. Always has a bench press open. Thats 5 stars for me.
Fantastic experience: Open 24 hours clean showers and have also lockers
Fantastic experience: Great plans for gains
Fantastic experience: This is a real gym! Awsome workouts happen here
Fantastic experience: A 24/7 gym for those that like late night workouts or going during non-peak hours. You have to register your CAC at the front desk in order to have 24/7 access to the facility. Overall great gym with plenty equipment. Not only for weights but also for cardio you have your rowing machines, treadmills and bikes. Depending what time you go it can be really crowded but that’s any gym on post. If you have free time while everyone else is at work that’s when it is less crowded. They have electronic scales, showers and lockers located in the restrooms. Check out the smoothie bar for yourself that has a variety of choices!
Fantastic experience: It's going to be open 24/7 soon !
Fantastic experience: I really like this gym started at this gym with my husband when we moved here and will continue to go to this gym even while he’s away. Best times (if you can go) are 8:30am-10am. It’s usually super packed every other time I’ve been and this is the best times to feel really comfortable without feeling like everyone’s looking at you. It’s really small but perfect for me. It has a little bit of everything you need to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Fantastic experience: This isn't the biggest Gym on Fort Bragg, but it definitely has the best hours. They have a variety of free weights, machines, a full set of dumbbells and adjustable benches, squat racks, treadmills, bicycles, rowing machines, ellipticals, and they also have some medicine balls and an area for abs.
Fantastic experience: Great place to work out, just avoid PT hours 0600 - 0800.
Fantastic experience: Not enough ranger panties, but got a sick leg pump.
Fantastic experience: Always love working out at this gym.
Fantastic experience: Great gym! Lots of complaints in previous reviews. This is an old facility and for what it is worth; very good for what you need. If you don’t like it or it lacks something that is not appeasing to you. Don’t go!
Fantastic experience: I love the hours. Great for people like me that works out at random times of the day. Great for us traditional gym rats.
Fantastic experience: Best gym on post.
Fantastic experience: Good place to workout before work.
Fantastic experience: Great gym!
Fantastic experience: Small, but has everything you need.
Fantastic experience: I love my gym
Fantastic experience: My fave gym on post
Fantastic experience: Where the true gym rats live and train!!
Fantastic experience: All the machines you could possibly need to get a full body workout. Great staff!
Fantastic experience: Awesome gym with everything I need for great workout!
Fantastic experience: Only one open all the time!!!
Fantastic experience: Great for gym people who are serious about working out.
