Fantastic experience: I was very wary before making a commitment. However, I tried 2 of her challenges and made the decision to make a 1 year commitment because my experience has been great. I love the camaraderie between everyone here. Erica makes sure we push hard and we all make it through. I am very self conscious about my appearance and this place is a place I feel comfortable. We are all shapes and sizes no judgments. I feel stronger after every class even though I get my but kicked :)
Fantastic experience: I will have been with Tuff Girl for a year in March and I couldn’t imagine myself going anywhere else for a workout. I’ve tried going to a regular gym before but found myself getting stuck into the same routines doing the same workouts over and over again. It got boring and old fast, so I stopped going to the gym altogether. I knew that I had to try something different. Tuff Girl with Erica was it! Erica is a great trainer. She pushes you and motivates you to get the work done. She also makes the workouts fun by switching the exercises every day. I never know what’s in store for me when I walk into the doors. I would highly recommend Tuff Girl to anyone who wants to make a change in their life or for anyone who just wants a great workout!
Fantastic experience: Joined Tuff Girl for a 6 week Challenge - Operation Fit and Fabulous. Erica provides a great variety of classes, never the same class twice! Which always kept it interesting. With the challenge, she provides a GREAT meal plan, with recipes included.. a shopping list, no excuse not to follow! I absolutely enjoyed the entire 6 weeks, yes I was crazy sore and pushed to my max, but it is what I needed to get my health back. I suffer from back pain, and I have been pain med free for almost the entire 6 weeks. I know it is because my core is stronger than it has been in years! In total I lost 11lbs. and 8 inches over the 6 weeks and I can't thank Erica, and the entire Tuff Girl Family enough.
Fantastic experience: I started Tuff Girl Fitness Boot Camp in May (I am still going 3x a week) and I LOVE it! Erica is a dedicated, energetic, and dynamic trainer who will push you to your limits. She is consistently changing and adding new exercises to her workouts which helps keep your workouts fun as well as effective.There are morning and evening class times which will work with anyone's schedule. **Recently Erica has added TurboKick classes to her gym which is a killer cardio workout that also defines your abs! The music is fun, upbeat, and trust me you will burn TONS of calories while enjoying your workout! Sign up today for both--you won't be sorry!
Fantastic experience: I have tried so many different weight loss programs/diets and have never been as successful as I have at Tuff Fitness. The workouts are amazing and always different so you don't get bored. I find myself excited to come to class and see what workout creation Erica has planned for that day. Not only have I lost weight while with Tuff Fitness but I've learned how to live a healthier lifestyle and enjoying it at the same time.
Fantastic experience: recently celebrated 3 years with Tuff Girl Fitness. Knowing myself to be a long-term, dedicated couch potato, I started to wonder what kept me going to bootcamp for 3 years? What was different this time that made me continue with this fitness program when all others have failed to keep me engaged? What motivated me to keep getting up at 4:45am, 4- 5 days a week? She is knowledgeable, experienced and every workout is a challenge no matter what fitness level you are at. What sets Tuff Girl Fitness apart from other exercise programs is that it offers a unique and refreshing way to get in shape. The workouts encompass whole body movements that give you maximum results and don't waste your time. Every day is a different routine which keeps the sessions fresh and challenging. Erica likes to combine exercises in quirky mash-up of movement found no-where else. If you are struggling with a movement, she offers modifications to help you improve. She offers an extensive pre and post body/weight evaluation which can be performed periodically so you can easily monitor your progress. She offers a nutrition program to help you understand what your body needs to be successful. She will even go so far as to come to your house a perform a kitchen raid to set you up for successful transition to healthy eating. One of the things I like best is the smaller class size which creates a supportive, fun, and friendly environment. Plus, the 5:30am session is women only. There are also great incentives, discounts, and promotions that keep the cost affordable. For me, the best incentive are the Challenges Erica offers periodically. These challenges include meal plans that help teach you about nutrition and the needs of the body. The challenges are always interesting and create an atmosphere of friendly, supportive competition for awesome prizes. The challenge we just completed was the best so far. There were so many ways to earn points, that anyone could win. My favorite part was the plank warz. It inspired me to look at the world around me differently. I was actually looking for opportunities to break out into a plank hold in the most random places. Anyone that can take a dedicated couch potato like myself and develop an appreciation for fitness deserves a chance to inspire similar changes in you. Give Erica a chance to inspire positive changes in yourself. You will not be disappointed.
Fantastic experience: I am new to Tuff Girl Fitness and I love going to class! I have been looking for a place to go to exercise where I feel comfortable and have a good solid group of people around me. I have tried big gyms and personal training but nothing has given me the feeling of support like Erica Martin and the other Tuff Girls! I started out just before I joined a 6 week challenge and since then I have seen and felt amazing results. I never thought I would be this motivated to get back into shape and push my limits. I am getting stronger, have lost weight and inches, and continue to learn about my body. I know I have a journey ahead of me to reach my goals but Erica has been a very supportive. The workouts are challenging and different and I don’t get bored. I never thought I would actually say that I like going to the gym. I have enjoyed what I have done so much that I have signed up for yet another challenge. Other members said I would get hooked. They were right! Fantastic experience: Thanks to Erica Tuff-Girl Martin and Tuff Girl Fitness my exercise regimen is now an important part of my lifestyle. I have been going to TuffGirl Fitness for 2 years and am a lifetime member. I have participated in all of her Challenges and have seen great results…We just wrapped up this challenge and I have seen the best results yet! I am back to my high school weight.... I have been going to Small Group Training for 4 months... My strength has increased significantly with SGT and the PT classes on top of Boot Camps. In SGT we focus on building strength and power. Erica customizes the program based on our level and abilities. I have been seeing significant results from fat loss and significant increase in strength and endurance. She offers SGT in small groups and now recently added is X-Fit Strength and Core Conditioning which is a step toward SGT.. In SGT she customizes and offers more personified approach. Erica Martin - Tuff Girl Fitness' owner, personal trainer and coach is great to work with. Her personal training has been the key to my strength and endurance achievements. I started personal training July of 2013 and have experienced significant improvements on with my overall fitness. She encourages you to meet your goals, keeps you on track when you lose sight of the goals and customizes your workouts to achieve the highest positive results. When you participate in her challenges you get awesome recipes. If you have been thinking about getting back to the gym or switching your workout regimen, you should work with Erica, stop thinking about it and commit to life changing results!
Fantastic experience: I signed up 6 weeks for Operation Fit and Fabulous, and I LOVED it! Erica is amazing! She makes the workout so much fun and challenging. I have learned how to portion my meals and learned to drink a lot of water during the day and she made the vegetables taste so good that I am event starting to like garlic which I never did. I became stronger and got to know how to eat healthy and I am sleeping much better as well. Erica is an inspiration and she motivates you to work hard and she always takes time to work with you if you needed help. You will never get bored with her workout and her daily routine and challenges even my daughter loved her workouts If you want to become stronger, learn how to eat healthier and have a fun workouts go see Erica she is awesome and she will help you. Fantastic experience: Tuff Girl Fitness is awesome! Signed up for a six week challenge and went into it with realistic goals: attend 3 classes per week, work on flexibility and fitness, develop better nutritional habits, and spend some time on ME! It's been a great program and Erica works hard to help you push hard. I can tell week by week I'm getting stronger and it's definitely helped with my stress and I'm getting better sleep too! Today I out paced my husband in a 5 mile walk (after completing class!) which is a first! Tuff Girl helped kick his booty! Whoot!
Fantastic experience: Long time customer of Tuff-Girl, seemingly first time review-writer. (Okay, not literally, but it’s been more than a fortnight since the last one.) I was looking to broaden my exercise routine beyond Zumba, but am also not the type to head to a crowded gym and figure out it for myself. After poking around Yelp for what was in town, I found Tuff-Girl and gave Erica a whirl. I take personal training, but beyond that there’s a number of ‘challenges’ she runs throughout the year that help keep me motivated and on track. (Oh, and there’s prizes too -- really nice ones, not just certificates with gold stickers that are reminiscent of runner-up awards for third-grade spelling beeze, er, bees.) An unexpected benefit was some of the strength work has improved a shoulder injury from work, to the point where the meds from my pain management doctor all but remain untouched on the dresser almost every day -- a far cry from the cocktail of colors and shapes that began some years ago.
Fantastic experience: updated 10/25/14 I have been with Tuff Girl for a year and a half, and LOVE it! Erica is amazing! She has helped me accomplish many goals. Her challenges she offers are a great incentive to help with your fitness goals, she makes them fun especially if you are a competitive person. I am coming out of a challenge now and am loving the results. I have learned how to portion my meals and learned to drink a lot of water during the day, which helps with weight loss. At Tuff Girl, boot camp classes are a lot of fun because Erica changes up the work outs daily. I'm one to get bored quick, so I enjoy doing different workouts! If you are in the Tri Valley area, look her up! You need to try her classes! I love, love, love, this gym! I like the small atmosphere, the group of girls that go and the owner Erica! She is awesome! I've been with Tuff girl since April and have lost more than 15 pounds. My favorite classes are the morning boot camp and the pound class. Erica makes the classes fun and interesting! I'm one that gets bored real fast, and she's the one that keeps me wanting to go back by changing things up. I really love that my clothes feel great on me now. I'm comfortable in my own skin thanks to the eating habits learned from Erica. If you're looking for a great workout to get in shape, Tuff girl is the place to go! You won't regret it!

Fantastic experience: I just finished a 6-week challenge at Tuff Girl and I lost 23 pounds and I feel great! The workouts were challenging and fun and different every day so I didn't get bored - I never did the same workout twice! And the meal plan was clear and easy to follow and offered a variety of recipes. I definitely recommend Tuff Girl to jump start your healthy lifestyle
Fantastic experience: In early January I saw an ad on Facebook for the Tuff Girl 6 Week Challenge. Having 2 neighbors who attend the gym, I was familiar with Tuff Girl and decided to take the leap and sign up. I'm so glad I did! I needed the boost to kick start my weight loss. Today was my weigh out and I lost a total of 19 lbs.! While I didn't quite make the 20 lb. challenge goal, I worked incredibly hard and am SO proud of myself! I decided to commit to a year with the gym to keep working toward my goals. I'm loving the classes - every day is different, and best of all I don't have to think about making sure I'm changing it up. The coaches pre-plan each day's total body workout. It's all women and there is no judgement - you can take breaks as needed and the coaches will show modifications. Everyone challenges and encourages each other.
Fantastic experience: I just finished the Belly Blast Challenge.. I took the Supplements for Prestige Labs which were AM, PM, Sleep Multiplier, Vitality, and EFA. this was a shorter challenge than the others I have been on. During this challenge I found the push I needed to eat right and push I needed to make it through each of the workouts. Thank you Erica and Madison for pushing me to my limits and finding where I can push beyond my limits. I have lost 6 LBS and 6 inches in this very short 4 week challenge.. I plan on moving forward and continue to incorporate the supplements and lessons I have learned and take my weight loss to the next step.. Thank you.. I highly recommend giving Tuff Girls Livermore a chance, I finished my 6 week program and I am feeling GREAT! Erica, Amber, Shawna, and Madison have all been awesome and so much help! The workouts are challenging and you are sore, however, No Pain No Gain! I've been eating healthier, getting more active, I've also found that my mental state with stress and anxiety are less, and don't have time to sit and watch Netflix or Big Brother as much as I would like to because Now my body just wants to move all the time! The nutrition is also a plus! It helped me feel healthy with out feeling too restricted and never hungry! If you are looking for something that motivates, encourages, and push you to reach your goal. This is the place for you! Please give Erica and her team a chance to help you get there. I've decided to commit to a year with the ladies and I am so excited to see what new changes they will bring to my life, My husband is very happy with the results that I have been able to accomplish this far, and can't wait to see my results as I keep going! Positive experience: I had a Baby 10 weeks ago and decided to do a six week challenge in order to lose some of the baby weight. I worked out 20 times in six weeks and stuck to the diet about 99% of the time-- and lost 21 lbs!!! The diet and workout program was very doable for me, the location was convenient and the classes overall were good. I like the 45 minute class length and i liked the balance of both strength training with a little cardio. The ropes and boxing were my favorite! Additionally, the workout environment was very comfortable, i enjoyed the "girls only" policy, and found people to be helpful and supportive. This was a great start to my weight loss and I look forward to continuing to eat healthy and find enjoyable exercise!
Fantastic experience: I just completed the 6-week challenge and had a very successful experience. The meal plan and workouts provided me straight forward information that was easy to follow. The workouts were hard but not impossible and made me gain strength. I really liked the variety and felt good knowing I was getting a full body workout. The members and staff at Tuff Girl are very supportive and everyone is very friendly. I highly recommend the challenge for a great jump start to a healthier lifestyle.
Fantastic experience: Just finished the 6 week challenge and had a great experience. The staff is super helpful and adjusts exercises to you abilities. Everyone at the gym is so friendly and encouraging, would definitely recommend to anyone wanting help changing their life!
Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough good things about Tuff Girl. I was ready to make a change and the 6 week challenge was my jumping off point. I lost 14lbs during the challenge and now I’m looking to continue my journey. Erica and Madison are extremely supportive and know when to push you to get your best results. You’ll never regret making the change to get healthier and stronger, but I can guarantee you’ll regret not starting sooner.
Fantastic experience: I lost 17 pounds and dropped 2 sizes during the 6 week challenge which is the most success I have ever had with any exercise program. The classes are structured in a way that keeps it exciting and motivating and I look forward to it each morning. Positive experience: So, I never write reviews but am because it's part of the 6 week challenge. I am not a member of the gym but I did a 6 week challenge through them so this is more a review of the challenge than the gym itself. Pros: - Great 30 minute workouts - If you are dedicated to the process you will lose the weight and the fat. - If you live in Livermore the location is pretty convenient. If you live in Livermore and you shop at Trader Joes the location is super convenient. If you live in Livermore, Shop at Trader Joes and are part of the facebook group "Trader Joes Meal Ideas for Busy Moms" the location is torture (people are constantly posting snacks on that page you can't eat on the challenge). - Having $500 on the line made me totally accountable. Every piece of bread, glass of wine, piece of chocolate, I looked at, I just asked myself is it worth $500. None of them were and I didn't cheat at all. I ALWAYS cheat on my diets. Even when it came to thinking of taking a day to sleep in, sleeping in wasn't worth $500 either. - I have always eaten clean but I wasn't loosing weight. On the diet they give you you will lose weight. Basically my sweet potato & fruit for breakfast that I would usually eat, wouldn't cut it on this diet. - I have never been as strong as I currently am. I have weighed less and I have fit in to smaller sized clothes but I have never been this strong. Cons: - They have somewhat limited time options. Especially for people who work & have kids. Definitely make sure you will be able to attend the classes that are offered. I ended up supplementing with running because there was no way I could make any of the weekend classes. - They aren't quite as organized as a popular other gym that does a similar 6 week challenge and because of that I don't think they get as many successful people with losing the 20 pounds as that gym. Notes: - When I didn't my initial body fat challenge I was told that 32% body fat was "obese". It is not. I was devastated at first but then I looked it up and found out that 32% body fat was actually "over weight" and then I was better. Although 6 weeks later, I am mentioning it so maybe not recovered. - If you do it, be prepared for a ton of emails, facebook ads, etc. Emails advertising and upselling from Tuff Girl. And facebook ads from every gym in the area. - I personally was not as nice a person while doing this challenge as I usually am. Probably because I usually cheat on my diets and I didn't cheat on this one. It was pretty stressful on me and my family. Before you commit, you should consider if you are really ready for the commitment. - They start a new challenge every week. When I went in for my appointment, I mentioned I was concerned about the dates and was told that I shouldn't worry about it. But truthfully, I could have just started the next week which probably would have made my life a little easier and I wasn't told that.
Fantastic experience: I did a 6 week challenge here (over the holidays nonetheless!) and I honestly CANT believe how much my body changed in 6 weeks! The workouts change every day, so you never get bored. You have to put a lot into it for sure (meal planning and sticking to it), but you WILL get results! Thank you Erica and Doreen!
Fantastic experience: I participated in the 6 week challenge. I would recommend this only to people who are serious about making a lifestyle change. Losing 20 pounds in 6 weeks is much easier said than done. You are provided recipes and a nutrition plan, which is extremely helpful when you have no idea where to start. You are also required to check in on Facebook at least 3 times a week as well as send in photos of the food you eat throughout your day to an accountability coach. Dorreen and Erica are awesome. The workouts are awesome. The support is abundant.
Fantastic experience: The women at the gym are awesome and the motivation and accountability the trainers and fellow women provide is invaluable. I am so thankful that I embarked on this journey. I would recommend this gym to any woman interested in making life changes in a fun and motivating environment. I have been apart of other gyms in the past and have never experienced this type of supportive and fun environment.
Fantastic experience: I have visited many places for my weight loss challenge and finally selected tuff girl fitness. I like the ambience, location and the fact that it’s only for girls. The program is well organised and the instructors are very professional and nice. The accountability coach helped me to stay on tract and advised me when I needed guidance.
Fantastic experience: I am extremely impressed with the Tuff Girl Fitness gym! I just finished the 6 week challenge and with three classes a week and the Tuff Girl food list and guidance from Erica, I was able to reach my goal of 20 pounds lost! I was very impressed with the classes! Only a half hour each and they kicked my butt every time! I would recommend this gym to any lady out there who thinks they “can’t” do it. YES you can!!
Fantastic experience: I did the 6 week challenge that started in January! I lost a total of 22 pounds with the motivation of $500 on the line! The atmosphere is very welcoming and motivating! It’s a quick 30 minute workout that kicks your butt! With convenient times throughout the day to get your work outs in! They provided a meal plan that was easy to follow and actually pretty tasty! I would defiantly join this gym in a heartbeat! I loved the fact the classes were smaller and they were able to work with you one on one and modify your workouts for your body! 5 stars all the way! Thanks again tuff girl! I will defiantly take everything I learned the last 6 weeks in my day to day life to continue my fitness journey
Fantastic experience: Tuff Girl had been on my radar for several years. I had always felt a little intimidated by the words “Boot Camp”. Being 57 years old, attending boot camp was not on my bucket list! (Being yelled at has never been my idea of fun) I have done many of the other popular gyms and weight loss programs, but I always seem to put the weight back on. Recently, I had been slowly gaining weight and gaining weight, even though I was trying to diet and work out on my own. I knew I needed to do something. Then, I received an email from Tuff Girl advertising a 6-week weight loss challenge. In that email, it said that it didn’t matter your age or ability, the Tuff Girl program could be modified as needed. So I did it. I signed up for the challenge. The work outs are tough, but I can do them. With the helpful coaching of Doreen and Erica, I’ve learned modifications where needed, and they don’t yell at me! They do push me to do my best, and are quick with praise when I’m working hard. The menu plan that goes along with the challenge has been great too. I eat fresh food every day instead of prepacked/frozen meals like on other plans. The best news is that after five weeks on the challenge, I’ve lost almost 17 pounds! Thank you Tuff Girl!
Fantastic experience: Love this place! The 30-minute work outs fit perfectly into my schedule, but also provide such a good workout in that amount of time. The work outs are different every day, so my muscles are constantly being worked in different ways. Erica and Doreen are AMAZING trainers who truly care and even the women that go to Tuff Girl are super supportive. Some of my favorite benefits of membership are weekly healthy recipes, weekend workouts, motivational words of the week, and challenges to help stay motivated. So glad I gave this place a chance, now I’m hooked.
Fantastic experience: I love my works out here. The classes are just 30 minutes and BOY... Do they pack a punch!!! I love that the classes are different everyday..it keeps things interesting . The trainers are amazing and know how to make the classes fun while motivating you to push yourself. I highly recommend this place to every women (of all fitness levels) to try this place out.
Fantastic experience: I first started this as a challenge for 6 weeks and at 4 week! It's one of the best decisions I've made for me!! At the end of the challenge, I had lost (roughly) 20lbs and 7 & 1/2 Inches!! The support of the other women and camaraderie you get is amazing. You can modify any workout to your fitness level, but on the flip side once the trainers see you getting to comfortable, they push you for one more, one more push up, one more box jump, one more. And that's what I needed that push. No two work outs are the same, you never know what your going to get when you walk thru the door, so that keeps it exciting. You don't have the same stale old work outs you would get at your typical gym. During the summer months, when you tend to slack off, you have an "accountability partner", we attended as many classes together as we can, encourage each other, and talk atleast once daily... So not only am I being held accountable for my workout and "no excuses" time I've gained a great friend!! It's 30 minutes out of your day, that's not too much time to invest in yourself is it? I did it for me. Do it for you.
Fantastic experience: This is the best bootcamp I have ever been to! Erica is so motivating and her workouts are amazing. I am always sweating buckets after the morning bootcamp. If you are looking for a fun workout that has an amazing support team this is definitely the place to go. If you go to the classes you'll see result so quickly, I was amazed. After a week I could see my whole body getting more toned and I felt so energized. Erica also offers nutrition help so you can get that beach body quickly. I could talk about how amazing this gym is all day but you need to come check it out for yourself after 1 class you will be hooked!
Fantastic experience: Tuff Girl Fitness is amazing! I joined for a 5 week challenge, and ended up signing up for a year! The trainers are so great and supportive and each class is different so you never get bored. When I first started going, I had no definition in my arms and was very weak in my upper body. Now, I have definition in my arms and I can do push ups on my toes! I always leave class super sweaty and proud of the gains I have made. I cannot say enough good things about this gym, it's simply the best!
