Ochsner Fitness Center - Harahan

Fantastic experience: I go to physical therapy in the back of this facility. I can not honestly give my opinion on the rest of the place, but the P.T. Team is composed of an amazing bunch of caring professionals!

Fantastic experience: I enjoy the free weights and the body building machine and Caroline Moore and Liz Elizabeth Laurel #1 yoga classes also Sherian Welch#1 Barre class.Kathleen Vincent #1body balance class,♥️ also the sauna and the steam room, very enjoyable atmosphere,#1health center.

Fantastic experience: Who can fault a fitness center that has everything and a vibrant hands-on staff? On days that I start work late enough to get there it it transforms my body. It’s a great facility with lots of programs, and a big help for us seniors.

Fantastic experience: This place is so much fun & addresses many needs. Senior citizens are treated royally. You've got to spend your latter years at this magnificent place.

Fantastic experience: Expensive but probably the most comprehensive gym / fitness center in New Orleans. Pools, hot tubs, free weights, machines, racquetball, squash, yoga studios, HIIT classes, you name it, they probably have it.

Fantastic experience: Had to finally make a trip to the Harahan Fitness Center. Wow, it's huge,clean and a vast difference from the Heritage location. Both are just great for what they offer. Heritage is cozy, Harahan is huge, both are very impressive!

Fantastic experience: Best Fitness facility in New Orleans the gym has a fantastic feel and a fantastic layout. My entire family works out here and I have made many friends from this gym. It would mean a lot if they updated the pool areas

Fantastic experience: The one and only complaint I have is that the music isn't on loud enough, if at all, by the outdoor pools. It makes such a big difference in your surrounding energy. Everything else is beyond remarkable I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Love this place so far. Only been about 3 weeks and while it’s a bit busy at all hours. It’s a huge place with so so many amenities. Just wish they had tennis courts but that’s something i can easily overlook. Great staff, especially Gavin. Friendly, informative, talkative and makes some great food.

Fantastic experience: Really comprehensive fitness center. Loved the indoor track. Great pools. Have all the equipment you could ever need. Is part of the Silver Sneakers program. Staff is extremely helpful and do an extensive health evaluation on each member when you join. Highly recommend. Handicap accessible.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful renovation! Plenty of open space with a wide variety of quality equipment for lifting and cardio. Multiple pools indoor and out that are climate controlled so you can swim year round. And the Hot tub, cold pool, sauna, and steam room will help you recover quickly.

Fantastic experience: I am loving this place. There is something for everyone at any level of fitness. The people there are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It's a clean and safe environment even during these times to work out. Classes galore for regardless of your skill level. I highly recommend Ochsner Fitness Center to anyone who is serious getting healthy or just staying in shape.

Fantastic experience: Never in my life have I been excited to go to the “gym,” especially not before the sun rises. That changed when joining Ochsner Fitness. Now I truly look forward to my visits there. The Elmwood facility has everything you could ever want or need in a health facility, and I don’t mind driving from uptown New Orleans to get there. I love the various pools and class options. “Body Beats” with Noel is my favorite class- yes, spin and weights before 6 AM can actually be fun! The cafe is super convenient and Ms. Yvette is a gem. Overall, highly recommend for monthly costs and quality. Thanks OFC!

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Elmwood gym since April. Signing up for the gym was a life changer . I love the staff, I feel motivated . I am always greeted with a smile and warm welcome. After a few months of the working out i decided to get a trainer to lead me in the right direction to get healthy. Craig Guerrera is a phenomenal trainer. He is easy going and , non judgmental towards everyone fitness goals. He is very patient and pushes his clients to do there best. Love him !

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love it here! The step classes are amazing, and I love using the pool, too. The indoor pool option is wonderful because you don't have to worry about the weather canceling your workout. The group fitness instructors are fantastic. I go to classes 6 days a week and they're fabulous! I especially love step, spin, and body pump.

Fantastic experience: Positive: Communication , Quality I love this gym! There are so many pools with indoor/outdoor options, a sauna, a cafe, and very clean locker rooms. My favorite thing is that the group classes are included in your membership, and you can sign up for the classes on their app, creating a streamlined gym experience.

Fantastic experience: Ochsner Fitness Center in Harahan is great place to exercise and enjoy a social life with family, friends, and members. The facility has by far the best equipment in the South since its amazing renovation. The staff are always very welcoming and accommodating. The extra activities are above and beyond. It's a great club for all ages. Highly recommend it.

I really get a good work out and I can see and feel the results of my efforts. It is a safe and healthy environment with extra care to prevent the spread of germs.

Fantastic experience: I really love this place! I accompanied my mom to physical therapy. Her PT Michael was knowledgeable, professional and a great educator of the processes and treatment he preformed! It's state of the art. They seem to have a proactive approach to healthcare, both mental and physical. The setting is more of a resort spa feel. If I'd lived here, this would be my go to spot for therapy and fitness. That pool is amazing! Go check it out!

Fantastic experience: Ochsner Fitness Center is by far the best gym I have ever been a part of. They have everything. Indoor heated pools. Outdoor Pools. Plus a lot more. Manage your entire routine from the Ochsner Fitness app. Literally hundreds of weekly classes to choose from. Including great Yoga classes every day of the week. Open early. Closes late. Seven days a week. Can't beat it. Great staff.

Fantastic experience: Best gym facility I've experienced. Both diversity and availability of workout machines, from the management, to the trainers, and cleanliness of the entire facility are by far the nicest I've experienced. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Harahan location to anyone. I also like the metarie location, although some equipment is slightly older. It too, has everything you need and is available 24/7. I am certainly satisfied thus far. The only issue I have encountered so far, is the limited availability of swimming lanes inside and outside certain times of the day due to classes being taught.

Fantastic experience: I use both the elm wood and heritage plaza gyms. I like them both for different reasons. Love the outdoor space at Elmwood and heritage plaza because it is smaller. I think it is reasonably priced for what you get. My grandson loved to come swimming with me and is taking lessons.

I love the group fitness classes. The instructors are truly the best! They are always prepared with fun and challenging classes. I highly recommend trying a group fitness class.

Fantastic experience: Went to my complimentary assessment evaluation of my health and what exercises I would need to achieve my goals. My trainer Lisa was very friendly, courteous,, knowledgeable and professional. She showed me how to correctly use each piece of workout equipment. I’ve been to 2 sessions of working out and I’m starting to feel like I’m making a difference in my health. Thanks

The staff and co-members are always so friendly and helpful it makes you want to show up and workout! And, regardless of the level of your ability, or goals, there is a class, and/or, equipment to fit your needs!

Fantastic experience: I got a membership while I was pregnant for the pool. It was a very clean and welcoming environment. I never felt rushed in the pool, plus the 2 outdoor pools were great for warmer weather. I also used the pool for my recovery postpartum. It was exactly what I needed and it helped me feel more fit, energized, and stronger. I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: The facilities are spectacular. The pools are very enjoyable and there are plenty of well organized classes to choose from. We did two personal training sessions with Craig and he was very flexible with scheduling and catered to exactly what we needed/requested. He came prepared, kept in touch, and gave us the incentive we needed to work hard.

Fantastic experience: The fitness classes are the best. There is a wide variety of classes for everyone. The instructors are amazing. The gym is always clean. The weight area has been updated with the best equipment. I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is looking for a place to get in shape or bring the family. Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Ochsner Fitness center in Elmwood for almost 9 months now: it is a state of the art facility and the trainers there are all wonderful. The place is always well maintained , the equipment is all new and updated and the classes are great! My son and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with our personal trainers. My trainer, Lisa and my son’s trainer Joseph , are both very knowledgeable, compassionate and understands our needs well. Both of these trainers customize their personal training to meet my individual needs and those of my son . I feel so happy to have found this Fitness Center and I highly recommend all the trainers at this gym, but I want to particularly recommend Lisa and Joseph for the amazing work they do . Fantastic experience: Elmwood location has everything- several swimming pools, lots of exercise equipment, snack bar that offers salads, fruit, smoothies, PJ's coffe, clothing/gift shop- you name it, it's there. Love the indoor track. Great staff!

Fantastic experience: Been a member for over a year and theres no other gym I'd would rather be at! It's suitable for all ages to enjoy and exercise along with childcare if needed. With the newly renovations, it is more spacious and has a brighter cleaner look. I enjoy coming to the gym now and have worked with a personal trainer who has helped me out with my diet and workouts. would recommend to anybody :)

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best fitness center around, hands down. They offer a wide variety of fitness classes, have brand new fitness equipment, and have some of the best Strength and Conditioning coaches in the business. 5 stars....if I could give it 10 stars, I would.

Fantastic experience: Honestly, the “Disney World” of gyms. This place always feels like home. Everyone knows your name, and asks how you’re doing. This facility has every single type of workout machine and activity that you want/need. The employees are always willing to help, and they are always so nice. The new layout of the gym is beautiful, and the pools and saunas are always clean. The locker rooms/showers make for a comfortable space when resting.

Fantastic experience: This is the best gym I have ever been to. It has everything you need or want in one building. It’s great to be able to use and indoor track when the out doors temperature is above 90 degrees, with 100 percent humidity. They did a great job in renovating the workout areas and the track. The various pools are the topping on the cake. I recommend this place to everyone I talk to.

Fantastic experience: As an Ochsner employee, taking advantage of the offerings provided by the fitness center is a wise move. With the recent upgrades, this place went from good to great. Friendly staff, well-maintained equipment, great food, and great amenities. It can get a bit busy, especially early in the week, but if you can plan your time accordingly, it's a great place to get fit!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been working with Craig, one of Ochsners personal trainers, for about 3 months now and my results have been amazing! He makes it fun and enjoyable to train plus he is very encouraging! I always leave our sessions feeling motivated and great about myself! Truly could not ask for a better experience and it has been an absolute delight to see and feel my mind and body change in such a positive way! I am well on my way to achieving my goal thanks to him! I could not ask for a better gym or trainer!

Fantastic experience: Everyone is welcoming, friendly, professional and helpful when asked. The only thing that would be nice is if there were a resource person near by the weight machine area to help with some of the machines I am unfamiliar with. The trainers are usually in session with clients. If I ask at the front desk , they are always willing to find someone to help me. Overall I’ve had an excellent experience and highly recommend Ochsner Fitness!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE Ochsner Fitness Center. I have been a member since 2015. There’s a lot of space and the amenities are great for someone like me who prefers to workout early in the morning, shower, and get ready for work all while at the gym. Since October of last year, I finally requested a trainer, something I’d been wanting to do for years. Leo is simply the best!! He’s encouraging, fun, and energetic. Just what I needed!!!

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing. It's in a strip mall, so when I walked in, I wasn't expecting it to be so open and big. They have indoor pools, outdoor pools, steam room, sauna, all new equipment in the weight room and cardio area. The group classes will work you-in a good way! If you want more individual assistance, their trainers are amazing. I recommend training with a group to have an accountability partner. They even have massage therapy and nutritional counseling for an additional charge. Ochsner Fitness center has everything you need to better your life and encourage longevity. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at Ochsner Fitness Center since 2016. Everything you need is here and the staff are very professional ! This is a real fitness complex. The price point is higher than other facilities; however, it's worth it if you are serious about meeting and maintaining your health and fitness goals. I love the recent updates and hope the ladies showers will be updated soon :)

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love how I feel like I have family here. Craig is amazing in every way. He pushes me to do my best but also won’t let me push so much that I hurt myself. He cares about what goes on in my everyday life. Like I said he treats me like family and he keeps me strong.

Fantastic experience: Ochsner Fitness Center provides a fantastic experience for anyone looking to better their health and wellness, while having fun. The facility is MASSIVE! Anything you are looking to do, they provide it. From group fitness, aquatics, spinning, cardio, weights, to racquetball they have it all. All staff throughout the facility are extremely nice and genuinely care that you are having a pleasant experience. There is ample parking in the shopping center area or behind the facility. I love Kids Sports and all the amenities and services they provide for the club's youngest members.

Fantastic experience: This is probably one of the best fitness centers I've ever joined. Very very clean locker rooms. Many gym chains don't focus on locker room cleanliness but the staff here keeps it very well kept. You have a wide variety of class, machines, weights and hammer strength equipment. Even when going in the evening after the work...I never had to wait to use certain equipment. The indoor pool is phenomenal as well as the out pool area. They have a room designated for CrossFit/HIIT workouts which is a nice bonus considering the cost of most CrossFit gyms. Relocating here to Louisiana from Maryland... I'm truly happy that I've found a chain where I can continue my lifestyle.

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing place with so many things to do totally safe for your kids and the outdoor pools are closely monitored by lifeguards theres a hot tub and it was so relaxing and a sauna and a steam room. I recommend this place to anyone that wants to do something with their family or friends upstairs and down stairs there is stuff that you can exercise with the staff there was so friendly and helpful it blows my my I will definitely be returning to this place shortly.

Fantastic experience: As i travel around doing destination races I'm always looking for a place to workout or just to keep loose. When I entered this fitness center I was amazed at how clean the fitness center was and how nice and polite the staff were. Today was a swim day for me and I was overwhelmed by the pool options. I chose to swim outdoors and it's March which would be unheard of back in Chicago. It was a little chilly outside at first until I got in the heated water. After my swim I attended a really nice yoga class. I don't remember the instructors name but she was very nice and helpful in getting us into our poses. Great job to the Ochsner fitness Center, you can really feel the positive energy flowing through this place. Thank you to the Hampton Inn and Suites for giving me the opportunity to attend this great facility.
