Coast Fitness - South Bay

Fantastic experience: I have now been a member of Coast Fitness for about 8 months and I absolutely love it! The gym offers sooooo much, way more than those huge chain gyms for a fantastic membership price. It is located in Hawthorne, which isn't too far from me, a little drive there but totally worth it. I'll touch on all my favorites that I consistently use. - plenty of cardio machines (stairmaster, treadmill, etc.). - great weight area with lots of free weights, squatting racks, leg press, etc. - stretching area - sauna - stand up tanning booths - hydro massage beds - outdoor workout area with turf - crossfit area - sleds for pushing and pulling (great cardio) - hot yoga classes! - variety of fantastic classes with great instructors - boxing area with punching bags - kids daycare and kids fitness classes There is so much more and they continue to improve and add more often. Best of all this place is clean! I don't remember a day that I don't see someone cleaning around or organizing weights. The staff is very friendly, although I must say I've come across some that were likely having a bad day. Within the entrance of the gym there is the Core smoothie and juice bar. Very delicious and good stuff to have post workout. I highly recommend this gym even if it is a bit of driving distance. Completely worth it!

Fantastic experience: I walked into the gym yesterday and I was very pleased with what I saw. The staff was very welcoming and had a lot to be proud of when it came to the quality of their gym. They have all the amenities that you need plus luxuries that high price gyms also have, such as a full spa, water massage beds and tanning centers. Can't wait for my membership to start!

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but great things to say about this fitness center. The equipment is state of the art and the customer service is amazing. The water massage bed will definitely come in handy after a workout on the interactive and virtual treadmill. I can't wait for the juice bar to come in for a rejuvenating snack after my workout, and the tanning center will come in handy during the winter months.

Fantastic experience: The best gym I've ever been to! Not leaving this one ever! Forever faithful! The best Hydro massage! Tanning booth! Awesome classes, super clean, friendly staff, awesome kids club care! The owner is exceptional! The price super affordable! Love it!

Fantastic experience: As a previous member of 24hr fitness in Manhattan Beach for the last 18 years I must say this gym is AMAZING !!! For years my old gym did little or nothing to improve the gym equipment and my complaints ( along with many others ) fell on deaf ears. They finally did a half a$% remodel and began raising the prices. You would ask to speak to the GM and the response you got was call customer service. Then when calling you would hold forever and get absolutely nowhere. They plain and simple DO NOT CARE !!! After being a member here for 2 weeks I have spoken to the owners on more than one occasion and THEY CARE !!! I used to rush thru my workout because 24hr was so depressing, now I am spending 2- 2 1/2 hours a day here and LOVING IT !!! Beautiful clean amenities, great classes, inside and outside facilities, massage beds, tanning what more can you ask for ??? I'm THANKFUL FOR COAST FITNESS :)

Fantastic experience: The best gym ever! It’s always clean, friendly staffs, outside gym, always adding something new, women only gym inside women bathroom, juice bar, and open 24 hours! I broke my ankle from hiking last summer and needed to get back on track with proper equipments. It was the only local gym that was opened during pandemic. It really helped me mentally and physically especially during this global health crisis going on. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it. I’m never going back to LA fitness or 24 hours unless I’m traveling.

Fantastic experience: George helped me through out the whole thing ! From when I first called to ask about the membership , to when I actually walked in and signed up . He was very friendly and polite ! He did not hassle me , he did not make anything seem forced or rush . He had a great attitude ! Which is rare now in days . So thank you so much George ! You’re awesome . The gym is huge ! Looks super clean , and has many machines . I’m excited for my first work out here !

Fantastic experience: Love this gym, open 24 hours. New great working out equipment. Outside working area, excellent staff. They keep the machines clean and have cleaning sanitation for the people. Only neg would be the parking during workout traffic hour, they are currently working on a parking structure. Also recommend building more bathrooms, due to everyone taking protein shakes, energy and pre-workout drinks, coffee or just gotta go 8')). Overall good!

Fantastic experience: Clean environment, tons of equipments and great atmosphere to workout. Employees are great! From Alex, Ashley, London, Jordan, Jorge, Deamorie, Mayra to all of them, yet to find one employee that isn't happy to be there.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! Spacious and positive vibes all around. I'm happy that they are supporting their employees along with their families by keeping them employed. The people who are complaining about masks are obviously uneducated and haven't done their research.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. Been a member for over 3 years. There's always space for you to workout even if a machine is being used you will always find another machine available. They also have new equipment that you won't find at other gyms. This place is huge too. They have an amazing staff along with a hard working cleaning crew. Make sure to bring a towel along with wearing a mask around the staff. I like that they always have wipes and sprays to clean down your machine. I also love the private women gym for the ladies who get shy around the big boys. Lol. I appreciate the owner for staying open for us members who believe in health and our respiratory system. The people with negative comments should JUST STAY HOME. You people are the problem with this country. We got your back Coast Fitness. Stay Strong!!!

Fantastic experience: I've been a member for over 5 years. I've never had any complaints. I really appreciate the staff and but most importantly the owners for their bravery to stay open, so we, the members, can continue to stay strong & healthy. It's really unfair that small businesses like this gym is hurting because of this tyrannical gov't. Know that we have your back if you need us to go to court and protest for you guys.

Fantastic experience: This gym is beyond everything that I could ask for. A great staff, great well-kept equipment, and 24 hours accessibility. At the gym is always well-maintained, and you see the staff always cleaning and refilling paper towels. They have a smoothie shop inside the gym, with smoothies reasonably priced. You get what you pay for, and this gym is worth every penny.

Fantastic experience: All the toys you could possibly need. Friendly and attentive staff. Owner and management actually care about being the best gym in the area. Great place! The worst part of this gym is actually some of the members. Unfortunately, reading and etiquette are lost on many. But, I still recommend this place wholeheartedly. Get to work!

Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms out there. One of the only ones to stay open during most of the pandemic and one that listens to its customers. Since joining this gym almost two years ago this gym has added quite a bit of equipment and continues to expand. Although it has a fairly hefty price compared to mainstream gyms, the amenities and community more than make up for it. Sign up with my George if you’re looking to join, he’s very friendly and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: Love the openness and many machines and room; Inspired by others who workout there in great shape! Super clean and love the scale and the mini gym in the women's locker room! Pricey but makes sense and love the 24 hours! Def worth a 45 min drive!

Fantastic experience: Coast fitness is AMAZING. It is huge , have every machine you need and more! Very clean and friendly staff! They do an amazing job keeping everything clean and giving us a lot of cleaning options to clean up after ourselves. I just started my membership here and i already know i am going to be a member for life ! Very happy here at coast fitness !

Fantastic experience: The gym itself is amazing, and the amenities are great and it is always kept clean. It's now open 24 hours all week. Best feeling to walk out of the sauna feeling and looking like aged beef jerky.

Fantastic experience: Best Gym.. starting with Luis the director and his staff are friendly and helpful … Gym offers different classes all day long with professional trainers, like Brandy, Carmina, Melissa from Yoga and Taylor classes are fun & efficient, gym is always clean, the only thing that I wish for them to get new bikes for cycling class.. it is time for an update!! Other than that best place to work out!! come visit!!

Fantastic experience: Best Gym in the South Bay area. Friendly Staff, clean facility, and WORKING equipment. You don't wait to use any piece of equipment. There is always parking, their hours of operation are very convenient. Zero excuses for not reaching your goals!!!

Fantastic experience: Update: After trying other gyms nearby, LA Fitness, a few Crossfit boxes, and 24 hr... I decided to come back and give it a try. Glad I did. They were upfront with contract options, non-contract, and paid in full memberships (as well as any additional fees), the staff was extremely nice, and it’s almost never that busy (unlike LA and 24 hour fitness). TONS of equipment and bunch of toys for you to use (tires, outdoor area, turf, sleds, ropes, climbing rope, monkey bars, tanning, massage, etc.). If you’re in the Hawthorne area or any neighboring city, give them a try. Great facility. Tons of amenities. A large selection of classes. 24 hours through the week... yet I still have to give a one star... I texted one of the workers there about adding a family member. I was quoted a price. I accepted the price and walked in and signed my brother up. My brother is back in school and no longer needs the membership (only used it for 2 weeks). So I inquire to cancel. Little did I know I was locked into a 1 year contract. 1. The person that gave me the price didn't tell me it was a 1 year contract. 2. The person who signed us up (different person) didn't tell us it was a 1 year contract. I accept responsibility on my end for not reading the fine print, but when I've dealt with these guys before (and I've worked here and in the health industry) I assumed that giving customers a run through on the membership was standard practice ESPECIALLY WHEN SIGNING A ONE YEAR CONTRACT. Just seemed shady and money hungry at the end of the day. Paying the $99 cancellation fee and cancelling my membership today.

Fantastic experience: I'm 5 miles from there but worth it. Very clean and has most of the stuff you'll need.Pretty much has everything indoor and outdoor from normal level to expert level equipment.

Fantastic experience: Dana is wonderful. Her gym is super clean and has all the equipment you would ever need. She also is super wonderful with my 6 month old baby. She helps watch him so I can get back in shape. Workouts are great and I already feel better with this program. The baby being able to come is a huge plus. She has a play pen,toys and outdoor area for the kids to play while mom works out. Would recommend this to anyone looking to get back in shape.

Fantastic experience: Previous UFC gym member, it was alright to me. Coast Fitness is awesome! It's never too busy to go to the gym, always having machines available to use. This is by far the best gym I have stayed for a long time.

Fantastic experience: The gym is clean and spacious, with tons of various classes: cycling, boxing, yoga, zumba, etc. The classes I've taken are great and challenging, as they should be, but are certainly designed for both beginners and more experienced participants. I've left Malynda's treadmill classes feeling high on endorphins. The classes are included in the membership of the gym, which gives an incredible value for signing up. I go mostly in the afternoon or early evening. There is rarely a wait for free weights or machines. The cardio-room is equipped with stationary bikes, treadmills, elliptical machines and stairclimbers and, in my experience, they always are available. Sometimes equipment breaks down but I've never noticed excessive repair periods. There is a massage room, and the changing area is roomy and well kept. I don't shower there, so can't comment on that. There are lockers in the changing room which can be secured with your personal lock. There is also a parking lot in the front with plentiful and safe parking while you work out. The staff is friendly or knowledgable. Most members are like me, in that they're focused and are there to workout. There's interaction but it doesn't distract, it isn't intrusive. Would highly recommend.
