Obstacle Academy - Ninja Warrior Gym

Fantastic experience: My grandson takes ninja class here. He loves it! The coaches are so patient and enthusiastic.

Fantastic experience: My son started attending OA about 1 year ago. His physical fitness and confidence has increased tremendously over that time. He loves the changing obstacles and timed challenges. The staff focuses on building their confidence for each obstacle and not on physically helping them do it.

Fantastic experience: Got to meet some of the obstacle academy ninja family in Fargo for unaa competition. These guys and gals do ninja! The athletes were top notch on and off the obstacles! And the parents were great! Whatever they got in the water, coaching and culture in there gym is worth being part of!

Fantastic experience: My daughter enjoys the weekly classes here. We’ve done a couple of the camps which are more “free time” in the gym as opposed to the classes which help teach the obstacle skills.

Fantastic experience: We signed our daughter up about a month ago for the 5-6 year old class. We’ve all loved it. Sarah and her coaches do a great job and the gym has lots to keep our daughter moving.

Fantastic experience: Easily one of the best ninja gyms in the MN. The coaches and staff are helpful and kind, and obstacles are switched out pretty regularly so you get to try new obstacles pretty frequently. They also have an amazing team program that I definitely recommend checking out.

Fantastic experience: By far the best ninja course out there. The guys running the program are super serious and dedicated and will sit the troublemakers out in an instant. They don't mess around as it would be very easy for a kid to injury themselves or others if not following the rules. This isn't a place for kids to come and run amuck. Very structured approach to physical training.

Fantastic experience: From birthday parties, to open gyms, to now a part of the youth ninja team, all of my kids love Obstacle Academy. The trainers are so inspiring and dedicated. The kids learn so much and gain so much strength, all while having fun. I definitely recommend OA!

Fantastic experience: Our (now) 12 year old daughter joined this gym when it opened, and it has had an extremely positive influence on her life. These aren’t classes where you sign up, and are shuttled through by whatever instructor is available like health club yoga or spin classes. These are classes with dedicated instructors and teammates who encourage and cheer each other on. There is a strong emphasis on self improvement and everyone there is genuinely excited when a member accomplishes a personal goal. Through challenges and encouragement, Obstacle Academy has built our daughter’s self confidence; we’re proud to be a part of the OA family!

Fantastic experience: Great Birthday party place. Our 6 yr old just loved having his buddies come and play. The hosts are very good with the kids and you get the entire floor to your party.

Fantastic experience: My 8 yr old son has been in the team program for almost a year. The OA coaches create a structured environment for him to excel both mentally and physically. I highly encourage folks to come check out the Ninja Team programs offered at OA. My kids love it and its a blast to watch.

Fantastic experience: I started on a fitness journey this past summer for the first time in my adult life. But I pretty much hate exercising and would never go to a regular gym, it's too intimidating to me. I was so bored with the typical 'working out' stuff, but then came across obstacle type training and I was hooked! It's so much fun you don't hardly notice you're working out. The instructors and classes here are really great. Everyone is so nice, and it's not an intimidating environment at all. New Years is coming up, so work towards that resolution by checking this place out. You won't regret it, and you'll probably be hooked. And feel like a kid again with all the swinging around.

Fantastic experience: My son was invited to a birthday party here and had a blast, so much that he didn't want to leave! We were equally as impressed. The staff was really fun and engaging. The gym was very clean and had a plethora of activities and obstacles for all the kids. We will for sure be having our sons birthday party here next time! I also know they have many adult and kid classes as well and am eager to find out more about them! UPDATE: We had our son's birthday party here and had such a great time! Both coaches(Sarah and David) did a great job keeping the kids engaged. My son and his friends had such a great time! My favorite part was when Coach Sarah announced the race. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!!

Fantastic experience: We have been to a few other Ninja Warrior places but this place is amazing. My son was in heaven the second we walked in the door and someone who he had just seen in the tv show was working. I love how he led them in a workout first before free time. He showed them how to do things and set up on obstacle course. My 6 and 8 year old had a blast and I can't say enough positives about the amazing time and care the staff took helping my kids learn how to do the obstacles and proper technique. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic experience: I have been training at Obstacle Academy for over a year now. I go once a week and it is so much fun! My focus is training for obstacle course racing. All of the instructors are so friendly and knowledgeable! I have learned so much and gained so much strength with my grip and on all of the obstacles since I have started. They have classes for all levels of athletes from beginners to advanced. The class I attend on Wednesday led by Sarah is very challenging, so if you are looking to go to the next level, come and check it out!

Fantastic experience: Came here for an OCR class while in Minneapolis for the holidays. Overall great experience. Everyone on the staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. The instructor (Josh) was knowledgeable, clearly had a well thought out workout, and helped me master the technique on the rings since I'm a newbie at this stuff. Would come back anytime for a fun and different type of workout regardless of if you're training for an OCR race or into Ninja training.

Fantastic experience: Thought the approach of partial coaching and part free-time was brilliant and worked out really well for my boys. The best part was they didn't even know they were being 'coached'. They felt like they were figuring the obstacles out on their own.

It's like a Disney Prince convention, I almost wanted to leave one of my Zantes and see if someone would bring it to me to find it's a perfect fit and then marry me. 12/10 would recommend.

Fantastic experience: Workouts are a lot of fun! I had never been to an ninja gym before I came to OA. Leif, the coach is very patient in teaching us how to conquer obstacles, and let's us know how to practice at home. Definitely recommend the gym!

Fantastic experience: A group of us went to the adult open gym on a Saturday night and had a blast. The obstacles are challenging and really fun- felt like a kid on the playground again.

We had our sons 9th birthday party at Obstacle Academy and it was perfect, so much fun for all the kids and easy for me.

Fantastic experience: I have been training at Obstacle Academy for a few months. It has been a great experience seeing the gym evolve. They are constantly creating and adding new obstacles to challenge athletes of all skill levels. The staff is amazing and they do a great job training everyone from kids trying it for their first time to challenging advanced athletes to test their limits. Their number one priority is always safety and it is easy to see with the construction of their equipment and their placement of mats and pads. I would highly recommend checking out Obstacle Academy.

Fantastic experience: Love this place! It is like a playground for adults (and kids)! I've been pretty out of shape for about 6 years, and Sarah's women's class on Thursdays has been the thing to finally motivate me to get back out there and grow some muscles.

Fantastic experience: I had so much fun. My son isn't super athletic so I was a little concerned he would be apprehensive but concerns faded quickly when I watched him run and attempt obstacles. He had a blast and it gave him confidence. It was cool how encouraging, supportive and friendly the staff were to my son. Great place to encourage and empower kids to be active in a creative and fun way. Highly recommend this gym.

The coaches were superb -- encouraging & informative; the facility & offered obstacles were better than we imagined; and the experience locked huge grins onto our daughters' faces for days. Fantastic experience: I've only been once since we're not local, but my wife & I signed up for a Sunday morning class and were a little worried when we showed up and it was all kids and us. However, Coach Kyle was awesome and tailored our session to what we were looking to accomplish in our short time there. It was awesome and we have both been able to put a lot of what Coach Kyle taught us to good use in our subsequent OCRs including OCRWC.

Whether you're an elite level ninja warrior athlete training for ANW, a young fan of the show of the show that has a birthday coming up or just anybody who is ready to try a different approach to fitness, this is the place to be! The staff are super friendly and knowledgable about all things obstacle and will help you break through boundaries and take on obstacle you never would have thought were possible all in a safe and fun environment. 5/5!

Fantastic experience: I love this place. I have been regularly going to Obstacle Academy in Edina for a couple months now and it has been well worth every cent. The gym is fantastic, the coaches are incredibly friendly and personable, and the price is reasonable. I was struggling to find a fun way to become fit. I never felt like going to the gym and working out at home wasn't doing it for me. Then I found Obstacle Academy. This place is exactly what I needed. Now I can get a super killer workout while having the time of my life! Definitely worth checking out.

Fantastic experience: Whether training for an obstacle course race, rock climbing or looking to improve your ninja warrior skills.. The Obstacle Academy is the best place in the twin cities to go!!! It's even a great place to host children's parties!!! Their classes are taught by experienced coaches who know how to help you reach your goals and go far beyond!!! If you're a little more experienced and just want to work out then stop in on Friday or Saturday night for an open gym!!! Stop in and check them out, it's an experience you don't want to miss out on!!!

Fantastic experience: Obstacle Academy is an amazing place. The coaches are super friendly, experienced, and helpful. Also the gym had a large variety of different obstacles for all levels of ninjas. On of my favorite parts was the bouldering area. I am an avid climber and was impressed with the quality and upkeep of the routes. My overall experience of the Obstacle Academy was great and I will for sure be coming back.

Fantastic experience: Kids had a blast at my son's 7th birthday! Staff was great and very patient with a bunch of crazy boys who were too excited to stop moving. Will be looking into classes or open gym for my oldest in the future.

Fantastic experience: It's not very often that I get excited about a new gym opening in the area, but Obstacle Academy is like nothing I've ever experienced before... it makes fitness FUN! I'll take monkey bars and warped walls over dumbbells and treadmills anyday. The staff are all educated and kind and it seems like each time I visit the gym new obstacles have been added. This is a must see.

Fantastic experience: Each time I learn a new skill, I can't wait to return and build on it. The coaches here take me out of my comfort zone and I am thankful, it's been great fun. There are new obstacles nearly every week, always something different to try.

Fantastic experience: I visited Obstacle Academy for the first time this week. The class was a women only Clare, which made me feel very comfortable working out at the facility. There staff was very welcoming and helpful, showing me the ins and outs of the various events. The enrollment was easy going and fun, I want worried about not being able to keep up. I really enjoyed my workout. Would highly recommend.
