Tiger Schulmann's Martial Arts (Englewood, NJ)

Fantastic experience: I've been training at tsk Englewood for nearly 7 years. I have grown physically and mentally stronger learning from the amazing kid friendly instructors. It is not just self-defense, Tiger Schulmann's MMA has made me an overall well rounded person. They've encouraged me to be more confident in myself and to overcome my fears and achieve my goals. Without tsk Englewood I would not be the person I am today. I used to get bullied before tsk, now I stand up to bullies and help people who can't stand up for themselves.

Fantastic experience: Sensei Klein Joshu Glasser and Joshu Salima are FANTASTIC people and trainers. They give each class 100% and help my children build confidence and stay focused! My children have been training under them for 5 years and I have seen so much confidence and skill develop it is unbelievable! Great school!

The instructors are phenominal and determined to teach us how to defend ourselves on the streets. The facility is fantastic and always clean. I will never regret joining Tiger Schulmann's MMA.

I train 5 times a week and Sensei finds time during each class to push us individually. It is an amazing workout, and I'd highly recommend training there!

Fantastic experience: My son and I have been with Tiger Schulmanns in Englewood NJ going on 2 years now. I have experience in both traditional karate and tae kwon do from my childhood and the military and always met with disappointment due to their lacks in structure. Tiger Schulmanns is incredibly different and I wish I had found them sooner. The curriculum is designed for everyone regardless of their skill level. The staff is extremely talented and pay attention to every students individual needs for their development. The classes are not all about memorizing forms. They begin by helping you develop discipline and technique. Then they follow with advancement into honing that technique into skill with practical application. For the kids classes, they focus on bully prevention. It’s developed to teach the kids how to protect themselves, which is what my son needed. If I could give more than a 5 star review, I would.

Fantastic experience: Tiger Schulmann's Martial Arts school in Englewood is friendly, professional with knowledgeable leaders. I really benefit with the personal attention I get during the class. I recommend this place highly. I just completed my one-year anniversary, and I am still as excited as I was the first day I joined. The instructors are very knowledgeable (all are black belts) and respectful. There is a welcoming atmosphere whenever I go to class. This is not like a gym; this a true school to learn kickboxing and MMA. Joshu Glasser in the morning class works us and keeps an eye out on our performance and provides constructive feedback. Last year I only wanted to lose weight and improve my cardio, but now I also look forward to improving my skills.

Fantastic experience: I have been training with Tiger Schulmann's for over 10 years now. I LOVE it! (Why would I stay for that long if I didn't?). It has gotten me into great shape. I lost 25 lbs my first year and have yet to find it thanks to the self discipline I've learned there. It is an awesome stress reliever as you punch and kick (learning how to do it correctly of course!) all of your worries out on a bag. It has given me a sense of purpose and confidence that spills over into my work and home. And most importantly for me, it have formed great friendships and gained life-long friends-- family. Tiger Schulmann's Englewood school is lead by Head Instructor Shihan Klein. His entire family is involved; his wife is and instructor and his children also have been training since they were 3/4 years old! As for the current climate with COVID-19, we have been taking classes non-stop! Classes have been taking place on Zoom, and once permitted to open, students have the option to train in person or continue on Zoom. When we train in person, Tiger Schulmann's Englewood follows all proper protocols. Classes are very limited in their size, temperatures are taken, masks are worn, sanitizer stations, mats, bags and the air-- YES the AIR! are fully cleaned and sanitized after each class. The air is sanitized by using a special fogger and liquid that dentist offices now use! Consider becoming part of our family! Training is available on Zoom or in person. See you soon!

Fantastic experience: My son is in the tiger cub program on Saturdays. The teachers and helpers are all so amazing, wonderful and very attentive to each child. Even my husband who is very hard to please was impressed. Class is very organized, teachers have great energy, (dont know how they do it at 9 am! My energy is always low so I'm in awe) and my son who has anxiety is slowly becoming more confident and at ease with himself. We are very happy with this school! Highly recommend

The Joshu's (Assistant Teachers) are also in similar style and create a great learning environment. However, her instructors really make a point for kiddos to do their very best at schoolwork, at home with parents and in their training classes. They are super professional and truly care about the students. Even during the high of the pandemic they were always in contact shared online classes and also held all classes via zoom. Fantastic experience: My son loved TSK! He was a cub and loved going to class to see Joshu Fran and everyone else every Thursday. They made it fun and exciting every week teaching new skills, focus, among other skills and best of all a non-quitting-spirit. The best part was when he got home on Thursday and taught his grandparents everything he learned that day. We are really going to miss the TSK family. I would highly recommend TSK to all the little ones its fun and educational.

Fantastic experience: My son (6 yo) has been taking classes at TSMA Englewood for just over a year. It has been a wonderful experience - he is learning focus and discipline, skills and confidence. During quarantine, it was an amazing outlet for him to have his classes via zoom, and he is even happier to be back at in-person classes. All of the teachers are wonderfully dedicated and skilled - overall, so happy that he is able to train here!

Fantastic experience: My kids have been students of TSK for ten years and we’ve been at the Englewood school for five years. Shihan Klein is remarkably engaged and dedicated teacher who gives everything he’s got to every class and he demands the same from his students. Sensei Diarra and Joshu Glasser are also both fantastic, highly trained and dedicated teachers. They work hard and they expect the same from the students. This is a great school for adults, and one if the best things you can do for your kids. My son is a black belt and my daughter is in testing for hers. I’m grateful for what tsk training has done for them: focus, fitness, fun, friendship, and knowing how to defend themselves.

Fantastic experience: Recently my son received an award at school. We were speaking to him about the work he had put in over time to achieve it. We talked about never giving up and continuing on even though the road is long and hard. He told us he would never have been able to do it if it weren’t for Tiger Schulman and the skills he has learned while training there. As parents we cannot possibly express how special this place is. Shihan Klein, and the entire team meet each student where they are to develop them further then they themselves knew they could go. We feel that the investment we have made in this activity is a direct investment in them as people that will continue to pay dividends throughout their lives.

Fantastic experience: My kids (7 &10) love to train here. I believe the classes and the attention they receive from their Shihan and Sensei taught them discipline and perseverance. Results started to show up on their second year, they are more interested in exercising and their attention span has increased which is showing both academically and during TSMMA classes. I do not hesitate to recommend this location, the staff is lovely and make you feel you are part of their family.

Fantastic experience: Tiger Schulmann's is a misunderstood place. Occasionally people disparage it because there are 50 schools. But what is always left out is the fact that this is a school that has been in business and thriving for more than 30 years. They know what they are doing, and everything they teach is practical and applicable to your life, immediately. You will get into the best shape of your life, and within six months of training you will genuinely know how to defend yourself should the need ever arise. The Englewood school in particular is a very special place. The head of the school, Shihan David Klein, is one of the highest ranked teachers in an organization that has thousands of students. He is a sixth degree blackbelt and his knowledge of martial arts is remarkable and his physical skill is awesome and inspiring. Meanwhile, the other two teachers at the school, Sensei Diarra and Joshu Glasser are also exceptional and highly skilled teachers who complement Shihan Klein and together they have created a school that has attracted a remarkably diverse body of students who work hard together and form a family. I know what I am talking about - my kids have been going to Tiger Schulmann's for over 9 years, at least 5 classes a week (my son is now a black belt) and we came to Englewood over 5 years ago from the Hoboken school (also a great school). We were welcomed into the family there, and now its almost a second home to us. I cannot recommend this place enough.. Come and get in shape and learn to kick some ass! You won't regret it -and you will have a blast.
